My daughter Mandy is treating me to a long weekend at a beachfront condo on Anna Maria Island with two of her friends. The weather has been perfect; breezy and sunny. Good food, lots of wine, spectacular sunsets and great company. I even ventured into the water!

Hope you all have a relaxing weekend.

Good Morning !! Oh Joan, your week end sounds fabulous, Enjoy for all of us :D !! My week end will be VERY different. I have been gone all week, starting to get cool up here, so my time for all that I must do is getting short. Will leave here shortly after the leaves come out, I hope. Although they say they will be late in this area this year. I know mine are falling, one huge job on the list today. My huge deck in back is loaded and front porch also. No color just brown :?

I am not happy to be here and really uneasy about it. I had a weirdo break in to one of my sheds while I was gone, he thought he was going to sleep in there. He had his 3 dogs with him and neighbor dog, spotted them.. I know the man and he has very strange ideas, his wife and I, are friends, but I have always been somewhat afraid of him. Neighbors called and wanted to know about him and I ask them to call the law and tell them I was afraid of him and never wanted him on my property. I am alone here most of the time, neighbors are very busy and involved people, so seldom home. So I will be watching over my shoulder, mowing, washing RV, raking leaves all that stuff that has to be done. His wife and I, are not close friends, because I have never liked him at all so never encouraged a close relationship with her. She has left him and we chat on the phone and she wants some of my furniture. and I am concerned about her, she needs to just leave the area, but won't , she worries about him. He needs help and to think he tried to convince my neighbors and police that we were friends and I would not mind him being here. I was soooo glad I was not here but the whole situation gives me the creeps !!

Enough of my troubles, there are more :(

Have a good day all, enjoy whatever you choose to do, wishing I could join Joan  Those traveling, stay safe and enjoy the trip to wherever !!!

CArol :)

Off to Tulsa this morning to have lunch with my dad and favorite aunt and uncle. 70 mile drive but an easy one straight north. Back on the road tomorrow headed home. After the report from Tx and NM I'll keep a closer eye on the weather. When I checked it a couple of days ago it just said breezy. Evidently my idea of breezy and the accuweathers idea are worlds apart! If it gets to bad I'll just drop south to the 10. Not like I don't have options.

Hope did great getting here to Checota, no issues at all. Hope it continues that way at least until I get home! LOL! Nice little PA park here, 25 for 2 nites and good wifi. Less than a half mile from Lake Eufala and a boat ramp. If I had more time it looks like a great place to kayak.

Gotta get moving, have a great day all! CArol be careful.

Quick good morning! Walking and feeding Tyler. Then getting dressed and driving up to Austin for the day. My friend (we were teachers together in Hawaii in the 80s) is visiting Austin this weekend with her daughter to look at the law school at UTA. We are going to see the Broadway musical "Book of Mormon" matinee and then to my fav Austin restaurant for oysters.
It's suppose to rain on and off all day. So I'm leaving early to give me lots of extra time. Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha

Beautiful weather here in Sarasota. Playing lots of tennis and time in the gym. The park is crowded this weekend for the annual Halloween activities. Today I will be out volunteering for the various children activities set up and maybe tonite will go around helping to decide on the 3 best decorated RVs. tGM went and brought back our van from our sons house, so now I can come and go without leaving him stranded :). Stay safe either at home or traveling and enjoy the weekend.

Good morning. Cold and misty here, but it's still the most beautiful time of year.

CArol, being aware and on alert is a good first step. Trust your instincts. I'd repeat to the neighbors and police how uncomfortable you are and ask for advice.

I wonder if my wine tasting guests know I clean up after the bear in the morning and run the honey wagon in the afternoon.... What? I wash my hands...

Have a great day!

Good morning everyone!

It's another damp, raw and gray day in MD. The system that's been hanging over us is supposed to get out of here and by sunset tomorrow, there is a chance we may see the sun. Maybe the beginning of the week I can get outside and clean the yard from the branches and limbs that fell as the front came through.

Today the family is meeting for lunch to celebrate Dad's birthday. Some friends will join us as well, so it should fun. On Monday, his actual birthday, I'll prepare a German dinner for the family still in town.

