Tuesday morning and cold in GA....

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday December 17

Postby DearMissMermaid » Tue Dec 17, 2013 6:23 am

I've been up since 5am, waiting and watching for the sunrise, my daily miracle. I figure any day the sun rises, it's going to be a great day for a new adventure. Currently I am about 4 miles west of the seashore in Melbourne Florida. Here is a sunrise picture taken from the door of my wheel estate.

Oops, I have to study up on how to post a pic, but I will try again in a few minutes. :o

Good morning Lori & MissMermaid (your posts will most likely be combined when Beth wakes up), & all to follow :D

Furnace on here too! Poopers still snuggled under the covers. On my first cup of coffee...Another Terminator Tuesday! Second treatment today, then the big clean up of emptying all the cabinets & getting under stove & fridge! UGH!

Also drinking some Emergen-C, as some strange bug is going around here too. Hope CArol & others that are around "it" don't catch it, & Pat, wishing you a good "outcome"

Anita, where are you now? I'll try to catch you in the Ocala area right after Cmas. Irmi & Steve will be there, my Sis, & of course Kathleen has been there for a month now. Red, did you make it back home?

Aunt is doing so much better--has fewer moments of not being able to express herself. She has dr appt today, & there will be discussion on whether or not she can continue to live alone, with visiting nurses & neighbors. She's a tough old coot!

Y'all have a great day...Oh, guess I'll just add that I miss many of our forum friends who have gone over to fb :( I'm not much of a fb person, but I understand the ease of having everything right there .... 8-)

Good Morning Lori and Carol and all who will join in later. I've wondered about Red also, I miss her posts and was hoping to hear more about her Disney adventures.
Carol be careful cleaning up after the bug man, wear gloves and if they used a powder, a mask.Years ago I made the mistake of not realizing the need and ended up very sick. That was 40 years ago, so hopefully the treatment they use is different now. Are there professional cleaners you can hire? DPF I'm hoping by now you have found much needed relief.
Supposed to be another day in the 40's which will melt more of this mess we have. We have heavy rain predicted for later in the week and I sure hope the ice in the gutters melt by then. :!: :!: Right now the ice I can see above the gutter is about 5 inches and with the gutters being at least 5 inches deep that is a lot of ice. So far we haven't noticed any roof leaks that many people are experiencing because of the ice build up forcing the melting water under their roofs.
I need to take advantage of the nicer weather and do a bit of Christmas shopping. I postpone thinking about it s as long as possible as I really don't like Christmas and will be soooo relieved when the holidays are over. DH brought our tiny ceramic cira 1950 Christmas tree up from the basement yesterday. It's the one with the little red birds that light up, I guess it is his way of giving me a hint I'd best get motivated. Am I the only one who isn't excited about the holidays? It all started when I found out there was no Santa.
It sounds like the Baja Bound ladies are having a wonderful time along the way. So glad they have found warm weather!

Good Morning everyone,

A bit balmy here this morning. Not sure what the temp is but it's not too bad out there. Feels warm compared to what we have been having. Supposed to be in 20's for next few days. Goody, maybe I can get the Flex washed next time I'm up that way. If I had wanted a white car, I would have bought one

Lori, sounds a bit cool down in GA. If we had that right now, we would probably be out in shirt sleeves after this frigid temps we have had  Carolb, another treatment and you should be through with that stuff. Good to hear that you aunt seems to be improving, hopefully will continue.

The big news for me this morning is a picture sent by my neighbor from his iPhone of my house that he took yesterday. Wanted to show me how much snow we have had down there since I left 10 days ago. My reaction was "holy cow" Been there before like that, but never the less, quite a surprise. Keeps that up and we will be heading for a 200 inch winter this year. Jst hope they don't get a whole lot more before I get back as the neighbor is leaving for FL on Christmas Day for winter. So nobody around to do drive after he leaves unless the friends who will be taking in mail after that, plow out for me. We shall see.

Image

Spent most of yesterday up in Marquette, bought a couple of new winter hats and ran a few other errands. So today will probably be staying around here. Finished decorating a bit in here yesterday, so that's done. Looks like folks next door may be leaving today. They are heading home as his work here is done. Workers are coming and going at the new mine construction depending on what their jobs involve. So that apartment will be empty till folks from IL arrive after Christmas to snowmobile.

Enough chat for this morning. Want to wish you all a wonderful day out there. Keep warm, safe, and if you are on the road, happy travels.

