Good morning, KarenS, Ava, and all those who follow...

Yipee!!! Another night of a full 7 hours sleep (minus a 2 minute potty run... ) :) Must be I'm getting back to a normal sleep pattern....I'm not knocking it.... ;) I take it as a sign that my body is healing and getting back in shape...I do know that I have more energy.... ;)

Looks like this maybe the last day for awhile for mid 70s temps cause of the cold front coming from the west...at least it won't be as cold as it will be up north...

Okay, need to go and catch up with all of you...but the coffee and the sweet rolls are hot and ready...help yourselves...

Have a great day, all..

Good Morning from snowy Northern Michigan too,

Snow and wind is the word for next two or three days here, so hunkering down inside and working on various little projects. First clean house this morning. And probably "let Sassy in, let Sassy out" most of the day. She loves this kind of weather and lays on my deck till she gets snowy and cold, then comes in, goes to her warm bed for awhile and back out again later. I need an automatic door opener on my patio dor

Speaking of Sassy, she and I are both pining for Tesssa of late. Well, I am anyway. Sure do miss having that ball of fur around here. With Sassy having lost her hearing for the most part, it's pretty quiet around here as she doesn't bark and anything anymore, no counter surfing like Tessa did  , not as much snuggling up against me on the floor, wanting in bed with me once in awhile etc., like Tessa did. Guess I haven't gotten over my grief stage yet. It's hard to tell what Sassy is feeling, whether or not she misses having a "furry" companion around or not. But come spring I think we may be in line for a new four legged member of the house If a planned litter of collie pups cmes to frutation.

So am heading off to push the dust rag and vacuum around here and then get into other little things. Have a wonderful day everyone, keep warm and those who may be traveling along the southern routes especially TX, watch that winter storm, looks nasty.

Good morning ladies! Cold (for us) and supposed to stay in the 40's today. Been watching the news with my coffee and see most of Texas having really bad weather. Many of you are headed that way, so keep an eye on things and stay put somewhere. I am headed to the Vanity fair and lee outlets today to get some blue jeans, am taking granddaughter with me. Should be a fun day. Its funny to watch her shop, she is a duplicate of her Mom! And wont buy anything unless its "on sale". Have to take a steam mop back to Wmart. Ive had two that have given out. I dont know what to clean this expanse of white tile flooring in my kitchen with! I remember Nan had it in almost her whole house! No wonder she sold it! You all have a FUN day, and those traveling remember Pedro and the beach are at the end of the journey. Wendy

Good morning all,
Cold here. 20 now, 30 high for the day & 15 tonight. Thankfully no precip though.
Not much going on - clean house today then tomorrow going to my sister's for our second annual Peanut Brittle making GTG. :D Doing this instead of gathering on Thanksgiving day. ;)
Baby brother & wife get in on Tuesday - can't wait to see them.
Spotted an reasonably priced airstream trailer for my other brother (but it sold before he saw it) - he introduced me to Holiday House trailers - sweet!

Good morning all! :D

Yes, I'm in St Cloud, a beautiful sunny morning at Soos's DS/DIL's place!!! Great people--was yakking with them til almost 9 p.m last night :o Hope all of you travelers got out of Texas before all that stormy weather came through....Sue, sorry to hear of your blues :( I think many of us have gone through the same, & one never knows when those sweet memories will pop up to remind us how much we miss our little ones...

Good tips on the stuff to seal around windows. I haven't checked yet, but since I've had my HB over a year now, better get on that!...

Here's the scoop! Sis left on Thurs, & yesterday I took bro to train sta in Orlando--only about 30 mins from Soos! So we planned our gtg on the fly! Now that family is gone, I need to find out who & where everyone is down here. Linn contacted me & that looks like a go. Donna, they did let me know you're not far from here, too, but you're east, & I need to head west (Brooksville) for a bit. HOWEVER I will be back in this area sometime during the first couple weeks of Dec to gtg with Anita & Red while they do their Disney thing :P Maybe we should start a thread of "who's in FL & where?" so we can all check in & have mini gtgs before Hillsborough???? I'll be bouncing around FL for the next couple months, but this time using Brooksville as my "home base," rather than Ocala....

