Good Morning from KY

Had a wonderful visit with Amazon gang here in south central KY. Posted a couple of pictures for you in the gtg section.

One more stop in TN, then back home. Sad that my trip is coming to an end but know Nicky will be happy to see his fenced yard and be able to run and chase chipmunks again.

I am so behind on welcoming new members; sorry ladies but glad to have you here. Please consider adding your location to our member map. Great way to get to meet others who might be traveling in your direction or for you to find others along your trips.

Have a safe day.

Good morning to you, too, Sarah! I'm always a little sad when a trip ends . . . but then I start planning the next one . . .

GOOD MORNING SARAH AND ALL TO COME!

Another cold morning, but nothing like yesterday....I think it only got down to 31 last night instead of the 25 of yesterday. And my heater is working like a charm.

I walked around the property yesterday, including to the pond where I surprised a bunch of stopover geese, baked some pudding/chocolate chip cookies, delicious, by the way!), went through all old paper receipts I have stored in here since last year and tossed all out but for the most recent two months, gathered all my medical stuff from FL last year so they can copy it, and pretty much lolled the rest of the day.

Doc appointment today followed by mowing which I never got to yesterday.

Hope you all have a good day doing something fun!

Another beautiful, sunny morning. Running campground joke: "How many floods does it take to lift the fire ban?" Currently, we are without a punchline...But I am looking forward to cooking over the fire soon. Maybe by Christmas?

Sarah, you will just have to start planning your next trip. Every year I have to check the milage to the Florida GTG's and it's over 800 miles for me. One of these years I might make it. I want to go the Q too and that's 1,500 miles.

It's already 90 this morning. Our weather has usually started cooling off by the middle of September. The forecast has the high on Saturday at 82 but with a 70% chance of rain. We have gotten some rain every afternoon for the past 2 weeks. Wish it would give the rest of Louisiana a chance.

I need to go look for a new vehicle before our old truck becomes a yard ornament. I can't think of anything much worse to me than having to deal with a car salesman. Will probably get a small suv. We only need one truck but can't get something too small or my DH can't get in and out of it. I would like to get a Honda CR-V so I could tow it if I wanted to. I'm sure my DH doesn't think much of that idea. I would get something used but the price difference between something 2 years old and new is only a couple of thousand dollars. That doesn't make much sense to me.

I was thinking about going to town but my son has a dentist appointment tomorrow and his car is still in the shop so I'll just wait until tomorrow. The last 3 times I went to Lafayette it was so hot that I didn't feel like shopping.

Still hanging out in SW Arkansas. We've had a few days that I didn't need the a/c but today isn't one of them. The nice thing is I haven't had to use it at night for a week now. Yay!

Been thinking and thinking about my route home and if the weather is ok I'm thinking I'm just gonna hit the I-40 and head out. That means missing my relatives in Tx but for the first time in years I'm ready to go home. I think. We'll see.

Martha, if you had a friend in SoCal you could fly out and have a place to stay at Q! :D Sarah, it's not so far to Socal, I do it every year!

Sharon, I know you go through Texas for your syrup fix but I found a discount drug store in Lafayette that sells it. Let me know if you run out, I'll send you some. Or bring you some when I come to California. hehehe It's not so much the distance but the time. I hate to go so far and have to hurry home.

It is a beautiful morning here in Dayton. I have been staying at the Willamette Wine Country RV Park for a month and 3 days. I have enjoyed it here as it is close to my daughter and her family and there are so many beautiful wineries in this area. McMinnville, which is close by is an interesting little town. There are LOTS of little towns around here and they all have Farmer's Markets and festivals, especially this time of year.

While here, I found out the Oregon Chapter of the Escapee's Club was coming here for a rally so I decided since I was here anyway, I would extend my stay another 3 days so I could meet up with them. This would be my very first rally. They are all fulltimers and live at a co-op RV park called the Timbervalley Park in Sutherlin, OR. They were mostly couples but fortunately there was one other solo besides myself. Even if there had not been another solo, I would not have felt uncomfortable at all. They were just the nicest group of people, exceptionally friendly and very fun! I will visit their park in October and probably join their club as that will give me access to even more discounted parks. Through them, I found out rallying is great and I can't wait for the West Coast one this Saturday!! I am now broken in and hooked! :D

Time to pack up and head south. Since I am still fairly new to all this, I do get a little anxious heading out to somewhere I am not familiar with but excited at the same time. Hopefully, I will get in early enough to meet up with the others at the casino tonight. I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the rally on Saturday.

Let's hope the weather is as nice on the coast as it is here this morning!

I'm awake, I'm awake! It is still morning here in Oregon, but really cold. It went down to 36 last night and I had both the front furnace and my electric heater going in the back. My rear furnace still is not working so it is hard to get warm air back there.

I was up until almost 2:00 am last night figuring out the strange way my course software was adding up student grades. I think what it was doing was figuring percentages on things they did turn in, instead of zeros when someone did not submit something, so they got a higher grade than they should have. Can't have that, can we?? Anyway, I entered 0s for missed assignments, and it seems to be OK. Weird software is why I keep a duplicate grade book and compare.

I woke up this morning in the middle of a dream about being in a small tour bus that went over a cliff as part of a tour. Really startled me and I got out of the bus and was going to walk home! Glad it was only a dream as I do not relish a long walk up a cliff!

So, I need to finish analyzing the final exams and computing grades to be turned in tomorrow. When it warms up, I am headed to drive around Crater Lake. Then tomorrow I will be in California for a much needed rest before I go to my son's in Napa.
