Up at 4am, sipping coffee, waiting on the sunrise. I don't use an alarm clock, I just wake up, get excited about the possibility of another sunrise and can't seem to go back to sleep. At this time of morning, the campground is completely silent. I seem to be the only fool up, waiting to see the daily miracle. :D

Good morning Miss M & all to follow :D

Hmmm, how nice to be on a beach waiting for the sun to rise! Yes, looks like another beautiful day here in FL...wish we could send you northerners some of this warmth.... ;)

Exterminators will also be here next week for a second treatment, then POA has aunt on a monthly program. Oh, after all the work I've done, they better not let the nasty critters return  Haven't walked poopers in several days--I mean a long walk--so today will do that.

More coffee! Y'all have a great day & be safe always!

I'm not on the beach, but no matter where I am parked, I am just thrilled to get up and watch the sunrise!

I figure any day the sun rises, it's going to be a great day for adventure.

No way can I afford Florida rates to camp at the beach. However, South Carolina state parks on the beaches are pretty reasonable and allow dogs, so I do all my beach timing in South Carolina before I get to Florida. It seems so funny! Folks assume I am down here in Florida flopped out on the beach every day, but not so.

I don't have a car, just the RV. Much of Florida is dog-paranoid when it comes to beaches, especially the state parks. The firs time I went to a Florida beach a few years back, I walked out with my 6 pound mutt on a leash with a fistful of poop baggies, and was told he couldn't be on the beach. It seemed ridiculous to have to stuff him back in the RV and because it was so hot, I had to run the generator and the AC for him while parked near the beach. Then I was lonesome at the beach, not having my little buddy along for the stroll. So I haven't been to a Florida beach since.

Ironically, I had walked him around before the beach so he wouldn't feel the need to poop at the beach, but I always have baggies with me just in case. Even in South Carolina, I walk him around before we hit the beach, in hopes he will do his personal business ahead of time and he usually does this. Whew.

I've tried to chase down a few dog friendly beaches several times, but I couldn't find them, so I've given up for now. I do my beaching in South Carolina then come to Florid to be warmish for the winter.

I so wish FLorida would go look at South Carolina beaches, people have dogs out there and I've never seen poop left behind.

But to sum it up, the sun came up! Yippie doodle doo! It's going to be another fabulous day even if there are very dark clouds looming about. :D

Good Morning, I woke up a little too early for me but once you open an eyelid around here a dog hears you and is ready to go. It is a frosty 5 degrees out with a -1 dew point. I didn't know dew points went into the negative, I though 50 was low for around here. I thought to leave the sink in the bathroom dripping thank goodness because cold water in the kitchen is frozen,a first. Tomorrow more sleet/snow is coming in but after that it is supposed to warm up. It may take a week for us to be able to get our front door open and the several inches of ice on the stoop cleared. We will have to wait until warm weather to get the leaking guttering that is causing the problem fixed. The dogs don't seem to mind the cold and want to go out constantly in the snow, it keeps me busy trying to keep them dry. Of all mornings we have to go out for an appointment at nine ACKWe just don't have this kind of weather that often thank goodness or I would be looking for warmer places. Is it too late to catch up with the Baja group?! Sorry about all the whinging will probably feel grateful for 5 above zero when Barbie or DPF tells us what the weather is in the real north!
Glad to hear the BG has made it to the sun and are thawing out! Winnie says she will send her new sweater to Abby if she needs an extra.

Good morning,
Nice warm 57* breeze this morning. Think I'm finally warming up, and the Baja girls are getting closer.

Good Morning,

Disney World trip came to an end last evening with a wonderful experience. I bought the dinner package which included seating at the Candlelight Processional. Had a wonderful dinner at the Coral Reef restaurant - crab cake, lobster pasta and mousse (did not clean my plate - didn't want to be miserable). They sell a lot of seats to the performance! By the time I got in, they were turning us to a different part of the theater to find seats - I asked the usher if there was a single somewhere. She pointed me to the 2nd row!! The Christmas music with orchestra and choir was wonderful. The Christmas story was narrated by Dennis Haysbert (the Allstate commercial man).