Tomorrow is the Sunday I play in church. I was also asked to play last week for the church's 140th anniversary. I need to my music together for tomorrows service.

good morning ladies
lots to do these next few days, fall break for the school district and me getting ready for the trip to San Diego. Departing here Thursday
morning. The weather here is fabulous right now and I'm hoping the weather in San Diego is fabulous too, I just don't know what to expect as I've never been there for any length of time. Friday will be the birthday party and then Saturday the ladies all go to the pedicure and manicure place. I've never had either so that will be an experience.
Daughter has hair and makeup lady for us all on Sunday morning and then of course the wedding. Will return home the
following Monday which is a workday but they will have to cover my run. I hope to be able to have enough time to myself that I can check
out the area and plan for a future get away since it is actually very close. I hope dogs are allowed on the beach cause thats one of the
things I want to do....walk on the beach, smell the ocean and watch the tide roll in and out. Think it will be fun to watch Maggie run
from the water as it tries to nibble on her toes. We will be in the area of La Jolla and Pacific Beach and if anyone has any suggestions
of must see's while I'm there, give me a hollar and I'll put it on my list of stuff to "work in" on my schedule. :D
Lots of other stuff going on my life right now as well, checking into social security next month to see if its something I want to do or wait.
Also...maybe a Pace Arrow in my future, details later so stay tuned.
Big RV show at the stadium tomorrow, would be fun to go but all my funds are spoke for right now :D
Coffee is fresh but theres no donuts or muffins, perhaps a bowl of oatmeal will do.
CArol...perhaps a padlock on the shed will help you rest a little easier.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Anna Maria Island! Oh, JoanE, you are having fun!

Carol, I agree with Amy -- remind your neighbors and the police about the incident. Carry your cell phone. Those are probably unnecessary precautions, but being prepared never hurts. If you have a neighborhood watch, talk to whoever organizes it. I'd also talk to everybody again before you leave. It's miserable to feel insecure in your own place.

It's beautifully sunny and bright here. More painting for me today!

There are more? Carol, don't be afraid to share your troubles here. Knowing of other's troubles make my own troubles seem not so large. We all have troubles and talking [writing] about them helps, I think.

No sun yet, here in Bodega Bay. Yesterday was cold, damp, windy, and foggy ALL DAY! Had a high of 60 and low last night of 41--about froze just to take out the trash. OK, I know I am getting to be a wimp after leaving Michigan and spending all this time in warm places, but it was SO cold! And my propane is down to 1/4 of a tank. No place close by, but will make it to Monday when I have to pack up and move a few miles anyway, so will drive off to find a refill.

My son and grandkids are on their way to spend the night. Told them to bring warm clothes, so I hope they do. The fact that I have on a long-sleeved shirt and long pants is evidence of how chilled I was all day yesterday. Like Tioga George, my mantra has been "t-shirts and shorts" weather for the last year plus!

Clouds are a little thinner so hopefully sun will break through. It is sunny and warmer just a couple of miles inland, which is frustrating, but it is so beautiful here with views of the ocean and bay.

Carol, please go into the police station in person every time that man does something to scare you. Make sure ALL of the police officers and sheriff or whatever know what is happening and that he is NOT your friend, no matter what he tells them! And maybe get one of those motion lights installed as well. I don't think they are very expensive. That guys wife is nuts for staying around, too!

Ava, here is a link to the dog beaches in and around San Diego...

http://www.sandiego.org/articles/pets/c ... diego.aspx

One of them is in Ocean Beach not far from Pacific Beach. La Jolla is a beautiful town! Very expensive shopping but "window" shopping is free! :D The parks on the cliffs are beautiful! Torrey Pines Glider Port is fun. Mission Bay is a nice area near Pacific Beach with lots of trails around the "bays" and sandy beaches. Seaport Village in San Diego along San Diego Bay has lots of cute shops and restaurants. Balboa Park has several museums, gardens and the zoo to visit. You can take a boat (or drive over the bridge) to Coronado Island which is a fun place to explore (there is a dog beach there too, next to the Hotel Del Coronado).

As far as what to wear, it is cooler along the coast than it is inland, especially at night, so bring a sweater or light jacket. It is typically around 70 at the beaches but depends on the wind, sun (or lack of) and time of day/year. Mornings can be cool until the marine layer (fog) burns off. The further inland you go, the warmer it gets.

Almost got to a breaking point yesterday with my dad. I was a wreck by the time I got home after carting him around all over hell and gone. Every one of my days off, and then some, are consumed with taking him to doctor appointments, bank, grocery store, etc, etc. I guess I really need a break! Tomorrow I have the day off, but I told him I am working. I plan to do something fun. Not sure what yet, but will see what the weather is like.

Time to get something to eat...(and maybe a drink too  )
