Thursday morning, Early...

Oh, for heavens sake, why am I up and awake at 4AM??
( I know the reason...it has to do with keeping "bodily functions move smoothly" during the healing process...so not to do too much straining....with the help of a little orange pill....To much info...sorry...
)
So when things settle down, I'll go back to bed...in the mean time, I'll hang out here..
Lots of new folks here....and lots of folks on the road....so I've caught up with all of you for now...
I've been in "limbo" with future travel plans because of my health issues, but now that things are looking up, I've caught Ernie's "travel bug" and am getting excited about hitting the road again....Have to find somewhere for a repeat of a couple of tests sometime in late Oct. early Nov. to be sent to the doctors here, mostly just to keep an eye on things, so am trying to figure that out via the VA and military hospitals along the way, but hopefully it won't be too hard....so all is good...
Oh, and I promise, as soon as I can, I'll try to keep away from all my medical stuff....I'm sure I've about bore you to tears with it all....but it so helps to talk about it...sorry...
Looks like rain for this afternoon....but we don't have any major plans for the day....mostly resting and being lazy....
Okay, the coffee is hot and fresh here, so help yourselves....pancakes ready, too...with some local maple syrup.....and BACON....
Have a great day, all

Good Morning Lori and all who follow,
Pancakes and maple syrup sounds good Lori. Peggy and I are doing that this morning too. Nope, not tired of hearing about your medical issues. Want to know you are healing up and feeling better so talk about them all you want
Had a wonderful GTG with the ladies these past three days. Food, talk and laughter. Sassy even got a hair cut from Tina. Thanks again Tina.
So now the gals with exception of Peggy are off and exploring some more of MI. Peggy is here with me right now and today we are going to Mackinaw City. Then tomorrow she will head west to Traverse City to spend time with friends and then off on her journey west.
Well, here stuff rattling around in the kitchen, so best get moving here. Have a great day all.

Does Spinner get a pancake too? Breakfast sounds wonderful, much better than the Special K bar when I get to work.
Post all the medical you want, it's good to hear things are getting better.
More rain expected here, going to need a tractor to cut the grass when it all dries out, and just my luck, the self propelled went out so that along with some other issues, I'm having to get another lawn mower. Looking forward to the day when I can sell the house and live on the road.
Safe travels to those on the road.
Bonnie

Good morning Lori, Sue and Bonnie and all to follow. So glad you are getting back to your normal self Lori and getting ready to hit the road. Sue, what a great gtg y'all had. Loved all the pictures.
I'm feeling human today. Still run down and tired. Still 6 more days of antibiotics, but so happy to feel good again. Now I have to put the house and RED back together. RED was the isolation/infirmary while the house was a bachelor pad.
But going to give myself another day. Now I have 2 houses to take care of. I love taking care of RED. The house? Not so much. As soon as we get home all I can think of is hitting the road again
Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha, y'all

Good morning all, Lori I'm so glad you are feeling better and I think talking about it is good for you and it lets us know how you are progressing. I'm happy to hear you are getting excited about getting on the road, that is a good sign. Red glad you are getting out of isolation. I wish you could be getting ready for a trip, sounds like you are feeling the call of the road.
On the matter of talking about our health, I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers this morning as I have to go in at eleven for a stress test and echo cardiogram. I've had them before but doctors and hospitals scare me. Like someone said recently the fasting is one of the hardest things and for those who have been around me, you know I eat pretty much constantly. So, even if it is only four hours I'm a bit, ok lot, nervous.
We are back to summer weather after our delightful cool spell but it is almost September so hopefully fall will arrive early. Seems like the summer did go by rather quickly.
Yesterday we had new more efficient lighting put in our kitchen now it is so bright I'm going to call them back and tell them to take out a couple of the bulbs, it is like being under floodlights in there!
Safe travels to all on the road.

Things are quiet here in SW Arkansas, and I'm glad after the whirlwind trip for the past month and a half. Sure seemed longer than that, but had a great time!
Lori, there's a huge VA horsepital not to far from me....Loma Linda and I'll be home sometime in Oct. SoCal isn't such a bad place to winter...just sayin'....
Sounds like the MI group is still having fun and I'll take a pancake, please, from whom ever is tossing them out the door this morning!
Nothing on the agenda today that I know of so guess I'm still in relaxing mode. Unusual for me, but I'm kind of enjoying it.
Chris, glad you're feeling better and Luck today BJ. Why do you have to fast for those tests? They just told me to eat lightly for the stress and no food instructions at all for the echo.
Have a great day all!

Good Morning... first coffee in a couple of days... am doing much better here also... we got a shower in the night that will make for a humid 90 degree day!
Lori I am with everyone else talk away... sometimes this helps jog a person to go get a check up... I know for myself I have grown to care for those unseen friends I have made on this forum...
It will soon be a year since my Bright Hope has been on the road... it has the wonderful laminate floor... I need to paint the wooden steps and also get some kind of coating for my deck... I would sure like to find something I could spray on as it takes forever using a brush... On tv there was a brand named Behr that they said even covered any peeling... it is sold at Home Depot... has anyone had any experience with a good coating? My deck is in direct sun most of the time...
I wish today was yesterday as CarolB would come over... sure messed up that one...
Oh BJ when I was in the hospital in May they did a nuclear stress test on me... I hope that is the kind you are getting...
Sue what a great time you all had at the GTG... sure helps fill in the empty spots of being alone most of the time...
Have a sun filled day everyone
Kathleen

