Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thundering Thursday

Chance of storms today and next two also. About to take ex DH to his twice daily morning IV antibiotic therapy for a stubborn lung infection. Making progress on finding ALF for him but they are expensive in this area.

no time to make the morning coffee. Mickey D's it is.

have a good day all.

What's an ALF?

Oh, doesn't an Egg McMuffin sound delicious?
Or a Bacon/Egg/Cheese Bagel?
And Hash Browns...

Good morning Joan, Mitch & everyone!

Joan, good luck on your search!

Mitch, I think Joan is talking about looking for an assisted living facility for him.

It's 64 degrees in MD this morning! It hasn't been this warm, this early in a long time. We'll get into the mid 80's today and for the next couple days.

Lots has happened since I last posted. Although Dad initially said he wanted to try living in his house for a year or so, he has now decided to move into the assisted living home he put the down payment on the first of November. He said he is paying too much for the round the clock care at his house and can stay at the other place for about 1/3 the cost. My brother is going to make a drawing, to scale, of the room he'll be moving into so he can decide what furniture he wants to take with him. Dad has started giving me some of Mom's coats and jackets, as I am the only person in the family that wears the same size. Dad's birthday is coming up in a couple weeks and we're planning a small celebration for him. I'll be making one of his favorite German dinners to serve to the family.

Today is grass cutting day and I think I'll take advantage of the nice weather and hang the bed linens out to dry. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, Joan & Mitch, and all that follow...

Been up since 3:05am.... :? Had some wine last evening and thought it would do the job getting and staying asleep...but NOT....I didn't take the Tyonal PM because of the wine... Oh, well, will get a nap in...maybe in an hour or so....

We're doing some shopping later....then just chill, after... ;)

I hear the rooster here, letting us know that it's morning....  They still have their chickens here...good thing Spinner is on a leash or a "tie out" when we are out and about or the chickens would be "fair game" for him....learned that lesson at our friends house, remember?

Got the "less than $75 "co-pays" of my out-patient stuff from my "summer of the surgery" paid yesterday.... Now to work on my share of the over $100 ones....but lucked out that our retired bennies with the military paid most of the total.... ;) They do 75%, we do 25%.....and before someone asks....the "new Healthcare" system doesn't affect our medical insurance benefits....nor the VA benefits....thank God....our limited income couldn't handle the change....

Okay, got the coffee going here and did a batch of bacon and scrambled eggs with english muffins....Micky D's is a little too far for me....

Have a great day, all....will walk Spinner then go back to bed for a little while... ;)

ON EDIT: Good morning to Irmi, too....you were typing when I was....

Good Morning All!

Alarm went off at 6:15 to get me going as I need to leave here at 8:00 for my annual mammogram. Dogs are confused as to why we are up at this hour! Clear skies and 33 degrees here so far.

Irmi, it sounds as if your dad is making a very wise choice for himself and for you, too. He will have others to keep him company, others who have also lost their spouses as well and can share so much with each other. I am happy for you all.

Joan, you are a very helpful ex.....it's nice to know that not all relationships that grow apart do not turn into hate or indifference. After all, love does endure, even if you can't live under the same roof or if you no longer share mutual things in life. My kids' father and I still both live here on this property, each in his own house, and have never put one another down, at least I haven't.

Gotta get moving and take dogs out on leashes as the deer are always active at this hour, visiting this old apple tree for overnight falls, and I don't want a repeat of their chasing the deer. Kids come later today, and I'm looking forward to seeing them again after a two-week session of my being alone in the wilds.

Happy Thursday to all! Coffee is hot and tastes and feels good on this cool morning-----didn't turn on any heat in here. :)
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning all :)

??? ALF? Wasn't that a tv show about a fuzzy adorable alien ;)

Irmi, such news about your dad! Like someone said, he will have many friends there and may enjoy life more than being at home with nurses? Keep us posted.

Anita and I did the scenic drive but haven't gotten enough! We drove up to/thru Lake Champlain Islands and decided to head back to the Grn Mtns! Will do the west side today--or who knows?

Sharon, selling your house? Wait til next spring--I'm hoping to spend more time with you this winter lol

Off for more coffee. Y'all have a great day :)

Good Morning,

Irmi, how nice that your dad could make the decision and can plan his new home! That is so often not the case.

JoanE, so very nice that you are helping your ex.