And now the weather cools down! I could have lived without the heat and humidity while being here. Oh well, it was fun.

I am packing up getting ready to go back to Thousand Trails. I will be Red (Chris) for breakfast before I go - it has been great to see her here!

Have a grand day!!

Fernandina Beach, FL allows dogs on leashes...it's a city beach, but is close to Ft. Clinch State Park.....only thing is at this time of year, it's hard to get reservations at this park....pretty full in the winter months...but worth the try.... ;) No dogs allow on beach at Ft. Clinch thou....

Good Morning everyone,

My first comment for this morning is:
Image

The weather here is still coldl and I see there's yet another storm heading across the lower to mid part of the country. Doesn't look like this one is going to bother us up here although snow is forecasted for Sunday. Since I have been here, we have had maybe an inch of snow all week, comes in little dustings during the night. Way better than my "southern home" which has had something like a foot of lake effect snow this week and also the eastern half of the U.P. which has been getting dumped on as well.

Carolb, don't feel bad about your "poopers" not getting a long walk. Sassy hasn't really had one either. Just short ones. Been too cold to get out and really enjoy a nice walk. Next week, we may warm to 20 which will feel like a heat wave after this subzero cold. And I didn't bring any shorts along either

Nothing on the agenda here today. Just starting another little sign craft project not that the one above is done. Probably take a walk later today, maybe do some catching up on this forum and also should post my sugn craft projects that I have done over the past couple of years cause I kinow osme have been asking to see them.

So, will get moving here. Have a great day all. Keep warm and snug, watch that next storm and those on the road enjoy yur travels.

Good morning

There are many dog beaches in FL. I posted links under the pet section so you could find it easier.

It is still very cold here and I'm not looking forward to having to get out in it today. At least we have some sun and it is dry so no slick roads to deal with this time.

Wishing you a safe, warm day.

Good Morning everyone… I am so glad to be in Fl this year… my daughter sent me a message from under her covers she was waiting for the house to warm up… I looked at the temp and it was 1 degree in Normal! Way too early for those cold temps… it was 57 here in Ocala this morning…
Have cinnamon rolls in the oven… no not home made just from a tube… will taste good though…
Carol you need to come see me when you get a minute… it can't be far… I am on Anthony road…
Time to dig into those rolls… will share with anyone that likes…

BJ, sorry to disappoint you, but it is already a balmy 16 degrees (above zero!) here this morning! May get over 30 next week here! This heatwave  will probably hit you and Sue in the next day or so. Our weatherman predicts that this is our "January" weather early so we probably won't get hit with much of this again this winter and will have an early spring. I hope he is right!

Still have this nagging cold hanging on. What a pain! Stayed inside yesterday and got a lot of cleaning done. Tomorrow I have the day off again and will work on some projects I have put off too. Last night I frosted my hair so it looks better now! Wanted it lighter for Christmas and Florida. :D

PS> I haven't seen an update from the Baja Gals...where are you all reading about them?

Barbie, info on the Baja Girls is probably coming from Facebook. Liz and Tina have been posting.

It's up to 52 this morning. Not bad if you are out of the wind and in the sun. It was suppose to get down to 34 last night but only got down to 44. I am glad when the weather people miss it that far in the right direction.

Yesterday I got my hair cut. I was going to go look at floor tile but it was almost noon so went to Lafayette instead. Met up with my friend and we went to Bed Bath & Beyond and ended up at the Mall. I was pooped by the time we got out of there. Bed Bath & Beyond had so much stuff piled in the aisles you couldn't move. Toys R Us was the same way and I couldn't wait to get out of there. I wanted a couple of things but I wasn't going to fight that mess.

BJ, your pups sound like my kids when it snowed here. We don't have the clothes for snow. They would bundle up and go out until their clothes were wet and come in to warm up. It wouldn't be long until all their clothes were wet.

Still need to go see about new glasses but I'm not moving very fast today. The doctor's office didn't have much of a selection of frames.

Martha
