Good Morning! It's Thursday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning! It's Thursday!

Postby Cedar518 » Thu Nov 20, 2008 4:39 am

Good morning sisters,.....

This a.m. I am celebrating here in Zeee's Kitchen as i, (on the second try) got my new vcr to program successfully. I like being able to record a show and watch it when i want to not when some network thinks i should! I found the re-run of what i wanted to record at 1 a.m. ... i programmed the machine,... and went to bed around 9:30 p.m.,.. YES! this a.m. I have the show. yeehaw!

So I have the coffee on,... o.j. is chilled, and our biscotti jar on the table,... come on into Zeee's Kitchen and have a cup!

Will have to watch show, hit the shower and then hit the road,.... catch you all later!

Good morning!! So glad to see Cedar has made it into Zee's kitchen and got the coffee on. Will pour myself a cup and head to the showers. It is a very cold morning in Florida. So it will be a cold start to the day, but hopefully will warm up some during the day.

Cedar so happy to hear you finally got your VCR to work. I like being able to record my shows and watch them at my liesure, can skip all those commercials too.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning all!

I've been paying bills this morning online....ACK! How will ever afford to retire!

Temperature is 15 here this morning, way warmer than yesterday at this time.

What in heck is biscotti? When somebody first mentioned it, I had thought it was some kind of breakfast bread, but now that Cedar mentions a 'jar' of it....I give up!

I never use a VCR or DVD recorder, except to edit videos I've taken over the years. I guess I just don't give a hoot if/when I see anything on TV, and would NEVER bother to record anything. I can't think of one show I would miss if I didn't see it! But, for years, all I was able to get was one local channel, NBC, with rabbit ears, so TV was obviously not a biggee for me! Now that I have Direct TV along with DSL for the internet and the Verizon unlimited calling deal, I guess I can watch more. However....I invariably have NBC local channel 5 on! I worry about what this will cost me after the one year of the Verizon bundled 'deal.' I suspect I will cancel the entire thing and go back to dial-up and rabbit ears or some other antenna for TV!!

Time is short now that I've spent it giving away my hard-earned money, so I need to get going.

Anyway...happy Thursday to us all
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Goooood Morning Sistahs!

See Cedar? We can do it! We don't need no stinking men! We can beat those electronic gadgets, they have no power over us!!! They can not intimidate us!! We are Women hear us Roar!!! ? (i think those lines came out of a movie?)

It's 34 on my back porch this morning, what a difference from yesterday. :D I went out there with Shade this morning in my heavy winter coat and was a little to warm. I might have to put it back in the closet? Actually compared to yesterday and especially the day before when the wind was blowing? I find that 34 is really quite warm! LOL Nope it's not hot flashes either. ;)

Nothing different about work. Just the same old, same old. ? Opps I lied! For what ever reason? The big bosses are making the supervisors get on the phones for at least 1-2 hours a week now? I think that all of us have gripped that we think the sup's have forgotten what it's like being an agent. Sure they use to be agents themselves? But everyday they holler the same things over and over and over all day long!!! Get them right parties on the phone, make 'em pay, probe those people that answer find out who they are, get alternate phone numbers. geeze!!! Well my sup did calls yesterday and got one payment. Boy did we razz the heck out of her!! Now if we can just get the 'big' managers on the phones!!! See how well they do. The general manager is suppose to provide lunch for some of us today. Those of us that stayed and worked over last month on Halloween are being given lunch on the company. Those that didn't stay and jumped ship are out of luck. and we really didn't have to stay all that long either. Only about 20 minutes or so past 5pm. Just to make sure that the company had enough hours in for BOA to be satisfied.

Well it's time to go check my email and get my comic fix.

Hope everyone has a great day and please stay safe.

Love to all

Good Thursday morning! I've already exercised for 30 min., and cleaned all my floors. Yesterday when Bandit came home from his declawing surgery, he stepped out of the carrier and ran down the hall to the bedroom. I went to fix up his special litter box. In the two minutes or so it took me to do that, he bled all through the house and even managed to spray blood up on the sides of the cabinets and refrigerator. I called the vet and took him right back. He had to stay over night another night...the vet thinks he opened his wounds trying to get out of his carrier. So I have a cardboard carrier to pick him up with today...hopefully he won't hurt himself on it. I cleaned up all the blood I could see yesterday, but saw a few spatters still on the tile, so today I steam cleaned all the tile floors, and used the special cleaner for the wood laminate floors throughout the house. Hopefully we won't have a repeat today when he gets home. I'll be paying better attention this time though. Poor thing!

We should have gone out for Krispy Creme this morning, Nan...looks like nobody brought any. I appreciate the coffee for my coffe break though....lifting my cup and wishing you all a terrific Thursday!

It's rainy and cool here today - good excuse to stay inside, snack, watch TV and nap - darn - HA !!!
I'm attempting a "movie night" here at the campground tonight - I set up my extra DVD player in the rec room and hung up a couple of signs - I may be the only person there, but I wanted to try to get some of the folks together ! We'll see :D
Liz, hope your kitty is OK ! That had to be scary.
Hope you all enjoy your day !