I am so enjoying Vermont and Carolb's company! I had forgotten how tiring driving backroads in the east is with all the curves - but so beautiful.

Stopping at the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory was a fun yesterday.

Weather is going to change in this neck of the woods so leaf peeping won't necessarily be as good after today with clouds, possible rain. I will probably start the trek south tomorrow.

Sun is out so I should get moving. Carolb gets up soooo early, and she probably thinks I am still asleep because I haven't turned the generator on for coffee. We are parked such that I don't want to do that so settled for instant.

Have a good day all!

Good Morning Ladies, Carol you are in such a lovely area, and this time of year, oh the leaves must be gorgeous !! Its been years since I was up there in Oct and I still remember the vivid colors . Enjoy !!

Day looks a little dreary here, but then sun doesn't seem to pop out until the afternoon. Doesn't make much difference as to what I am working on, weather doesn't play a part. Sun does make my mood a little happier.

I'm waiting for medical records in the mail, I was notified while on the Blue Ridge, my dr. has closed his office. How's that for a shocker, now to find a good one, who will except an ole biddie on medicare. Many problems come along with this change of events, many decisions.

Leaves have not started to change around here yet, they are falling on my front porch and back deck though. Just dead, no color. That was the main thing I loved about this area was the fall color. We always came up to see the color, think everyone will have to make their trip later this year.

Well on with the day, wishing you all a Safe and Happy day whatever you choose to do with it.
CArol :)

We have started out on our annual trip to Mexico. Much earlier this year than others. Bill's allergies were acting up so bad in the woods at home that the doctor told him "to get out of town" could have slapped the doctor! Anyway we are in Lebanon, MO - stopped here before the weather took a turn for the worse yesterday and today we'll make the short trip to Branson for a few days. Finally convinced him to go there. We both want to see The Texas Tenors. Hopefully the weather won't be too bad. After that on to Utah to Monument Valley and maybe Moab -if its not snowing there. To Nevada and CA to see our kids and finally to MX - but not until NASCAR is over for the season.
We are in the big motorhome this year - the Alfa. Sold the small one after spending too many months in it last winter - I need my space!
Haven't been on here for a while so just wanted to check in and say Hi we are still around.
But don't even have coffee to share this morning - been waiting for The Driver to get up before making some. But soon we'll have some of the delicious Mexican pastries.
If you're on the road keep track of the weather - and drive safe.
Seems like everyone is posting at once - this is the fourth time I'll try to post

Seems as though a lot of us are having an early morning. I was up at six with the dogs but went back to bed for awhile it was still really dark out. Soos, 33 degrees and you didn't turn your heat on :o
I would like to be with Carol and Anita seeing the colors, I've never been east and I think I would like it.
Carol, wish you and the driver had come a bit farther south, we have a great Mexican bakery here. They are open early till late evening I keep trying to remember the name of the pastry you like so much. They bake such a large variety it is hard to decide. One of my favorites is a small almond flavored coconut cookie. I hope Bill starts to feel better as you head west.
CArol I hope you find a doctor, it is hard to find a good one. I keep worrying about how our insurance has changed this year, it is really scary.

Good morning all. I'd like to comment on everyone's morning greeting, but that would take an hour. Each of your are up early and out for various trips, errands and fun. I got up and got dressed and took Tyler for a 40 minute walk. Besides, being very healthy for me, Tyler really likes the walk time. Although he has 2 acres to run on, he really likes the walks. So, I am trying to walk hime like I do when we are in the RV. Good for him, good for me. Today is house cleaning day, so yall know what I'm doing!! Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha

Good Morning
Been having very nice fall weather here but that is about to take change for worse this weekend. Not much leaf color yet but some are already falling.
Have not been sleeping well so that means Nicky and I have spent many late night hours on porch listening to the sounds of the night. Must be loosing it as I noticed the song of a lone katydid past few nights. Feeling sorry for him as he sings for hours and not getting response from others.
Niece is having PET scan later today. Doctor has recommended double mastectomy and she has agreed but surgeon did not want to do anything until they could determine if other cancer present elsewhere thus the PET scan. Family history not in her favor.
A bit strange driving around town past few days. About 15,000 government employees plus even more contractor support personnel idled since government shutdown must be staying home - traffic unusually light, few out shopping, etc. Hope this insanity ends soon.
Have a good day
