Good Morning to the Carols and all who follow,
Carolb, it feels just right having you on your old computer and not having the "u" in your wording. For some reason, I guess we have all been reading along without it for so long, that now that you can get it in there, it just isn't the same
And Carol, so glad you posted this moring too, as I've been wondering how you are doing down in the south. Sorry to hear that Liz is getting readdy to pull out, but I guess there is a time, when all good things must come to an end. Sounds like you are making progress, so just keep up a head of steam and crank away. As for me, I have never been a person who is content to idle. I have to be doing something, hence the reason why i spend time working around my place here. Plus I too am considering unloading this S&B for perhaps something smaller. Actually, I am considering moving into Michigan's U.P. depending on whether or not a possible condo situation devlops like it's planned. The resort I stay at up there is for sale right now and if it does not sell as a resort by November, they are going to take it off the market for the winter months and relist it again next March as individual condos. So I am checking into that possibility. Would be a nice spot to spend summers and head south in winter. We shall see.
Well, I spent yesterday at two different RV dealers, one about 60 miles northeast and the other right near me here. Looked at some different rigs at the first one and got an OTD price on one that includes everything, including sway contraols, brake installer etc. That one is a 19ft Sportsman 190. The other one I have looked at is a Flagstaff Micro Lite 1905 which was one of two models I am considering in that line. It has a rear bathroom, side dinette, kitchen and front Murphy bed setup. I just happened to luck out in that the only one they had of that one was recently sold, but the people who bought it, were getting their walk through, and I was able to check it out as well. Threw that model out as with the bathroom in the rear and the Murphy bed in front, it limited the window space, a bit too dark for me. The other model of this same brand has a rear dinette with a rear window which I think would be much nicer. I like the Sportsman cause it has a front window and there is so much light in it the way it's designed, but I don't know if I want to drag 23 feet of trailer around counting it's hitch. There is a similiar model in a 16ft, which might be better. So will chew on this for a bit here.
BJ,as to the MH, there are pros and cons on that issue for me. One is the higher cost of owning the MH as opposed to a TT. With gas hovering around $3.80 in this neck of the woods, and the fact that I am a person who likes to camp, but also like to take off and sightsee, it can become a bit of an expensive trip in regards to gas. We all know that MH's are not easy on gas. And the insurance is way higher than a TT's, not to mention other maintenance that needs to be performed. If I get a TT that my Flex can tow for this summer and next, I can take a trip around the U.P. if I want, staying at different state parks and doing some running around and sightseeing, way cheaper than I could with the MH. The Flex is getting about 20 mph just running around to town here and at least 25 on the highway. I'm sure that once it has to pull a TT, that will go down. But once that TT is parked, then I can run all over for way less gas. But the MH would be easier in terms of just jumping in and taking off, like maybe to a FL GTG in winter. I"m considering going over to look at it, but yesterday was rainy all day for the most part and although I did go look at TT's. Looking that MH over would have been a bit harder. I may wind up going over there today. We shall see. Another 60 miles plus, one way trip.
But for right now, I have a Chiropractor appt. this morning and need to stop at bank as well. Then probably to Home Depot to get some paint to do my hallway. I recently painted it earler last month, but it's too dark, so I want to get a contrast color and lighten it up. After that we shall see where they day goes.
Glad to see that some of the MIA's are starting to filter back in here. Sure do miss you. Chime in even if all you are doing is cleaning house
At least we know you are still here.
Well, off and running here. Have a great day all.