Morning all.
I'm probably too far south for October, but we have a large VA - and you could see Red as well - well if she's at home that is! I understand the wanderlust. I have it bad, but still too hot for camping in the little tin can.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!
The day has dawned warm, breezy, sunny, and with a forecast for rain and thundershowers this afternoon----first rain in over a week of stupendous August weather. The blueberry bushes are beginning to turn reddish, the berries are either dropping off faster or, when picked, the stems come with them----a sure sign of the end of the picking season. Gallons of the berries have been picked, eaten, cooked, or frozen for the dark winter days this year. I can't remember a finer picking season.
Everyone seems to be dealing with health issues prior to hitting the roads again, and I will be doing the same with my yearly doc appointments before I head south sometime in October. Most everyone seems to be healing well with great diagnoses. I am also hoping for a clean bill of health.
I discovered that I no longer have many of my favorite programs on this laptop since it was re-habbed a few days ago, including my top fave Adobe Photoshop Elements. I am afraid the disc to install it is back in FL, so dealing with my pics of the summer will just have to wait until I get back there. Sigh----I am wondering what other treasures got lost in the shuffle.
Kids are both off today, so I guess I'll go into the house to see if I can find a Photoshop disc lurking in there somewhere. Am also going to attempt to replace the leaky water hose that runs from my pump to the faucets here in the trailer, as it would be good to be able to have water at the bluegrass festivals coming up. Not sure where I will dump the tanks after the music is over, but there should be someplace around to get it done. A couple of festivals have portable dump stations, but don't think this Bridgewater one has anything.
Time's a-wasting, so off I go. Hope you all have a happy day wherever you may be.

Believe it or not, I just got up. It is only 11:00 am here, but I have become pretty much of a night-owl and then have been sleeping in. I slept 9 hours last night and the same the night before, so I guess I needed it. Still waiting for rest of the tests from the local clinic, but I am feeling well and my problems seem to have resolved themselves.
Today is my last day in West Yellowstone, and I am going to try to get a haircut today. Still got work I need to get done, but I will also go for one last ice cream cone! Then tomorrow morning I head for a state park near Bozeman, MT, for a few days. There is a museum I want to see in Bozeman, and I need to stop at a grocery store to stock up before I go to Glacier in four days. Will probably go there or in Helena.
After my Teton experience, I am a bit worried about cell service, so I will do as much of the online stuff today and tonight as I can. It does make it a little harder to work online on the road, but if I have to move or drive somewhere to get service, I will.
It has been nothing but sunny and beautiful the last several days here, so I am going to enjoy today.

Still limping around
. It is a perfect day for the State Fair! Darn it! A cold front moved thru yesterday and the humidity dropped way down and it is 80, dry, sunny and breezy today. So instead of walking around the Fair, eating corn dogs and mini donuts, I am sitting on my couch with my bruised, swollen foot up in the air
. It feels better today but was sure painful last night at the end of my shift at work! I only work 6 hours tomorrow and then have Saturday off, so hopefully it will be much better by Sunday.
I was driving past our local used car dealer today and saw a small trailer in the lot so I stopped to take a look-see. It is exactly what I am looking for as far as size and layout. It is a 2012 18' MicroLite by Flagstaff. It has a slide out with a couch instead of a dinette, which I prefer. The owner is selling it for $10K and it is brand new, never used and has all the bells and whistles. He got a deal on it because it was damaged in the front at the dealer lot, so he is fixing that. Unfortunately, I have no money right now so can't buy it, but at least I know exactly what I want to get later on when I am ready.
Here is the floorplan...
http://www.forestriverinc.com/TravelTra ... e=trailersSounds like a lot of fun trips and GTG's this past week or so! I am so anxious to hit the road but don't know yet when that will be...someday...

I wish that no one had any health issues but we aren't getting younger, so comes with the territory. I have had a headache every day for a week. I suspect that my massage to "fix" the pain in my neck since my heart surgery is the cause of my headaches. Soaked up to my neck in the hot springs yesterday and taking tylenol. Fingers crossed, today headache free so far.
Get well or stay well everyone!

Well I did the treadmill the whole 5 minutes! They didn't give any clue as to how the eco went but guess they aren't supposed to although when I had one in STL they did say it looked good but I think a doctor was present on that one. I don't know why the fasting, I don't remember doing it on my other one but that was a couple of years ago. Now I'm in the wait zone, they say it takes about 5 days after I take the holter I'm wearing for 24 hours back tomorrow. I am tired, think it's from all the stress worrying about the stress test!
Barbie that trailer does look like it has a good lay-out but I don't know how they can call it Micro lite, the GVWR is 4650. Wouldn't that need a truck to pull it? I hope your ankle gets better, doesn't it always happen, the weather gets perfect when you want to do something.
Judy sure hope your headache stays away! And your are right we aren't getting any younger no matter how much we try to ignore it. I have a birthday coming up in a couple of weeks and I always get depressed before birthdays. In fact i started fibbing about my age after my 21st birthday and until a couple of years ago never told even my best friends the real number. I'm sure everyone that knew me very long had a good idea but I still wouldn't tell.

Cute trailer, Barbie.
BJ - that includes everything you can put in it - so actually not a heavy trailer when you put it against many others.

BJ, I had an aunt that wouldn't tell her age. I thought she was 35 most of my life.
She said that a woman that would tell her age would tell anything. I hope I can be like her. She went on a trip to China when she was 84.
My son called this morning to tell me that his truck broke down. I went to get them and was going to let him use my van. Good thing I called home. My DH's truck stopped with him and he had to have it towed. Hope my van doesn't break down or I will be driving my motorhome. My son is flying home with my grandson in the morning so my other son is going to have to bring them to the air port. Both of the trucks are diesel and it seems to take a lot longer to get one worked on than a gas vehicle. Hope they will take pity on us and get one of them running soon.
