Fun Day Saturday

Good Morning from the sunny 45th,

Looks like another beautiful day here in northern Michigan. June is such a beautiful month to be up here. Temps average between 60's at he beginning of the month and gradually warm up the 70's as the month progresses along. Not to say there aren't ups and downs in that of course. And no humidity. Perfectly enjoyable weather. Those you can see forever kind of days. And everything just bloomed out and so fresh and green.

Got some fun things on my agenda today. This is the weekend of the annual Splash=In at the local county park. Float planes come in from all over the U.S. and Canada. The numbers vary of course depending of weather conditions in a given area. The day is filled with a plane parade, take off and landing events, bomb drop (no not real bombs, just fake what ever they use), water balloon drop etc. designed to show off and hone the pilots skills. I haven't been able to really watch all this cause I worked on the weekends at the State Park. We would see the planes when they passed over, but that was all and some years that depended on which way the wind was flying. So today I am taking my chair and going over to my cousins and sit on her beach and watch for awhile.

Then depending on when I have my fill of this, I will come back home and continue the project of building a picnic table. It's about half assembled right now. Got all the cutting done yesterday and now need to finish sanding the next batch of boards. Will have enough scrap lumber left to build a couple of side tables if I want probably.

So that's todays fun for me. Looking forward to hearing what kind of fun things you all are into today too. Have a great one.

Good morning Sue & all to follow :D

Sue, I think you should be here today--bring the sun with you!!! Another dreary day, but I'm planning to make sun/privacy screens for my porch, so bring your tools too! Not as complicated as making a picnic table, but you seem to have the talent to make anything!!! Besides, sitting on a BEACH watching planes--how fun can that be ;)

Yummy, Germ choc cake for breakfast :P Made it yesterday for bro's bday, which we celebrated last night. So I got leftovers mmmmmm

Donna, saw your post for fb friends. I rarely get on fb, but went there this morning to look you up. Looked at my "news feed," & lotsa junk on there, like advertisements? Tried to block them, but can't figure it out...Think I'll close my account, but don't know how to do that either! Help, anyone???

Okay, y'all have a great day! 8-)

...And Donna, you jumped in there before me, so good morning! I'm having similar feelings of being over the "s&b," but luckily for me, I rent from my bro (cheap!), so will always be able to have this place. Good luck with the realtor!

Good morning. Carol and Donna were posting the same time I was :P So, Good morning Sue, Donna and Carol! And all to follow! Sue, I love those fly ins. My aunt is a pilot and they would fly in to planned gtgs all over the country. She is still a pilot at the age of 86!! Tyler got me up again at the same time and insisted on a walk. He has 3 acres to explore, but he much rather go for a walk with me :P So, I'm letting him have his way because I sure need the exercise. I've pretty much turned into a slug since I moved to TX. It was in the 60s at 6:30am when we went walking. Very pleasant!!

DH is headed over to get a crew of day workers to do yard work and dig a ditch so we cam run a 30 amp plug to the MH. This will be great when we have guests as well. You need to have a good reliable source of electricity for A/C during the summer. It'll be up to 90 by this afternoon, so I'm getting my share of the outside work done now!!

Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

good morning ladies
little breezy here this morning but sitting on the patio is still nice witht he aspen trees overhead rustling their leaves.
Maggie got a treat this morning of a leftover hot dog, broke it two and she ran with it on Terri's bed to eat it but I
shooshed her off and made her eat it outside. Then she ran back in and grabbed the other half out of her bowl and
ran upstairs with it to eat it on my bed. So funny. She is certainly enjoying herself here.
Went to Home Depot yesterday and picked up some strawberry plants and some other plants to plant in the yard.
Don't know whats on the agenda for today, I just take it as it as it comes.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning All, WOW! Your aunt is 86 and still flying!! That's great. I completed my driving tests this morning, on the computer. I received an assessment of ending in the first percentile in one area and in the fifth percentile in the other area.

In one test they throw out anywhere from two to five objects for a split second. Then they add about 10 objects of the same thing! One is supposed to keep track of the original 2 to 5 while all are bouncing around and choose them after viewing all objects. That is the one I didn't do so well.

I'll keep trying.....

Cool and O'cast here this morning. A heat way in No.Cal. I just heard from my daughter on Skype. Maybe some of that heat will get down here.

You folks on the East coast are sure getting hit with the rain. Wish we had some here.

Drive safe if you are on the road.....lyn

I'm looking forward to Summer Circle theater tonight. Free plays on the riverbank -- oh the joys of living near a university! It's "Charley's Aunt" tonight, which always makes me laugh. :D

Today must be project Saturday. I picked up the boards and wire shelves yesterday to fix one of my closets. There is a can of paint around here somewhere, just hope I can find it. I want to paint the boards but the weather said we have rain coming this afternoon and tomorrow. I don't see any yet. Some of the people they have working at Lowe's are pretty inept. I told a guy that I wanted a 1" X 2" board and he said they didn't have that. I showed him where they were.

Ava, sounds like you and Maggie are really enjoying your vacation. Maggie is so lucky you took her in.

Donna, I don't know what people can see on everyone's Facebook page. There is a group called Women Who RV that some of us belong to. I have a few advertisements coming up on my page too and don't know how to get rid of them. I don't post often but it's something else to read to keep up with family and friends.

I use Adblocker on my browsers and cuts way down on the ads.

Sue - that sounds really cool about the float planes. Last year we were in Charlevoix the weekend of the Boyne City Thunder - the big boats. That was fun. Oh and the weekend of June 22-23 is the wine/food festival in TC.

Don't know what's on the rest of the day's agenda other than housework and I don't really want to do that.
