Good Morning Maggie and all to come. Have a fun and safe trip south!! :P. Not much goin on here. It is cooling off at night and mornings! Spent the night in RED again due to DH being sick with a nasty cold. I'd like to watch my college football, but we don't get the PAC 5 here in TX. I haven't checked the satellite receiver in RED yet. Off to find coffee and food. Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Good Morning, Chris, Donna and all,

Donna, I can just feel the excitement of getting on the road again. New, not necessary to have a set in stone plan. The fun is in just going along and taking it a day at a time. knowing you are heading for FL is your goal, how you get there is up to you :)

Chris, camping out in RED these days huh. Well, one way to keep away from cold germs anyway. I know you are getting antsy to hit the road again.

And here I am, getting ready to get my TT put away for the winter. No more traveling this year for that, other than perhaps to dealer for winterizing although friend said he would blow out my lines for me, so that would save me some bucks.

Didn't get as cold her last night as predicted, so we escaped frost here. Won't have to worry about that for awhile now, not that I was anyway. Nothing for the frost to hurt around my place. Just kill off the summer flowers and then I will yank them out. Time for fall decorating.

Such a shame about the boardwalk at the Jersey shore. After all those businesses had been reopened after Sandy. And the flooding in CO as well. Chris, hope DH's son and DIL keep safe with all the water around them. And JoanE, hoping you can stay safe where you are as well. I'm sure it's a bit nerve wracking, watching and waiting to see if you are going to have to flee.

Off to get busy around here. Working outside on some yard projects as long as I have time to do them. Then won't have to bother with that in spring. Laying landscape ties and finishing off some fencing. Have a wonderful day all. Those of you who are on the road, have a great drive and enjoy.

Good morning, Donna, Red & all who follow,

Excited for you, Donna - enjoy the journey - don't worry about what's next - enjoy 'today'. Red, hope DH gets better - although staying in big RED probably isn't too much of a hardship. :D I thought about sleeping in mine last night just to do it!

It's in the 50's here this morning!!! Woohoo!!!!! :D :D :D Loving it! Sure hope it's here to stay.

Already took Sadie for a walk... have yard work that has to be done today (after being gone 3 weeks, things aren't too bad but still need tending to).

Concerned about Joan & anyone else close to the flooding... hope you are on high ground & reasonable dry... :)

Looked at the Florida GTG thread - wish I could make it but might have to wait until next year... I MUST get to one of our GTGs!!!!

Well, better get busy. Stay safe & enjoy the day!

Good Morning Ladies! Coffee is ready and I have some homemade Irish Creamer. Found the recipe on Facebook and it’s not even half bad!

Peggy was at Camp Cihak Thursday night for a too short of a visit. Really enjoyed meeting her. Unfortunately I had to go to work yesterday so we said our good byes Thursday night. Hopefully she was able to tour the Badlands yesterday and find a campground in Wall last night. By the way Peggy the lady’s name you met at Cottonwood is Belinda. Two of the correctional officers that used to work at the prison are now full-timers and were COE hosts at the campground where Peggy stayed Wednesday night. It dawned on me Friday morning when I was sitting in my car waiting for my car pool partner that we hadn’t taken any pictures! However I decided that she probably wouldn't be too excited about a photo session at 7:00 am!

No big plans for the weekend. A plumber was supposed to come after work yesterday but called and told me that he’d have to postpone until today, so I’ll be sticking around waiting for him to show up. No doubt I’ll be able to think of a hundred things and places I need to do and go because I can’t leave.

Found out last night that my BFF Missy’s daughter is going to have a baby about one month after my first grandchild is born. That will be fun because our kids have been raised together (fought like brothers and sisters but would take on anyone else who dared to try to cross them! ) and the two couples are good friends.

Have a wonderful day.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Mornin' all. I am up organizing what I am going to be taking for our GTG to the coast. I am leaving on Tuesday going to meet up with Beth in Coos Bay, OR as she is on her way to S. CA from Alaska for her new job. After that heading to the state park to meet up with the WomensRV group for our annual (2nd one so that counts...right?) 4 day GTG. Will be chilly at the coast (YAY) so need to pack some warm clothes. Hard to get motivated in that area when it has been 104 and 102 here. Cool down is predicted for here this week so will make loading the MH easier on Monday. Maybe even a little rain, which would be great considering how dry we are right now. They are a little worried about lightning so lets hope no more fires.

Finally my patio project is finished. What started out as a ceramic tile patio area turned into a "money pit" patio. However it is beautiful and my contractor was a perfectionist so it took longer. He even came by last night so he could water it down and make sure it had no pooling and adequate run off. WOW. Just glad I wasn't paying him by the hour. Now a couple of my other neighbors have been over to inspect and are having him do some work for them too.

Needing more coffee and hope everyone is going to have a good day
Karen

I just got back from the monthly dutch oven cookout. I was hoping my DH wouldn't want to go because it's HOT. There were about half the cookers there were last month. It seemed like there were more eaters than cookers. I would consider cooking something in a dutch oven and bringing it but I'm not up for hauling all the equipment that some of them bring.

Donna, I don't do much planing before my trips either. The only times I make reservations is for a GTG or holiday weekend. I try to not travel on a holiday. I never know what time I will be leaving or how many stops I might make or sometimes what road I might decide to take. I went to Washington state from Louisiana and back and only had reservations in Washington. My son had made reservations for me. I figure I have my bed and bathroom and if I can't find a campground I can stay in a parking lot somewhere. Have a safe trip. I would like to have the time to take two weeks to get somewhere.

Karen, glad your patio project turned out good. So many contractors care less about their work. I have several things I would like to have done but don't want to have to find someone that would do a good job.

Sue, you are packing up for the winter and here we are hoping it will cool off enough to go somewhere. I don't have a trip planned until the end of October. My sister and I might make it to the lake again if it cools off some.

I tried to get everything I thought I might need for the weekend yesterday so I wouldn't have to go to town. Thought of a couple of more things but think I can live without them until Monday.

Just got home from work. Was totally dead today! Don't know where everyone was but they weren't getting haircuts.

My ankle is almost healed now so no more limping! Yay!

Kathleen, your neighbor has already called it quits with the guy?? And she was all set to marry him a week ago! Maybe now she will realize you can't just up and marry a guy after two weeks of e-mailing!  (I flew to Colorado once to meet a guy I met on-line two weeks earlier. He wanted me to move right in with him but I said I wanted to take some time to get to know each other first. That wasn't good enough for him tho, so we never saw each other again.)

Getting ready for my Tupperware party tomorrow! I don't have a lot of people coming but it should be fun anyways.

I am going to start looking for a flight to Florida for January so I can stop at the GTG for a day or so, while visiting my friend there. Can't wait to meet all of you who will be there!

Hope everyone who has health issues/injuries, gets to feeling better soon! Those on the road, stay safe. Those in the flooded areas, stay high and dry!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hello Everybody. It's way past morning, but this is a good place to say "hi" to Pat and Dennis and thank them for a fun evening. I enjoyed every minute I spent talking with them. Next time I visit I want to see the farm.....do stop and see them when your traveling either east or west.
