Maggie, that would be great! I hope you can make the trip. It is a really nice state park and I think you would enjoy it. Lots of paved walking trails. The sites are nice. I will post pics as soon as I get there.

Mitch,   Actually, I did something similar once so you aren't alone!

Wendy, after the first 2 hours of blah, blah, blah, I would have taken THAT board game!! At least it all ended sooner than I thought it would.

There are many water problems here in the park, but they did turn it on for an hour so we could reload fresh tanks. Since my monitor doesn't work, I can only guess by how long the tank took to fill that it must have been close to empty! The wind is so cold, I finally dug out my parka! Isn't this Arizona? :) Maggie, that cold is suppose to stay in the northern part! :)

The hummingbirds are a hoot to watch. They are buzzing all around and not necessarily going to the feeder.

The saying 'what goes around, comes around' - I got to view it first hand today. The obnoxious neighbor who was supposed to leave today had the transmission go out on his brand new truck. It's even funnier (sorry I have a mean streak) because he made a nasty remark about LeRoy's Chevy during his first hissy fit about moving his trailer onto his own site. The real clincher was him asking L if he'd tow him to Parker! Told L he was sure he'd be glad to get rid of him. L was off the hook since company was coming, but said the guy sure was nice when he needed something. So the wrecker came and hauled the truck and they are stuck here I guess.

And life goes on....

Wow, busy day. Mitch, I loved your story! Sounds like a situation I'd get myself into.
Hugs headed your way, CArol.
Carolb, no wonder yew're the first one up each day - going to bed at 7! :o That's just envy talking... I'd do it if I could get away with it.
Getting your coats out in AZ!
And way to much rain in other places... Not sure what's going to happen next - at least we have our homes on wheels & can move on if it gets too bad. :D (Can't wait until I really can do that! :? )
Well, its really time for bed rather than coffee so I'd better sign off....
Sleep well everyone...

Who said it's not cold here in AZ? Although you headed to high elevations for much of your trip - always cold there in the winter ... the lower elevations are having one of the coldest ever winters here. Brrrrr.... But it's warming up starting tomorrow/Wednesday. And until today, I thought mid-afternoons weren't that bad with the wonderful sun ... but today ... nothing was warming me up. Met a friend from hs days and we were walking Peaches around, and the wind came up blowing some dust, leaves, etc that scared Peaches, and made us cold to our bones. Needless to say, it shortened our walk, too. But we enjoyed ourselves anyway. I'm sooooo glad I'm not boondocking til Wednesday - when the temps are going back up.

Oh Mitch, thanks for the chuckle. I can just see you trying to hop out of there.
Rope on stool good idea. One of the ladies here uses that trick as she needs stool to get into cab of RV, then just pulls it up behind her. Think that may have been Kathleen???

Still raining and cold here but very fortunate temps holding just above freezing in the valley so no problem with ice beyond that associated with a lot of freezing rain. Not as good on surrounding mountain tops: "In Madison County, Monte Sano Mountain turned into a winter wonderland. Frozen trees, frozen power lines, and frozen road signs greeted drivers into the night."

AT 10 PM TN River at Ditto was up by about 8.5 feet; about 1.5 feet below flood stage. Expected to reach flood stage after daylight Tuesday. While the TN River flooding overall is forecast to be minor to moderate, it will still get the campground. (See Bad Timing under the General thread.)

I'm headed for bed and and hope to dream of sunshine by end of week.

Sure wasn't shorts weather in Tucson when we were there! Actually Cottonwood wasn't too bad the first 2 nights - we were able to have a campfire both nights.

But truth be told, only one day would I have even considered wearing shorts since we've been back.
