Rainy Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Friday

Postby Colliemom » Fri May 10, 2013 6:25 am

Morning everyone,

Seems like rain is the main topic these days. I"m happy to say, that we are finally getting some much needed rain here, but I also know that there are some of you who wish it would go away. Our temps are very cool here though and the high for today is supposed to be about 49. I'm hoping it rains all day. Our soil here is very sandy and it doesn't take long for it to dry up once it quits.

So today for me, is going to be house cleaning this morning and not sure what will take place this afternoon. Maybe a trip to town and some browsing in the lawn and garden areas of the local stores for a chance. It's been a busy week here as I have accomplished a lot in my yard and also have been out bumming around as well. The "girls" and I took a springtime ride to Mackinaw City on Wednesday and also by Aloha State Park on the way home. That is the park where Judy is supposed to be camping over Memorial Day weekend and is one of my favorite ones. Will be posting some pics of that little trip soon as I can get them into Photobucket.

Soos, congrats on the new truck. Sounds like a beauty and really loaded. I"m sure you will have fun trying to figure out all the bells and whistles and what they do. Also hope you can find a place to get a cap ordered.

The Wickham Park GTG sounds like it was a rousing sucess and a good time had by Soos, Donna and Dell.

Barbie, I'm sorry to hear abut all the issue with your dad. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family as you deal with this. But happy that you got a small raise at work. Good for you.

Ava, hang in there girl. Only a few days left of school and then you will be free of it all for awhile. By the time you go back in fall, you won't have much time left to put up with it all.

Looks like everybody else is just doing the necessary things to keep an S&B going and wishing we were all elsewhere. CArol, I hope the rain leaves for you, so you can get your grass mowed.

Well, time to get things moving around here. Wishing all of you a wonderful day. Those traveling, be safe and enjoy.

Good morning, Ladies !!! I did get my yard mowed yesterday Sue, we had two days of sun, so ground was not as soggy yesterday afternoon, knew I had to do it then, as more rain coming today. Besides have a chiropractor visit today, so yesterday riding the mower was best day to do that. My back seem a wee bit better, but doubt its going to be as good as it used to be, before I did the stupid thing last fall. Actually it was something I did all the time, guess I need to be thinking before doing these days. Its been bothering me every since then, but wintering in Fl. I just dealt with it, now I am seeing my dr here and she is doing wonders for me, plus the massages I have had. They are great !!!!!!

Maggie and I, are off to the store and then dr. visit, after we dump this load of trash I have gathered here :D No trash pick up here, have designated areas we need to take it too, mine is about 12 miles away, but on the way to town, so I try to do all errands on days I choose to go in. Which I don't do much, I am not a going shopping or town person. Chiropractor visits are enough trips, trash gets dumped regular these days. :D

I've already lost one post, better shut up here now, its this computer, or rather my hands, the lightest touch moves or messes this thing up. I am trying to pay more attention to where my fingers are , :o  Hope you all have a great day, those who need rain, hoping you get it, and it leaves here for awhile, I can think of some places who have had it worse then here though. Sarah, sure hoping you can get in to Magic soon and see whats up there. Most of all, hope these meds get you to feeling better, the ear situation is not fun and lasting to long. Take care everyone and ..........

Have a great day all !!!

Good morning Sue, CArol & all to follow :D --and now editing since Lori jumped in before I posted! :P G'morning Lori!....

Bro & basset hound (from MO) arrived at 2:30 a.m., we talked til 4, so I'm just waking up! "Coffee, & more coffee" is the mantra for today!

Barbie, sorry about your dad...BJ, poor Toby & YOU. Hope you caught up on rest...Red, get going in RED! Skyping with DD for Mom's day :P ... Hey Donna, did I ask you where in PA you stay for summer??? I like your style of hitting the beach by day & WM by night!

Did get mowing done yesterday & turned some more of my canned/frozen tomatoes into enchilada sauce! G'grief, I didn't know I could do this stuff! Made spinach (frozen, from my garden last summer) & cheese enchilada casserole. Yep Mitch, I've been a busy little bee in the kitchen, & surprising myself at what I can do :o  Energy driving me?? Nope, just cheap & want to find things to do with maters!

Y'all have a great day & be safe wherever you are! 8-)

Good morning all. Just a quick Hello! Trying to catch up on everything. My blog, laundry, cleaning RED, etc. Rained with lightning and thunder most of the night. Still drizzle this AM and most of today. We are headed to the Shrine Center this evening for the monthly poker / bingo night. Then tomorrow night for the Circus volunteer appreciation dinner.

Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Good Morning... what a difference a day makes... Wed was 80+ Thur rain all day and today cloudy and 60 guess that is a true mark of spring...
WOW Bright Hope is again in my driveway with new laminate floor looks so nice... but I see they forgot to put the holes for the table legs in... it looks like I have a new MH now...
Barbie how hard this is on you and your brothers... no one likes to see these things happen to those we love... hang in there girl!
AVA in some ways I am glad I retired when I was 68... school bus driving is never easy because if it is not one thing it is another... how long have you driven?
Will be very glad if the man comes to mow my yard today... it looks like a hay field that is made up with weeds! I did cut the dead parts from the lilac bushes and sadly cut the rest of the red bark dogwood off... one of the trees that we planted when my daughter did my yard a few years ago has died... will have to have it pulled... it is small so that should not be a problem...
Hopefully next week Hilde will be at her daughter's and she will take Shadow... I have been slowly gathering his things up... it will be so sad but time but it is necessary... The passages of life are hard...
Take care everyone...

Good morning everyone, It is a warm drizzly morning here but doesn't sound like we are going to get much rain, thank goodness. My little guy isn't much better, I called last night and found out I could give him 2 baby aspirin every 12 hours and Benadryl every 8 hours. The aspirin lasts for awhile but not 12 hours so called this AM and waiting to see if there is something else he can take. I got him to eat a scrambled egg for breakfast but he refused most food yesterday. They don't seem to think there is a problem other than the little dogs are just so much more sensitive. Thankfully we did sleep through the night :)

I hope everyone gets all their work done and can go out and play soon. I did get my battery problem in Elsie fixed so crossing my fingers she will go down the road now. I took her back to the RV place where they put in my new batteries in late fall. They found one of the batteries had shorted out so they replaced it at no cost. :)
