Saturday before dawn...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday before dawn...

Postby carolb » Sat Sep 28, 2013 5:37 am

Good morning all! :D

Yep, still dark out here on the east coast, so I don't imagine a midwesterner will beat me to opening MC this a.m. It's the time of year when my sleeping habits return to being awake at 4:30! Well, that's because I'm asleep just after the sun goes down--now around 6:30 p.m.

I haven't caught up on "unread" posts, but there sure has been a lot of activity on MC. Joan, what a scare with the blow-out! Driving at 70 mph??? Glad you're safe....Wimp that I am, I rarely drive over 60!!! But, yes, tires are one of the most important "safety" issues of rving, eh?

I'll be meeting up with Anita on Tues for our VT leaf peeper trip. Looks like we'll have perfect weather & also be hitting the trees at peak color! Can't wait!!!
Haven't been anywhere since August & am itching to get on the road!!!

Wrapping up summer here...soon to be off for the winter!

Y'all have a great day & be safe always! 8-)

Good morning, Carolb, and all that follow....

Was up at 4:15am....had some coffee and played online for about an hour....then went back to bed....what's up with that???

Sun's up here and we're having a breezy morning....High to be about 80F....so it will be a nice day here...

Okay, more coffee needed...so I'll stop for now...

Have a great day, all...

Good Morning to All!

Another very cool (28 degrees here at dawn) but sunny day today. The thought of going into the house to do more "stuff" work simply is turning me off. Perhaps I will take the day off and enjoy a really beautiful fall day here in the mountains. I have beef stew ready in the crock pot which cooked all night, and now I will let it cool and put it in the refrigerator to eat tonight. I'll take some to my friend, Issy, down the road.

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

Good Morning! We had 2” of glorious rain last night! Haven’t had any measureable precipitation since the beginning of August. It’s going to slow down the harvest, but also going to eliminate the chances of field and combine fires. The fire department has been called out several times this week. Many of the area football games were stopped because of lightning and will be finished today. I’m looking forward to some relief from allergies because of the dust settling. It’s a cool 48 this morning and supposed to get up to 68, but the temps are headed back up into the 80’s next week.

Not much else new on the home front. I lead a boring life. :(
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good morning everyone. I have been trying to get outside chores completed in the AM when it is still cool. It still get in the 90s in the afternoon. Tyler and I took a nice long stroll and enjoy the beautiful, cool weather. Then, I got him up on the grooming table for brushing, nails, ear cleaning. He is so funny. He is well behaved but he keeps trying to hide his front foot. He thinks if he puts it off to the side, I can't find it. He's so silly. Yesterday, we washed all the bugs accumulated on my daughter's car from Seattle to Houston!! Then we tackled DH's truck....boy that's a job. Big ole F250 HD. Need a latter  This afternoon I will take my carpet shampoo machine to RED. RED has very little carpet. Just on the slides. But the area of the galley and specially near the refrigerator needs cleaning. (DH didn't shut the door tight and the it flew open and beer and soda fell out and exploded on the floor, carpet and wall.) Need to run the generator as well. You know, the normal maintenance. :P I'd much rather be on the road :P Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha, y'all

Good morning all,
Nice to see so many early birds.
Sounds like good news on the Mitch front - loved seeing the pic of the trio.
Sorry about your mom, Irmi - prayers are headed your way for the transitions your dad will be making.
Sarah, you are an old pro now - loved following your travels.
And Donna thanks for always letting us know when you've added to your blog. I think I might look into blogging some & see how easy or complicated it is for myself.
Happy to hear some of you are getting ready to journey south. In just a couple of years I'll be joining you.

My big news is .... I'm out camping!!! :D
Found a COE campground about 2 hours away - lovely lake setting & really cheap (for us seniors).
Had rain over night - still overcast right now but temps in the 60s - my idea of a perfect day . Sadie loves it because the only thing to do is walk & walk & walk some more. My site this weekend has direct lake access - a kayak would probably be cool - maybe next year. ;)

Already had coffee & Sadie is ready to get out again
Hope everyone has a great day.

Finished my Amazon training yesterday to be a trainer. This is a pilot program and the man who put it together and another on his team flew in and had a party for us last night. I'll start in Tracy in a little over a week. Leaving San Bernardino today. Will head to a national monument between the two and boondock there for two nights. I'm told I might have no device there. We shall see.

So nice to not use an alarm clock today. But better get myself in gear to head out by check out time. Normally I do lots the night before but did nothing.

I did get to meet azuzateach for dinner Thursday. What a treat that was. We've been going to meet for years. finally! And we chatted like we'd known each other forever. the only downside was how little time we had. :-(

Have a great day everyone.

So, Beth, what do your "Ambassador" duties include?
What shift will you work?

Mitch, I didn't know you were planning to go to Baja! :? Good for you! Are you joining up with Beth?

Cool, dreary, windy and rainy here this morning. Just had a front blow thru a few minutes ago so now it should start to clear up. Will be picking up my dad shortly and heading down to St Peter, MN for my nephew's wedding. Looks like it will clear up in just in time for the 4pm outdoor wedding! Yay!

Hope you all have a great day!

God willin' and the creek don't rise and the chemo don't deliver a knock-out punch! ;)

I plan to focus my energy on finding the Perfect Fish Taco along the Baja Coast.
And then learning how to duplicate it.

Good morning (afternoon?) all. Its a beautiful day here in KY, assuming its the same in sweet home Ala! Still getting used to being in the RV (camper as I call it) long term as opposed to camping. Do think about my house family and friends back home. Guess Im the only one in the group like this. However, other parts of my life are thr best that have happened in a long time, So I will adjust. Mitch, when you perfect those fish tacos invite me over, for fish and tacos are two words that don't seem to go together for me! So glad you got pretty good news BTW. I know many people who have beaten this. Ya'll have a great day. Be SAFE and HAVE FUN!!!!! Wendy

Good to see you post Wendy. Glad you are enjoying KY.

I was thinking about going to the Junior League craft show in Lafayette but DH came in with some fence panels to put up before I got away. Now I'm out of the mood. It looks like it wants to rain but don't see any on the radar. I wanted to go to Sam's too. Guess that will be a trip for another day.

I got to meet Laura at the RVW convention in San Antonio in 2009. There was a group of us that hung out for a week and had so much fun. Hard to believe it's been almost 4 years.

I still haven't tried a fish taco yet. The few times I could have ordered one I ordered something else. I'm not sure that a fish taco sounds good to me.
