Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

Postby Irmi » Wed Nov 27, 2013 5:48 am

It's 43 degrees here and it's raining. This is supposed to be our high temperature of the day and it'll get colder by the hour, but to my knowledge, it'll be too warm for the rain to change to snow.

When the rain slacks off some, we're going to run into town to get a few things for tomorrows meal. I don't have any vanilla pudding or whipping cream for the eclairs I'm making. I also need cabbage to make the coleslaw. Both the eclairs and coleslaw will be made today as will the rolls. The turkey goes in the brine this morning and it'll go in the oven in the morning. I'm so looking forward to tomorrow and having Dad here!

The woodstove is stoked and it's feeling comfortable in here already. In fact, today is the first day in a long time that I haven't had to wear my robe over my jammies.

Have a good day everyone!

Good morning Irmi and all who follow.
It's been pouring rain all night here. Supposed to change over to snow this afternoon with little to no accumulation.
I am already tired of the cold and it's only been a few days.
No plans for turkey day, will lay low and start some Christmas decorating.
I am hosting the neighborhood cookie exchange this year so I need the house to look good.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Good morning, Irmi, Brenda, and those who follow...

It's windy here today...would have slept in longer except for a tree branch rubbing on the roof or side of the 5er...still too dark to determine where for sure...I just looked at the Weather Bug and it tells me that, yep, it's going to be windy & there maybe a freeze watch for this evening... Sounds like the "wind chill factor"... Oh, well, will wait and see how that turns out...

Okay, coffee's ready, and some orange/cranberry muffins fresh out of the oven....help yourself....

Have a great Thanksgiving Eve Day...

Good morning all. Don't you just love the holidays? Christmas decorations are already up on the light poles in town and now the weather is actually going to be chilly tonight. Love it! Lori, thanks for the muffin . . . anything, with cranberries is the best. Got up early and booked by res for the Silver Springs GTG next October 2014. Thank you, Liz, for getting it out there early.

Good morning all :D

Thanks Irmi--happy Tday eve to all, too. Sounds like you have a great day planned for your Dad...& a belated happy anniversary Lori & Ernie!

Yes, I've been MIA for a couple days, but I did make it to my aunt's. Had such a GREAT time with Soos, & we even got Linann over the night before I left. I'll be back in that area in a couple weeks to gtg with them & many others--Anita & Red at Disney! Sandy, Donna & Miss Mermaid? Anyone else??

Crazy rain/wind last night--hope all the FL peoples are safe. Red, sounds like you barely escaped some very nasty stuff. See you soon!. Welcome to FL, Kathleen--I'm sure you're happier here than freezing in IL :D Baja peoples on their way! :P

Aunt in Brooksville had her 94th bday on Monday when I arrived! She's really spry, except for very poor vision. I've already tackled her kitchen & today will do the fridge--she loves her "RediWhip," but 12 cans of it? She just can't see what she has in there. :( Actually, it's quite a challenge to clean for her, since I can't get anything "out of place," or she'll be totally helpless.

Y'all enjoy your Tday prep & have a great day! Safe travels to those on the road 8-)

Good morning all,
Just catching up a little before going into work. Funny how quickly you each have become like family. ;) I love seeing what you are up to, what your plans are & keeping up with where in the heck you each are (that's tougher than it sounds    )
One of these years, I'm going to be in FL or headed west with the rest of you. :D
It's cold here today (teens right now) but warming trend is coming (40's) for the weekend - going to get the travelin' van out for some exercise Friday or Sat.
I think I'm ready for tomorrow - going to cook full dinner, drop it at my son's house (DIL is having surgery today :( ) & then will go eat at one of my sister's - then just make the rounds to other sibs during the day.
Hope you each have a good day - stay safe & dry & warm.

Good Morning everyone,

Such a busy bunch this morning already. I'll be jumping into the fray in a while here too, although mine's not preparing for Thanksgiving dinner. More like picking up a few items from grocery store, banking and a few errands. Nothing doing here for Thanksgiving, so plan to just putter for the day. Maybe make Sassy some homemade dog biscuits and see if she will eat them. Made a turkey for me this past Sunday along with broccoli/cheese casserole (Green Giant), dressing and sweet potatoes, so tomorrow plan to make a turkey pot pie with mashed potatoes and the veggies will be in the hpot pie, then pumpkin pie for dessert.

For those wondering, no I haven't left for the far north yet. Next weekend. This next week will be busy getting ready, getting eye exam out of the way for new glass prescription, cleanng house, washing, baking a few cookies etc. I have the whole week, so it's not totally busy, busy type thing, just do some each day. A lot of my stuff is all ready out and just needs packing later in the week. Black Friday I am planning on going to a huge craft show about 40 miles north of here. Weather looks good for that adventure.