Okay, off for more coffee. I slept in late (til 6:30-ish!), Soos got woken by my dogs barking at a herd of cows going by  , & now we're both catching up on our morning routines. Just absolutely lovely here!!! Y'all have a great day & SAFE travels for all of you on the road. Looks like a ton of us are out there 8-)

Good Morning,
This weekend is the opening of deer season here and Toby alerted the neighborhood at dawn that there were several strolling though the area  Sounds like Carolb's little ones are on cow patrol!

I'm heading to the indoors farmers market and then to yoga this morning. It is 33 now and supposed to get down to 18 tonight!!! Baja and Florida sounds good on cold mornings like this especially!

It's 10* this morning...hey that's up from the 2* yesterday! ;) We had a skiff of snow Thursday night...not enough to cause any problems except for being a little slippery. Coffee is on if you want some. My sister informed me that I was in charge of potatoes, dressing and buns for Thanksgiving. Made the Dream Potatoes last night so they're done...great make ahead and take recipe if anyone is interested. The buns are raising right now and I'm going to use Stove Top for dressing. Making sure I don't have the Wednesday night rush to get things done.
Good news is that youngest son has secured a nursing position at the hospital where he has been doing his proctorship and where he has been a CNA while in college. They had a nurse resign on Monday and he was asked if he was interested in the position before they would advertise. He graduates December 13 and will start on December 30.
We have a great horned owl that has taken up residency in a grove of trees by our house. I haven't seen it but have heard it, Dennis has and says it has about a 5' wing span. It's making all of us with pets a little nervous. We've noticed a decline in feral cats, squirrels and rabbits in the neighborhood. I doubt it could pick Radar up and carry her away but could certainly do some damage trying. Little Max next door...all 5 pounds of him would be in trouble. So we've all been on pet patrol when we let them out in the early morning and in the evening...that's causing some problems with Radar because she does not like anyone to watch her while she's taking care of business. Funny...doesn't bother her to sit and stare at us while we're on the loo.
Well have a good day...time for me to get busy.

Good Morning All, I had a nice day yesterday with a friend in a wc. Took her to the new library and wheeled her all over. Then the sun came out so we went to my favorite site in Coronado for lunch. Sun is on the way for today also. Nothing much going on around here today...football, reading and taking Casey for her walks. Have a safe day those in the storm area. lyn

The morning is just about gone and I had accomplished nothing.
Sad to see Tina leave so soon but really enjoyed her brief visit and opportunity to gtg with others yesterday (see gtg section for more).
The temps stayed up for her visit but they are falling today and really diving by tonight. Sounds like we may be in for a very cold nasty week before Thanksgiving. I have plenty that needs attention here in the house so will stay put until appointments next week.
Tooth still bothering me so gave up and made dentist appointment for Tue (soonest I could get) and already have eye appointment for Wed. Think I'm going to need new glasses even if prescription does not change as my glasses are badly scratched.
Going to try to be good this afternoon and get back to my "to do" list.
Have a safe day and stay warm.

I made it home from the Lafayette GTG. The weather is sure messy today. I hope the travelers get out of it. I think it's down to 52.

I first met Liz and Carol at a GTG in Abbeville almost 7 years ago. It's hard to believe it's been that long. It was good to meet Nan and see Chris, Gloria and Carolyn again even though it's only been a week since I saw them.

It's getting colder as the day goes on, but I am safe and warm and dry at Vickie's in Sulphur. Looks like winter for the next several days....southern winter anyway. Glad you got home safely, Martha. It was good to see you and the others again, and to finally meet Chris.

I guess I shouldn't complain that I'm cold while it's 60 or so here in California, eh? But it'll be in the upper 30's when I get off work ... I can't wait to get far enough south in Baja to put these temps behind me ... And it won't be long now!

Stay safe, all of you - on the road or not.

Good evening. DH and I drove through tons of rain to our CG in LA. Wonderful to meet Liz and Nan for the first time! Wish we could have had more than just one night to visit. Martha was at the CG as well. Then Carolyn and Gloria picked the 4 of us up and we all went to Crawfish Town, USA. It was really nice to see Carolyn! Gloria and Martha again so soon. We were in Bandera last weekend for a gtg. We had for a wonderful time filled with great food, fun and lots of laughter  I had the crawfish sample platter. Crawfish prepared every imaginable and I ate it all :P We left today and drove till dark and landed at a CG in Starkville, MS. Will be 27 tonight. Brrrrrr. Headed to Red Bay, AL tomorrow. Everyone stay warm and safe. Aloha
