It's supposed to rain here today - but not yet and I'll be heading to bed soon. Maybe I can sleep to the raindrops on the roof :)

I just discovered that it's a good thing I rarely turn the tv on ... as NBC's morning program is already on - wow, it's morning on the east coast! Just saw the Blue Sky Riders singing Dream Lyrics and discovered I really like the lyrics to that song. So I just looked them up on line. Spelling and grammar is poor, but I'm just copying and pasting:

(First Verse)
Who are you to tell me what I cant do-well that aint right
As if all Ive beens all Im ever gonna be for the rest of my life
You take the glory days, Ill take whats on its way
All I can do is believe in myself-if I listen to you I might as well

(CHORUS)
Leave me in the rain-send me out to sea
Lock me up in chains-throw away the key
The day I ever get too old to dream
Do you even have a heart-what good would that be
I may be walkin, talkin but it wont be me
The day I ever get too old to dream

(Second Verse)
In my heart I can still hear the drummin and I dance to the beat
I wanna be the one whos gonna follow the sun and trust the heat
These are the glory days-cant let em slip away
No one can tell me my best days are done-no one but meand if that day comes

CHORUS
LEAD GUITAR
CHORUS - ends with "to dream" 4 times

I agree - the day I can't dream - you can send me out to sea.

Good morning Beth & all to follow :D

Catching up on a couple days of posts! And can't find the quick msg I posted yesterday a.m., so I probably closed out my laptop before sending it

Soos, I was reminding you to look out your window at 1:28 for the launch  Sounds like you're having a great time "babysitting" & had a great weekend with the kids....Red, I hear you about the solo thing--you're that kind of WOMAN! Midwest peoples, such a scare with the storms, but glad everyone is fine. Sarah, yes, your niece is lucky to have you cheering her on...Anita, that Leroy  Martha, glad you had a safe trip! .....& others, having fun & overcoming "sucky" weather, colds or just having great fun, etc! Glad to catch up with all of you!

The launch events were so exciting--Sunday, we toured the space center, ending with Bill Nye (yes, he's fabulous & funny!) speaking for over an hour. Then the bus tour of the facilities, with Bill Nye taking the vacant seat next to bro who was sitting in front of me & sis! Got to go inside the VAB! Sarah, I thought of you/your hubby since I had read your post about him working for NASA & the visits you had. The tour ended with a visit to the launch pad with the MAVEN rocket ready to go the next day. Stood outside in the warm late afternoon air, watching the sun go down behind it! Then yesterday, the waiting, the clouds approaching, the anticipation...& it lifted off as scheduled! AMAZING!!!

Bright & sunny this a.m. in FL. My next adventure will be a gtg with Soos when I take bro to Orlando train sta on Friday! You ready for me Soos????

Y'all have a great day & be safe always. Life is so much better with all of you out there sharing your stories/lives here on the forum! I never travel alone!!! :P

Good Morning!

Carolb, glad to know the launch and tour was such fun and with Bill Nye!! Cloudy in my neck of the woods.

The Texas GTG sounded like a whole lot of fun! Thinking I'll have to stop in that area in February.

Yesterday was hot and very sticky!! I went out to empty tanks and put ant bait down. Neighbor saw me and brought his ant bait which he insisted on using - so the ants got a double whammy. :) Thought I'd sit in the shade and read while tank flushed, but another neighbor and then his wife came over. Later in the day filled fresh water tank and another neighbor stopped. Three of them commented they were glad to see I was okay - I tend to be a hermit when I want real down time.

I filled the fresh water tank, unscrewed the water filter from the faucet and there was a baby lizard on the filter screen - ACK! Will drain the tank today.

Made my first call to Dodge dealer to start the ball rolling for a new truck when I get back to Arizona in February. See the $$$$ flying!!

Enjoying all the traveling and planning particularly for the Baja trip. Wish I was out west to go along!

