Wet Sunday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wet Sunday Morning

Postby carolb » Sun Dec 15, 2013 6:21 am

Good morning all! :D

And I do mean WET--rained like the dickens early this a.m. & DUH I had my fantastic fan open! Hmmm, will take a day or two for the edge of the bed to dry out  But warm temps & hot coffee are on the menu for today!

Looks like the potential care-giver for aunt has decided to take a different job. Aunt seems to be getting along better--doing all things she used to do & has a bit more spring in her step. Still waiting to see if a speech therapist can help with her aphasia, which seems to be lingering...

Posted late on MC yesterday, that I was melancholy for "home." Over that this a.m. & just thankful for this great opportunity I have to travel in my little Trek meeting so many of you wonderful forum friends & catching up with far-away family! So everyday is Cmas for me!!! :P

Y'all have a great day, safe travels & happy moments to treasure! 8-)

Good morning Carol & everyone!

A little on the cool side in MD this morning. We're in the high 30's right now and will top off in the mid 40's.
I'll be off to church in a bit and next Sunday after church, we'll start heading south! Carol, if we're in our site in Ocala on Christmas Day, please feel free to come and help us celebrate the occasion. Have a super day everyone!

Good morning Carolb & Irmi & all who follow,

Hoping to get out of the deep freeze here in KS today.

Carol, I was going to tell you to zoom up here for Christmas, but Irmi's invite is probably more doable. None of my out of town kids are coming home this year - not sure I'm going to like this setup, but it is what it is. I still have a son & 2 grandkids here but its going to be a different not having everyone together. (Drat, encouraging those kids to follow their dreams!   )

Love following the blogs - thanks for reminding us when you've added new posts. :D

I'm packing up care/gift packages for California kids today - my ex is flying out there this week. Also stuffing kids letters to their sponsors in my spare time - ha! Christmas greetings have come in late this year down at the office so they're in a pinch getting out over 300,000 letters in a very short time - all hand-stuffed by volunteers. Anyway, I enjoy seeing the greetings from all over the world to sponsors all over the US - very touching to see these relationships bloom. :)

Well, I'd better get busy... lots to do, limited time...
I hope you all stay warm, dry, happy, healthy & safe.

Good Morning… oh yes the storms were bad here last evening and all night… power was out for sometime… it sounded like something hit my MH so will venture out to see if there is any damage later… if my body has it's way it will be much later!
This afternoon Molly is taking me to Sweet bay for groceries.
I did not sleep well last night… need to break this bad pattern…
Glad you are feeling better Beth… a cold is not fun at any time of the year…
Have a great day everyone

good morning ladies
well yesterday was a fabulous day, Liz and I went to the archeological dig and checked it out, very interesting. I enjoy that kind of stuff
and they were having a festival while we were there as well. Then caught up with Tina after the dog show and went to a fun little town
and had dinner. I'm sure the girls will post pictures and stuff. Missed you Mitch, but I know your happy soaking up that sunshine. Its what
we do a lot of in Arizona :D
Doing a little catch up today on routine chores. Had brought home one of the booster seats from the bus to wash it up as it got "p" in it.
Most of the special needs students wear pull ups and sometimes they leak, alot, and seats need to be cleaned. Booster seat is now dry
and ready to bag up for return in the morning. We usually just swap them out for another one and all the seats get washed during the
summer but I just didn't want to take the time to drive over to the other yard to do the swap. Much easier for me to just bring one seat
home and get it washed up. So many parts of being a bus driver are NOT glamorous and fun but somebody has to do it and it might as
well be me cause then the clean part of my brain knows where it stands ;) and I don't have to be afraid to touch something for fear of
the dreaded germs. Enough on that.
My knee is protesting a little today, as I expected but a little aleve with breakfast hopefully will do the trick. Will have to discuss this
with my doctor at my next physical.
Little chilly out this am, actually only 40* but supposed get up to 68 or maybe even 70 today. One of the things I look forward to when
I get back into my rv is sitting in the sunshine for my morning coffee, something I can't do here. One thing at a time and it will all come
to be. :D
Ya'll have a great day and be safe. Someday I'll be where you are :D

Slept good and got up at a decent time...7am... :D It rained all night and still is sprinkling here...cooler temps for the next 4-5 days, but the sun will make an appearance for most of the week....so things will dry out... ;)

Glad the travelers to Baja made it to AZ...and having some fun time with Ava...And Tina's Audrey is honing her skills on the dog show circuit....practice makes perfect.....good job, Audrey... ;)

Okay, got to get the day going here....coffee and english muffins here....

Have a great day, all....

Finally some snow to go with all this freezing weather -- and the wind has stopped, too! William is looking forward to a good walk this afternoon, and so am I. :D

Tina! Dog show photos and stories??

Everybody have fun today.

Sounds like the weather is all over the board for everyone. We had inches of snow. If it's over a couple of inches it's too much! Grabbed a quick cup of coffee and figured it wasn't going to go away so went out to clean the driveway and sidewalk. Luckily my snowblower started so that helped. The "guy" that works on it broke his ankle so I wasn't able to get it serviced this fall. Be grateful for small favors. After all that I moved the car on to the backyard and cleaned it off. That way it's less to get off the driveway! If I ever get the garage cleaned out I might actually be able to park in it. It was more a workshop then a garage for my husband. So anyway, back in the warm house having a cup of coffee and thawing out. I think I like the idea of fleece pants. My legs are still cold. Okay, I'm done whining!! Have a great day, everyone!

Good Morning All, Lori and Ernie..you didn't even mention the Army/Navy football game. I am not rubb'in it in, but, this is a Navy town and my ex was a destroyer sailor. If you ever get out here I'll take you to see the new destroyers which look like something out of star wars. And, I greatly admired Blanchard and Davis. Do you even remember them? If I remember correctly, Blanchard grew up to be a General. The Army quarterback yesterday had a very good arm but I think the cold/rain/snow did the receivers in.
Carolb, this is a first Cmas for me too. As my ex is getting married in NH, the kids are flying back for the wedding. I do love, sincerely, the woman he is marring...she takes good care of him, and, they stay with me when they visit San Diego!!! Some people just do not understand "a big happy family".
Ava, it seems long now, but it will go by fast, then you can sit in the sun with the morning coffee and look at the view all over this beautiful country.
Catherine, if I were closer I would have helped stuff the 300,000 envelopes..what a job. Do your SD kids send you pictures of "sittin in the morning sun with the coffee"?

Sounds like we need a good campfile on Christmas Eve... :D
Lyn, The San Diego kids post pics from their vantage point on the beach & my LA son mentions how cold it is out there - only 47 this morning! My heart bleeds for them - NOT! I may have to find 'affordable housing' in so Cal if such a thing exists in a couple of years... :o

No kidding!

Affordable housing out there is a maybe at the Slabs, but no where else that I know of, other than a cardboard box on skid row somewhere.

You make it sound like we're all millionaires who live in California. From personal experience I can verify that is definitely not the case. ;)

Thanks, Sandi.
I'm hopeful if my baby girl stays out there (I know her brother will) that I can find something. Granted it will be further inland than where my kids live but definitely closer than I am now... Got some time to figure it out though - need to work here a couple more years.
Then again, maybe they'll all come back.