What a gorgeous sunrise !! Good Morning Everyone !! Beautiful way to start a day , I started it cold, and I'm more south then most I think, so was thinking of all of you as I set up enough in bed to switch the heater on . That is the top of the list item I love about my home on wheels :D

Hopefully the day will warm up nicely for us all. NOT too warm, 70 is good. I'm such a picky person  dial up weather would be good , right ??? At least the sun is up and that's so good for the spirits .

Carolb, when you all GTG in Ocala area give me a holler please, plan to visit Kathleen but the more I can visit the better. My winter might be a little limited on visits as I need new glasses and thinking one of my cataracts needs to be gone, so not sure what kind of time I will have for GTG's this year. My sis had a good dr, so planning to see hers in Jan. Need new drivers lic by April so can't delay much after new year and then hoping I have enough time, dreading the whole deal.

I hope to get to Melbourne also in Jan. have several I want to visit there, in our forum and friends I've had. So my winter is based on a short amount of time for all the fun things I'd rather do. And I'm pouting and fussing like a baby, always wanting things MY way

More cards to get ready for mailing today, really late this year, that's one thing I do enjoy doing more while looking out at the snow, the Christmas feeling is there. I'm cold today so maybe that will help

Hoping you all have a fabulous day, for those on the road ,stay safe and enjoy the view,

CArol :)

Good Morning,

I think we'll hear from Red soon - they planned to leave Friday but decided to stay until Sunday due to cold weather on their route home. It was fun to be able to get together with her!

Carolb and CArol, I will plan to meet you in Ocala - my current plan is to go back down to Wauchula Jan. 2, but plans can change.

Carolb, Red and I talked about FB and the people there that no longer post on here. All I can think is, they don't miss us!! I wonder how many of them still read this forum but don't post. I appreciate those who choose to stay in touch here as well!

The new truck salesman in Arizona came up with a counter offer that I am not thrilled with. In the meantime, I accidentally found exactly what I want with more bells and whistles but slightly used - also in Arizona. Waiting to hear back about trade in from that salesman - if that deal goes, I may head back to Arizona a month early.

Neighbors are having their coach washed - think I'll see how it goes and maybe have this very dirty rig done.

LeRoy led some elderly friends on an ATV ride in Arizona yesterday. They got to a spot where we had seen sheep a couple years ago and they got lucky again. Unfortunately, our elderly friend yelled, 'Sheep!' Of course the sheep ran. As I was listening to the story, all I could think was 'glad I wasn't there' because I would have been miffed. Not 2 seconds later, LeRoy said, 'It's a good thing you weren't here. You wouldn't have been happy!' He's learned about my short fuse.

Everyone stay well and warm!!

You're to funny Anita! Reminds me of the time I was in Canada near Rosedale with sis and BIL on the way to Alaska. We had hiked up to Bridal Veil falls and as we approached the falls I saw a bear up on the side of the hill..I shouted "BEAR!!".... he took off and I thought I was going to have to run my sis was so mad at me!! LOL!! Hmmm...maybe that was why almost all I got was butt shots on that trip, word spread! LOL!

The bear was halfway up on the left side and a wolf was on the right...I scared them both off. sigh.

Not sure what we have planned for today but lots to do! Gonna be pretty today and then the weather goes to the dogs. Figures!

Hope everyone has a great day, stay safe and warm.

Am I the only one who isn't excited about the holidays? It all started when I found out there was no Santa.

BJ, I feel the same way, but mine started when my mom passed away 6 1/2 years ago. Christmas just isn't the same without her. :( She was our Mrs Santa!

Sharon, are the bear and wolf in that photo? That is a beautiful shot of the waterfall!

Surprisingly, it is already 26 degrees here! However, very windy out so the windchill is in the low teens. The sun was out when I woke up but clouding up now too. Will head out in awhile to do some shopping.

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning All, I'm going to stay here as opposed to going to fb. I am all ready spending much time on the computer and don't want to spend more.
Sue, great picture of your home! I know snowmobiles are fun, however, I was a xc skier and loved the quiet of the forest!
We had a gorgeous sunrise this morning. It was so bright and pink and reflected on the tall buildings.
Hope Spinner is feeling better this morning.
The thing that turns Cmas off for me is the commercialization. Altho I don't decorate anymore, I do love others decorations and the Cmas music on the radio.
Stay safe, lyn

Good morning

So great to have the sun back even if for just a few days (2-4" rain forecast for coming weekend). This time it is also warming up into the 60s so fighting the leaves again before the rain won't be so bad.

A few more appointments this week plus a little Christmas shopping and trip to campground to check on Magic.

Hope you have a great day and enjoy some sunshine.
