Monday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Mon Mar 25, 2013 7:16 am

Good Morning from the 45th,

Gee, it's after 8 and nobody's got coffee going yet. Well, some I'm sure are sleeping in and being lazy and others are off to work. As for me, I'm up, had breakfast of cereal and strawberries and am killing a little time before Sassy and I head off to the vet for her annual spring checkup and Rabies shot. Then it's off to the Chiropractor for me.

This last storm is passsing south and no snow up here for a change. Supposed to be a really nice week if and when the sun can manage to get out from behind the clouds. Temps heading into the upper 30's, low 40's, so that will start the long slow melting process.

Irmi, i can't believe that it's already time for you and Steve to start heading back to MD. Seems like you just left for FL. But I know it's been a wonderful winter for you. And like you said, no hurry in heading north. As long as Winter Strom Victor is heading that way too, may as well stay south and wait till it passes by. I'm sure your parents are going to be more than happy to see you two.

I was so sorry to read in General Talk, that Louise's van bit the dust and how she has no wheels to remodel. Hopefully things will fall into place for you, so you can continue your dream.

So, am off and moving here. Hope you all have a wonderful day, stay safe if you are on the road.

I'm in Qwartzite again, as of yesterday, boondocking with Anita! :P I was so brain-dead/frazzled when I arrived, she was kind enoff to fill me in on all the forem news, even logging on from her phone & reading some to me! Is that a great lady or what!!! :D I had sch a great visit with Sharon, altho she was bz with her class. Donna & I had great visits between chores! Yep, she & I, being very appreciative of Sharon's hospitality yet not being able to visit mch with her over the weekend, well, we left owr mark!

The stray dog on the freeway off-ramp was still there when I went threwgh, AND someone had been there, leaving a note for help & left a phone #! I was so happy!!!! Called the lady, we met at the exit, & three other people stopped. Hewmane Society not doing mch cz "the dog jst rons away"!!! Bt between the 5 of -s that were there, we came-p with some plans & hopefolly they'll work. One is going to set a live-animal trap today, so I hope to hear good news. Maybe my "perpose" in life is to res-q animals as I live happily ever after on the road??!! ;)

OMG, almost forgot: Red, I'll never go camping with yew!!! Who goes camping in the middle of March & wakes to 4-5 inches of snow on their new rig   Kidding of corse, and sorry, bt I had a good laff at yore pix! So mch snow for so many of yew--crazy!

Y'all have a great day & be safe (& I gess I shoold add "snow-free" ) 8-)

Good Morning Sue and Carol and all who follow. I'm glad you found help with the lost dog Carol and that you didn't add #4  The sun just peeked out for the first time in days. We were lucky though and only had a light dusting of snow from the storm that moved across.
I'm enjoying my morning egg and toast as usual but with great satisfaction this morning. I heard on the news that they have reversed their opinion on eggs and now say there is no proof they raise cholesterol and the health benefits from them are very good.
Off to get ready for yoga class, glad for something to get me out of the house today I think I have a severe case of cabin fever!

It can't be good morning... we got over a foot of snow... can only open the door about 5" to let Shadow out... he could not go in the yard as there is a huge drift there... And my Dr appointment is this afternoon... My daughter is coming to take me hope I can at least get the door open...
I agree with Sue Irmi you have had a great winter... now home to plant your garden...
Take care everyone...

I am so happy to be with my sister in Florida instead of in the snow! She said, "You'd better stay at least another month," and I'm inclined to agree. The William saw his first Florida squirrel this morning, so he's happy. He thinks he is The Great American Squirrel Hunter -- not that he has ever killed anything he's caught.

Max the Cat is feeling anti-dog this morning. When I picked up his leash, Wm did his happy dance, which includes galloping and spinning around. Suddenly Max shot out into the middle of the room, hissing and being a Halloween cat. Wm was just bewildered. I'm still laughing.

Thanks for the sympathy, Sue. I'll figure something out. Maybe this just wasn't the right van.

I am finally up, although still really groggy. I know--it is after 11:00 am, but I swear I am on Pacific time in Florida! I have been having problems getting to sleep at night and keep waking up in the middle of the night. Anyway, at least I have no schedule, other than finishing the semester and opening up the new one this afternoon. Love this lifestyle!

Today, I was going to pack up and drive into Fernandina Beach to do some walking around, visiting the museum, and taking a tram tour, but it is cold again and the wind is 24 MPH out there, so I decided to wait until tomorrow. Got to work out some technical glitches today anyway with student videos that I can see but not hear. Still got a handful to go through and need to call tech support.

Saw my first Florida deer last night just before sunset walking in the dunes just in front of my vehicle. Got out and took a couple of photos before they scampered off. They are a lot bigger than those tiny deer at the Texas GTG, and these are obviously not friendly. Went for a long beachwalk yesterday down to the pier after the rain stopped and in the warm (windless) weather. This wind kicked up late yesterday and really rocked the RV all night. Glad I do not get seasick! At least it is sunny out and I have a fantastic view of dunes and a peek of ocean.

GOOD EVENING HERE TO ALL!

After a very WILD day of weather here in Central FL, with horrendous winds and lightning and downed trees and power outages and on and on, I came home from the trailer to make sure my house was still here and ok----it is fine, and it looks as if we got no rain whatsoever here. St. Cloud got quite bit with horrid winds and lightning, but no damage in either place where I hang out, thank heavens.

Today I washed my hair in the kitchen sink (to keep my back incision dry) and tonight I will luxuriate in a hot tub! Will return to St. Cloud to let Melissa change my bandage on Wednesday, probably, unless I try it myself.

I will try to find out what happened to the van that was to built when I get off here.

After reading about all the cold and snow up north, I am so happy to still be right here where it is warm and comfy!

Tomorrow I will go look at other trucks, finish my income taxes, and do a laundry. Hope you all drive carefully wherever you may be!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
