Manic Monday

Good morning everyone. Its suppose to be in the low 80s today. it is humid out already.Up early. Have to take DH to surgery center. They put him out, then inject stuff into his "good" knee that makes it almost pain free for 6-9 mos. They can't do it on the bad knee because of the prosthesis. Will grab a bite and some coffee before we leave. DH not allowed any water or food. And he's pretty grouchy in the morning without food and his meds :?

I spent a lot of time cleaning RED yesterday. I have also ventured into a project. I bought a sewing machine ( left mine in Hawaii) and started to make a costume. Haven't sewed in years, but it certainly is something you don't forget  The machines are lighter and so much easier to wind a bobbin and to thread. I tend to be a lot more patient sewing now then years gone by  Funny!?

Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Good morning everyone. I am sitting here enjoying my coffee still in my PJ's and robe. I am off today and tomorrow! I found a Day Spa here in Ardmore and am going to call them when they open at 9 to see about taking advantage of their April Special for a massage and facial. These are a couple of my indulgences I have not been able to do for quite a while now. I would love to get on a schedule for these again.

It has been really funny here. I am not used to people looking at me and asking what tribe I am from. The first time it happened, I told the guy that people don't normally realize I am part Native American. Our Dad was Ottowa. He told me he knew right away because of my "sharp features". The same thing has been happening to Paul. He said he told one guy he was part of the Seven Nations. Paul told me the guy started to laugh and said "You're one of the Yankee Indians".

Well, I had better get off here and make my cigarettes. I have Hazelnut coffee for anyone that wants some. I did have some donuts, but I ate them all. LOL.

Everyone have a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning all.

Red - what kind of sewing machine did you get? I bought one that does some embroidery a couple of years ago, made a few things for my grand daughter but haven't used it in quite awhile. Used to make all my daughter's clothes as well as mine years ago. Sure do lose the skill after being away from it for so long. Yes, the new machines are so much lighter and do so much! I did take my new machine in the MH on one trip but didn't do any sewing. I still have my super Elna - the one with all the stitch discs. LOL How is your costume coming along??

Have a great day everyone!

Linda

Red, I am curious about what machine you bought, too. I bought one over the phone after computer research and my daughter picked it up for me - won't get to see it until May! My old machne was great but so heavy and bulky for in the camper.

And Good Morning from Pahrump, Nevada. Sharon, Karen and I came here yesterday from Death Valley heat. We intended to stop in Shoshone but had a little change in plans last minute. Death Valley was fun - just too hot.

I have tried to keep up with MC and Campfire, but saw a post asking about a new grandbaby in Florida for Soos??

I am having one of my late, slow mornings instead of jumping and running - a morning person I am not but I try to go with the flow. Sharon and Karen are headed to WalMart. I'll be ready for a casino later :)

My 14 yo GD took the news of Crohns disease very well - turns out she had really done her research. As she woke up from the colonoscopy, she asked the recovery nurse many 'pointed, educated' questions and finally said 'well, it is either Crohns or ulcerative colitis'. Nurse was floored. She then still wanted a trip to the Kansas City zoo where my DD rented a wheelchair for her! I think God gave this to a mom and daughter He knew could handle it.

Good early afternoon, all....

Well we were out and about early....no laundry at this "RV Resort'... So had to go to the local laundromat...geez, $10 to wash and dry.... :o Ernie ran to Walmart and to Radio Shack looking for a new camera for us....got it at "the shack" ...a Canon PowerShot A2300...so have been learning this new gadget....waiting for the battery to charge so I can play.... ;) I've been lost without a camera....

We're finally in shorts again....nice temps forecast until Friday....80s til then.... ;)

Okay, going to stop for now....Hope everyone is having a good day...

Beth and I are still here in Death Valley. I'm disappointed Sharon, Karen, and Anita left early. I had been looking forward to a get together with everyone. Oh well. It's a little before 11:00 am now and only 60 degrees. Perfect! Anyway, it's great seeing Beth. She and I saw a bunch of the sights yesterday. Hopefully she will post pics on her blog.

Ok Linda, I'm going to try to post 2 pics. That's about all I can do from my iPhone. We had some wind last night, but just a light breeze today. Right now it's 78 degrees. Sorry if the pics are too big.

Thanks for those two great pics! I have been holding my breath to see what that place really looks like. I suppose I should go there some day just to say I have been there? Other than that, that treeless vista just does not cut it for this thick forest northeast person who loves to see 'green' things! It is definitely "Death" Valley, isn't it?
