Thursday gardening

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday gardening

Postby carolb » Thu May 02, 2013 6:04 am

Good morning all! :D

Glad you all enjoyed my "u-less" posts, but this morning I decided to write from my "nu" laptop!

Peoples on the move & many wanting to be! Liz, where are you headed now? CArol, I guess I've missed a lot--you're ready to give up the S&B!!! Good for you! JudyB I didn't figure you'd be going through NY on your way to MI--meant to tell you I'm here for any gtgs, so that goes for anyone else traveling up this way. Looks like I may be going to a RoadTrek gtg! Talked to Peggy, & she says there are about 4-5 going to RI in mid May. :P

Bro was over for dinner last night & is coming back today to till the garden. This will be a day of yardwork, & I still plan to go somewhere this weekend--even if I just drive down the road a few miles & spend the night in a rest area! Is that called "serious hitch itch" or what?  I'm so unhappy being home :(

Y'all have a great day!!! 8-)

Good Morning Carolb and all who follow,

Carol, you can always "hitch itch" over this way you know  It may be a gardening day for you, but it's going to be a painting day for me. Need to repaint my hallway. One wall of my living room is also part of my hall, and when I paint the living room, I carry the same color down the hall. In this case, it's too dark, so am going to repaint it a bit lighter. Usuing one of the contrast color for the current paint in my living room. Should look nice I hope. It won't be a long time job as it doesn't take long to paint the hall once I get the woodwork taped. I had planned to do it this morning, cause it was supposed to be a rainy day here, but now looks like it won't happpen till late evening.

Am also going to have to go hunting for a new micro, as mine died after 13 years of faithful service. Dang. Seems like whenever one gets some money coming that one wants to use for something, it goes out the window on something one doesn't want to use it on  Tell you all about that, right

Well, the RV hunt is down ot two model TT's. I called on the MH yesterday, but the people weren't going to be home and have a kid of busy week here, so don't know when we can get together about that. It's at least an hours drive from here, so not something one wants to just run over for. I really should go back and look that one TT over again, but that too is an hour's drive and for the short time it takes to look it over, I wonder if it's worth it. We shall see. The other has to be ordered and I can get it from either the local dealer here or my dealer I got my last TT from. He's about 50 miles from here. Kind of hate having to order sight unseen, but neither has that model in stock. I originally had 3 picked out, but eliminated the one casue of the small holdilng tank capacities, 15 gals in the Grey Water and only 9 in the Black Water. So now it's down to Sportsman 190 or Flagstaff 19RD/Rockwood 1906 (same model, just different brand names).

JudyJb, Glad to hear you are enjoying Sterling right now. I sent you a PM in regards to your dates up at Aloha. If I get a new rig, am going to make reservations also, but wanted to know when you are going to be there for sure.

Sounds like there are cases of "hitch itch" starting to appear out there. Contagious disease that it is  Only remedy is to hit the road and go someplace. Liz, safe travels wherever the road takes you.

Well, this isn't getting to my paint job. Want to get it over and done, so I have the rest of day to do whatever. Have a wonderful day all.

good morning ladies
woke up too early this am, and right away my mind gets busy with worry so here I am. Grandson with the scary dog showed up
two days ago, he'll be moving into one of the units in one of our complexes but they are waiting for the carpet guys to do
new carpet today. But I suggested tile instead and now they are thinking about that, shoulda kept my mouth shut cause
that means he'll be here longer. And now he's talking about breeding his dog, which just infuriates me. Have to come
up with "the" list of all the vet bill statistics when it comes to breeding cause I've already added my 2 cents on unwanted
puppies in the world but he thinks "they" are going to make money doing it.
On a happy note, one of our co-workers comes home today from afghanistan. He landed on american soil two weeks ago
and comes into the local airport this morning. I think we're having cake at work today but he doesn't come back to work
just yet, (think in a couple weeks.) This was his 3rd deployment and he WAS set to retire in October (last year) but they
called him up and said they needed him to train some peeps to do his job.
Guess I'll jump in the shower and get ready, the girls are trying very hard to get me to feed them early but thats not going
to happen. Breakfast is at 5:00, girls  so go back to bed.
Ya'll have a great day, be safe and enjoy your weather.