Morning every one - well we pull out in a little bit headed west again. It is about 27 out but supposed to warm during the day to the 60s again. Not sure where we'll end up tonight - made reservations in Vegas for Sunday so we have a few days to roam around in. See you next time I get Internet.

I had to laugh, Echo, at your comment. When I was in the antiques business I was hauling a trolley with a big server on it. The guy that worked there asked me if I needed help with that. I replied, Don' need no stinking man! and hauled it up the aisle. Well when I tried to get it into position in its new spot I couldn't do it. I saw the guy and put my hands up like a helpless lil' ol' southern lady and said, Stinking man, could you help me?
Oh and another little story. A lady bought some big pieces and needed help loading them. I called out over the Intercom , Will the floor boy please come to the front? She was horrified when a tall, slim, neat military mustached man appeared. He had been some highly placed officer in the Air Force. He was used to being saluted and Yes Sirred, No Sirred all the time. His wife said he was tickled pink that I called him the floor boy.

Since it's supposed to get down to 20 degrees tonight, figured I'd better get some propane. Can't remember when I last bought some, so that might be a clue as to how much I cook, wash dishes, shower, and use the furnace. Unhooked everything and drove three blocks across the street to the Co-op. Not bad - $2.80/gallon. Then figured as long as I'd gone through all the unhooking stuff I might as well get the oil changed, so drove down the street another few blocks. They changed the oil and oil filter, checked everything else including tire pressure, washed the windows, etc., all for $49. Last month another place in town charged me $30 for the pickup and I brought my own oil and filters.

I've been reading David Baldacci's book, The Christmas Train , so will get some breakfast and read a little. Then it's time to finish the RV flag for Marcie and Jim. I took the quilt top into Cherryvale yesterday to be quilted - backing is going to be a dark blue fabric very, very similar to one of the fabrics in the quilt, and the quilt pattern is called Random Stars.

It's colder than ------ (fill in the blanks) right now, so some hot chocolate sounds just about right--maybe some pancakes or something to go with it.

Congrats on your victory in the VCR wars. I personally hate having to be smarter than things like ... doors ... can openers ... and dog collars.

Echo, the phrase you quoted is actually from a 1972 feminist song co-written and sung by Helen Reddy, "I Am Woman." Those lyrics are as true today as they were then:

I AM WOMAN

I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again

CHORUS
Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman

You can bend but never break me
'cause it only serves to make me
More determined to achieve my final goal
And I come back even stronger
Not a novice any longer
'cause you've deepened the conviction in my soul

CHORUS

I am woman watch me grow
See me standing toe to toe
As I spread my lovin' arms across the land
But I'm still an embryo
With a long long way to go
Until I make my brother understand

Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to I can face anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
Oh, I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong

FADE
I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong
I am woman

Janice, the only time ever I agreed to sing karaoke was with a group of women and we did that song. I would do it again under those circumstances. Glad you put the lyrics up - now I didn't have to go find them :)

Lori, so sorry you aren't feeling well. There is something going around, but it's also very likely from the flu shot. I can't take them - and always just hope the flu stays far, far away from me. And, I'm praying for you - that you feel good and fine tomorrow - but you might just want to stay in bed for the weekend - weather is supposed to take a turn for the worse tomorrow - and will not really improve before next week. So, hunker in - have some hot chocolate or hot toddies, and cuddle with that husband of yours (if you're feeling up to it) otherwise just cuddle with a soft blanket and the forum :)

Liz, all that blood must have been so scary for both of you! I just hope things are going better today!

Peaches went to the vet today - just for her annual physical. I really, really like my vet here - probably my favorite vet of all I've had for my animals over the years. Now, Peaches isn't too sure about him - but she's not likely to care for any stranger - and he's still a stranger to her - but he's sooooo good with her - that both times she's been there now - she's left feeling pretty good about it. However, I'm guessing that the thermometer up the butt didn't endear the vet tech to her :) She's in good health - and weighs within 1/10th of a pound from when they weighed her in April She looks so much bigger than her 16 pounds - all that fluffy fur does that.

I was supposed to play poker last night, but we screwed up on the start time and got to the place too late - so missed that one. But I was finally able to play here at the park on one of the poker days (I've been working for all of them up to now). Here, we pay $5 to play, then take all the winnings to pay out the 1st 5 places. Well, I came in 4th! And got my $5 back LOLOL - but at least I can say I won :)

Trudy, good for you trying to get a group together. I have liked staying in parks with no activities - like state parks, etc - but what I like most about those are usually the large spots and the pitch dark at night. I discovered last summer that I like parks with lots of activites and things going on - even if I don't do all of them. And here, I'm doing so many, that I sometimes get way behind in just trying to relax LOL - But, yeah, it's fun to make friends and do things with people - like the poker today - and we'll have about 200 people for Thanksgiving dinner here - that's going to be fun - I signed up for the singles table. The park provides the turkey and mashed potatoes and dressing - and then the people at each table sign up to bring other stuff - like salads, cranberry dressing, vegies, bread/rolls, etc. I've got the bread/rolls job at my table. I took something really easy, since I'm working Mon - Thurs - am covering Thursday for someone who has family visiting - being Thanksgiving, only have to work 1/2 a day - so will be done about 10 or so.

Ok, I just wrote a book - hope you've all had a great day - and now have a great evening.