Good Morning… thank you Beth for waking me up with a song…

Sunny here today… left the furnace on in Bright Hope… but have't checked it yet… was in mid to low 20s last night…

Anita it is good to know people are watching at a far and would help you if you did have a crisis…

I got a lot done yesterday… put duct tape on the skiting of my mobile home… hopefully that will keep the critters out while I am gone… sorted things… Margie got the dog food and coffee I was going to get Sunday when the storm hit… my granddaughter in law saved a baseball sized piece of hail and has it in her freezer… we are so thankful we are ok… still praying for the people in Washington, Il as they pick up the pieces...

I so want to go to BAHA with the gang… just being with you all would be fun… enjoy..

Take care everyone
Kathy Kathleen

Kathleen, you are so right! One couple offered to let me go grocery shopping with them when they go and always there are people who will say, 'If you need anything....' What a great bunch RVers are.

It has been an eventful morning already. Headed off to work at the usual time and made a quick stop for coffee at my favorite little coffee shop in town before getting on the turnpike for the long drive downtown. Well, sure enough the car would not start when I came out of the coffee shop. Not a click, not anything. First, panic. Second, a few choice words. Third, now what -- I have an important meeting in one hour!

Finally, realized I was only two blocks from the shop where we take the cars for oil changes. Walked over and they were open and ready to help. Sent a guy back with me to check the battery. Sure enough, dead as a doornail. The mechanic walked back, picked up a new battery, carried it to my car and installed it. Then, we drove back so I could pay.

This is the second time this has happened when near this auto shop. The last time, we were at the library across the street and the van battery went kaput. The shop saved the day. The owner laughed and said he didn't want me to think there was something about his shop that sucks the life out of our batteries everything we get close to his shop. No, I think the Lord took care of me. I am so thankful this happened here in my little town where I could get help, instead of a problem downtown or somewhere else. That would have been a disaster, since my family is out of town this week and I live so far from work. At least here in town I could always call someone to pick me up or even walk home if necessary.

Anita, glad to see your neighbors are keeping an eye on you and are willing to help. While waiting for the mechanic to come back, a woman came out of the coffee shop and asked if I was OK. I don't know her, just see her there every morning when I buy coffee. I always thought no one notices much, but that really isn't the case. It is reassuring that people do pay attention.

Anita, my DH got a new Ram 1500 a couple of weeks ago. I have decided they need to make vehicles for old folks instead of one with all the new buttons and gadgets. I got home last night and his truck was in the drive way with the radio and the inside lights on. He thought it was off. Half the time he can't get the key FOB out. I read the 3 pages in the service manual about the FOB and remote start and it's greek to me.

Funny about the RAM trouble. I had a Serius radio installed in my motorhome before I picked it up. Never have been able to figure out how to turn the radio off--after a few minutes, it shuts off on its own, but no buttons. I found the manual and am going to try to figure out how to set channels and do some other things next week when I have some free time.

Old car, old battery and hot Florida sun. It was time for a replacement.

Judy, do you take your MH keys out of the ignition after you shut the engine down but NOT getting out of your rig? If you don't, chances are the radio won't turn off. My VW is like that. Every now & then I'll sit in the car and listen to the radio while I'm waiting for something or somebody. It'll play for about 5 minutes with the key left in the ignition, but shuts down immediately if I take the key out. Just a thought …

Turn off engine, take keys out, get out of vehicle, slam and lock door....radio still on. Turns off after 4-5 minutes.

Other funny thing, when I first got vehicle and left for California, could not for the life of me figure out how to turn the radio on. It is a combination back-up camera, FM & Sirius XM radio, and CD player that was an add-on. (I think the dealer just west to Radio Shack because it had a sticker on the empty box they gave me.) I think it can play DVDs, but I don't know for sure. Might find out next week. My motorhome originally had a radio that was only FM and was a back-up camera, but I told the dealer I had to have satellite radio, so they installed this monster.

As I drove, the back-up camera was working fine, and I could touch the screen and see the channels displayed briefly. (The screen reverts back to back-up camera in a couple of seconds.) Drove two months and well over 4,000 miles before I discovered that the radio WAS on, but I had not adjusted the volume!! Volume was so low I could not hear it. Accidently hit the volume button one day and turned it up. Yea!

Sounds like it's just not wired into the vehicle properly. If you can find a reputable audio shop (maybe even a Best Buy in Palm Springs, if you're heading that way), they can probably fix it in a few minutes.
