It's a chilly, but beautiful Saturday morning here at the Links of Gettysburg golf course and wedding venue....

We are continuing our adventure at boondocking to attend Ernie's nephew's wedding here this evening......left the hayfield for the golf course...  both great places to enjoy the scenery and time with family.... ;) So far, boondocking isn't half bad....just have to watch the water level in the fresh tank and keep the genny filled with gas....running the genny only in the morning for coffee and the news and at night for computer use and a little TV.....

Got to use our Good Sam's roadside service yesterday....we picked up a nail in one of the 5er's tires....discovered it when we got here and started setting up....Ernie could have changed it himself, but couldn't get the lug-nuts loose, so we called Good Sam's....had to wait a little bit, but are very happy with the service....

Taking the day to relax and rest....Ernie's going to go get the tire fixed....so Spinner and I will watch the golfers chase the little white balls....

Have a great day, all..

just a quick good morning from Iron Mt, MI and Wal-Mart.
Have survived my first three nights boon docking - from deep dark woods of Nat'l Forest to noisy bright, brightly lit parking lot. Not half bad but will give you more of the adventure later when I have better Internet.
Think next two days will be driving near due east to get back to Mackinac bridge, then seriously southward.
Have a great day.

Good morning Lori, Sarah & all to follow :D

Well you two have seemed to survive boondocking--congrats! Not a bad way to camp, huh?

Did my two hour monthly maintenance run for my gen yesterday and am starting to get a real good clean in my HarBor. The little bit of carpet I have in there, well, I hear y'all about carpet in your rigs--I don't even like it in my house :x

Like so many of you, counting down the days/weeks til I'm on the road for the winter. For now, more coffee & more mundane S&B stuff!

Y'all have a great day & safe travels! 8-)

Good Morning from Clearfield, Pennsylvania,

I had my route planned yesterday and thought the GPS agreed. Suddenly, I was in Greenville, PA, which wasn't on my planned route! Had no idea how to contact Donna so just kept rollin' :( I did enjoy the countryside until the dang GPS put me on the freeway!

Today will be only a few hours on the road and then a laundromat!

Safe travels to those on the road and a happy day to all!

Good morning All. I am continuing my westward migration. Spent yesterday afternoon at Taliesin, Frank Lloyd Wright's home and school in Spring Green, WI. Today I will cross the mighty Mississippi at Prairie du Chien. Enjoy today.

Good morning everyone. Lots of boon docking! That's great! Reminds me that I Ned to go out and turn on the genie and let her run. It's been a month since we got back from our last trip and I didn't use it when I was over in Somerville for 2 nts. It is a bit cooler today. So I will spend some time cleaning RED. It'll get into the 90s today, which a relief from the 100+ we've been having. Have a nice day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

good morning ladies :D
glad to see ya'll enjoying some road time, and certainly am enjoying the trip vicariously through your posts and blogs.
Had a good rain yesterday evening and suppose to get more monsoon stuff today. I love the rain but could certainly
do without the humidity in this heat. Course it could be worse so guess I'll not complain too much, just looking forward
to the day I can be OUT of this. :D
Routine chores today.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe, and enjoy.

Good Morning... still no coffee pot so made one; boiled water put a filter in my strainer put that on a pitcher and made a cup wow it sure is good! I really liked my Keurig mini brew but it gave out... tried the vinegar wash but still did not work... guess it needs to go to the dump!

Glad Lori and Sarah are getting used to boon docking... I try to do that when I am going from one place to another and am on the road for a few nights... unless I find a corp of engineers park... Sarah do you miss home yet? how is Nicki doing on this long vacation? I think it would be great traveling with Liz she knows or finds out so many interesting things to write about... I have Good Sam but have not had to use it... I do have a free night of camping from them that I will use this fall...

Sometimes the GPS will take you way out of the way! Mine has a feature that will avoid interstates... wish it had an avoid big cities on it!! but can work around that...

Have a great day everyone...
Kathleen

Hey, bluepinecones!

Really looking forward to your extended story. I am planning quite a bit of boon docking myself - including Walmarts - so am really looking for some "pointers". Both good and bad. I have a friend that had a large motorhome for some few years - and she said that she drove from California to the northeast and back doing mostly Walmarts.

I am very interested to know how that works out.

My van (when complete - and it is almost there) will be something more than just a "camper", but quite a bit less than a motorhome.

Big plans, yeah. Never have really done any camping. Yet. :o

Thanks in advance for the story - please start a new thread when you do. Makes your post easier to find, and I don't want to miss it.

Anne

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Sounds as if many are on the roads and headed for various destinations. I will be heading south in about just another month, either from here, or from my daughter's place north of here by about 80 miles. Either way, I will be taking Interstate 81 south through Syracuse as far as Winchester, then take a cross-over truckers' route over to Interstate 95. I'm considering trying to plan a stopover at Silver Springs Campground in FL when I get there, as Liz and some others will be there. Guess I should begin to reserve my KOA Kampground spots after my first two nights at Flying Js as no campgrounds will be open until I get to Virginia. I'll plan to drive only about 200 miles each day, or so, again this year----takes a long time to get back there, but I get some down time to enjoy the various campgrounds on the way.

Nothing planned for today, although I need to work on weeding a lot more in the pet/human cemetery here on the property as many of the stones are being overgrown with blueberry bushes!

Happy Saturday to all!

Morning all. Am parked at my sisters Escapee CO-OP in Benson AZ until Monday. We have some body damage to the rear of the RV and the front window is cracked from flying stones during our trip. There is a good repair shop here and insurance covers it all, so we r leaving it for a week and taking an unexpected road trip with r car--possibly southern Cal. Enjoying my visit although somehow the $$$ fly thru the stores when we gtg   going to brunch in Bisbee this am so better get going. Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Quick post because of weak internet. Ellen is here and we spent a few hours chatting yesterday. She is off to find some better internet for a couple of hours and then we will go exploring. Weather is cool and a bit drizzly.

Tomorrow I am off to Washington and a badly needed Camping World stop to get some stuff I need, including a new GPS. More later, with photos.

Anne and anyone else interested... when I boondocks I ask the manager if it is ok... this is mostly at Wal Mart... this has given me no problems... have not been turned down at all... this could save you from having the police tap on your door at 2 am... I have also parked at restaurants if they have a large parking lot... and gas stations... have to be creative...

Aw, Peggy - which I knew you were going through PdC - I used to live there. My sister does now. I would have put you in touch with each other.

I'm on my last night in Canada and first night in 7 that I'm not boondocking. But will be back to it tomorrow. I splurged to have wifi tonight - since I cut my drive short. Will get to the casino lot tomorrow I'll stay for a night or two (have to get my drug test for Amazon done on Monday and scheduled it for near there). And tonight I'll be working on planning my NEW route. Unfortunately, for me who hates taking interstates very much or often, I'll probably end up taking 5 down through WA, OR and CA. Boo hiss. lol But will figure these things out better yet tonight, I hope. See what kind of time I can take - as there are places I still want to stop if possible.

Lori, tell Ernie you pay for that service - USE it - why do that changing himself? Glad he decided to call, if not for my reasons!.

Oh, it's so nice to be back in sundresses and sandals! Hope the sun follows me south like it did north during the spring.