Happy Belated Anniversary to you Lori and Ernie. Red, drive safe heading south. Everyone else have a great day no matter what you are getting into.

Happy T day eve to all as well. We made it to Ozark, AL just north of FL pan handle before dark. Tried to stay away from those tornado warnings. Staying at a nice KOA. We lucked out and it did not freeze last night. Middle 30s. About 45 right now and doubt it'll get much warmer. Seems that every where I look between here and Jacksonville is going to have a big freeze tonight. So, I guess it doesn't matter if we stay here or go there. My relatives are in Jacksonville and St. Augustine. We are going to celebrate T day on Sat because we thought we'd be stuck in red Bay till today :P Lots of decisions. Meanwhile, it is not raining and it is approx 40 outside, so I got out and emptied and flushed the tanks. Filled fresh water. Haven't had anything connected since we left home because of freezes or heavy rain or mud. But this KOA has a nice cement pad and it is not muddy and I don't have to slosh around to complete these tasks. Everyone stay safe and warm. Aloha.

Good Morning,

I have been without Internet except phone for a few days - refused to pay for extra data this month!! So I have been reading just no long responses. Finally getting around to reading some of the blogs and Introductions. I chuckled over comments in one Intro about full-timing in small spaces - me in my truck camper :)

2 1/2 weeks in the same place! Unfortunately, the weather here has really had me down - humidity, rain, wind. So different from when I was here 5 years ago! Hoping it will be better when I come back in January because this is such a great place to walk. It has been great to get some things done, but yesterday, for the first time in a very long time, I was feeling a little bored. :o

I'm sorry I have made all my reservations in Florida as there are so many of you here I could have traveled around! Still, I will catch up with many of you.

Hope everyone has made it through the storms okay!

Red, you snuck in. Glad to know you are safe and where you are headed!

Good Morning All, Yes, I agree, it is difficult keeping up with everyone and where they are or traveling. So many are in FL. It would be nice to be there with you and the gtg's.
I received my Christmas present from the kids and grandkids..a new iPAD!!!!! I played with it all day yesterday and today am going down to the Apple store to get some help on things I could not do.
Barbie...you are brave going out on BF...hope you get that kayak you want. I go over to my daughters for dinner tomorrow. Two of her sons are out of town so it will be a quiet day. On Friday I'm going to lunch with a couple of friends to a Greek Chicken restaurant I've heard about. Suppose to be good.
The weather person keeps promising rain, but, so far, no sign of any.
Everyone, stay safe, and enjoy the day. lyn

Good Morning to All from warm sunny San Carlos Mexico (I'm sorry the devil made me do it.) It is beautiful here though. We are still in San Carlos and will be here until Friday. Found out one of the restaurants here is making a traditional Norte Americano Thanksgiving Dinner so we decided to partake of it. And we've made friends with our neighboors and been dragging them all around the area - they don't have a toad.
Yesterday we went to a little fishing village where a whole bunch of famlies live in old campers, trailers andd 5th wheels. Some one had a good idea I guess. Several of them have outhouses too.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Travel safe and don't eat too much. Hopefully weather will change for the better.

Good Afternoon… morning passed Took Shadow for a run in the dog park he did his business and we then went to the club house… poor dog had to stay outside… finally I brought him home and went back for an hour of visiting with people coming and going…
Tomorrow we have a huge Turkey Ham & pot luck dinner… that should be very nice…
Am catching up on rest…
Have an appointment at Camping World for the 6th to get my toilet swapped out… then I will be able to have water hooked up… living out of gallon jugs now…
Congratulations on the anniversary Lori and Ernie… everyone else have safe travels and enjoy what ever you are doing…

There is a tiny bit of morning left here - at least as I start this so Good Morning

Weather was so bad and forecast to get worse yesterday that I cancelled both my dentist and eye appointments Eye appointment not that important but I hope I don't regret missing the dentist appointment.

Still unseasonably cold and very windy here. I'm trying to talk myself into getting dressed and going to grocery store - Wednesday is my normal shopping day and senior discount day.

Niece will start chemo treatments after Thanksgiving. Neither we nor doctors were able to change her mind about radiation but doctor says her chances for full recovery are still very good, just might take a bit longer.

No big plans for Thanksgiving other than to remember all the wonderful things I have to be thankful for in my life.

Have a good day and try to stay warm.

It is early afternoon here and a cold but sunny 26 degrees that the weather people say feels like 14 with the wind brrr :!: :!: . I know, why am I not in Fl :? :!: It was such a warm winter last year we were spoiled, looks like we are making up for it now. My furnace is set on 72 and it says 69 on my little thermometer, not sure what that is about. The back room where the TV and my computer is nice and toasty though as there are additional electric heaters .
Today feels like a holiday for some reason. We are going out for dinner tomorrow so I am just relaxing & trying to stay warm today.