That's too bad about the scary dog, Ava. I don't know why so many people think there's a big profit in a litter of puppies. Crazy.

Sue, it's exciting about the trailer! I'm so happy for you. Fun is coming!

Good Morning... cloudy and a bit cooler today but have the fan in the window anyway!
Oh my garden time for so many... I am not a yard or garden person...
Carolb do you get called very often to sub?
Anyone coming through Il can pm me and I would love to meet up with you...
Sue I looked on crags list to see if I could find that motorhome but could not find what area has it listed... My motorhome is an ideal set up... I have enjoyed it ever so much..
I had forgotten to tell my mayday story... so here it is... when I was living with my grandma she would have me pick flowers... (she always had so many as she provided fresh flowers each week for her church)... we would go to the neighbors and I had to go up to the house very quietly she said and leave them... me quiet... I think not... it is a fond memory!
Have a safe day everyone...

Well, we dodged a bullet last night. The snowstorm missed the Twin Cities by a nose! Just southeast of here they got up over a foot of snow!
The ice is officially off the lake now and it is great looking out over open water finally! Will be chilly and rainy thruout the weekend but starting Monday will be back in the 70's and sunny. Good news, since I start playing golf on Monday evening. Might be a wet course tho!

My dad is still in the hospital but may be getting release today to a nursing home. They are having trouble finding a place that will take him because of his drinking problems and temper...

Gotta get to work here, so hope you all have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sue, I had to chuckle.....maybe it is an hang over from driving to distant dog shows but anything under two hours is just nice jaunt (with books and tape and a dog or two for company... :) ) I won't tell you how many times I drove the hour and a half (one way) to Richmond, IN, to look at the two larger RV dealerships that were up in that area 8 years ago when I first started looking for my first rig... And I've been known to drive two hours just for a chance to visit a litter of puppies. :) But the dogs and I enjoy the road and the scenery along the way.

Hope you are able to find what you want soon and make it out on the road again. It does sound as if you are missing your travel opportunities a lot.

Some of my RV hunts last 2 to 3 years. Of course, I already have one while I'm looking. I would like to have one with a little more room but that would mean more people would want to go with me. Only having 2 beds is a good excuse sometimes. The internet makes it much easier to look. When my boys were young and they would see an RV lot coming up they would both be pleading Don't Stop.

Some weeks I do a lot of driving. It's an hour to the nearest large town where we do some shopping and our doctors are located. I can usually find an excuse to go at least once a week.

This has been the craziest year weather wise. Our temperature is 82 but a cold front is suppose to be coming through and they are predicting a low tomorrow night of 43. If it's that low here some places will probably be having snow again.

I just watched a starling reach into the grass and pull out a gigantic worm. I think that starling is full, for the moment. Took a while to eat it all.

Unlike all the rain at Wickham, I, who expected it to rain my whole time through OR and WA have been, for the most part, enjoying an unbelievably sunny time. OR is trying to prove to me that there are periods of sunshine other than in August and sometimes Sept lol ... and I'm not complaining. I know I'll have my share of rain on the coast all summer. It's a given.

I'm thinking of driving 60 miles just because today ... even though I'll be going to the same area on Saturday. Monday I went to check out a park to see if I want to go there. It's in WA and as the crow flies, much closer than the route I had to take to cross the bridge. WIll move there either Sunday or Monday. Found the spot I want if it's available (first come first serve) but would take any of them. Oh, and that was the day I got rain. Expected it Sunday on my drive here ... supposed to end overnight Sunday... what do weathermen know?

A little cooler here today which makes me happy. I'm not into gardening either Kathleen. I used to love to play in the dirt when I was little and can remember my brother pulling me out of my favorite mud hole one day & dragging me into the house crying to our Mom "wash her"!! I was really mad cause my little red boots hadn't came out with me and I was not happy leaving them behind.

I'm thinking of going to get the new iPhone today or tomorrow. :) DH has one and all the glitches with the apps seem to be corrected. First though I need to get this rag-a-muffin dog Toby on the table. I can't even think about the other two right now.
