Happy anniversary Lori and Ernie!

Last night a cold front blew thru and it is now only 9 degrees here!! Brrrr!!!

Nothing too exciting going on here right now. It is Cyber Monday but I really don't need anything so will maybe just browse a little before heading off for work later on.

Have a great day!

Thanks - when I first started planning this trip, I was using $4, so I'm glad to see that $3.30 - $3.50 is going to be more like it.

Happy Anniversary Lori and Ernie. My DH and I are only a year ahead of you. Hard to believe it's been that long and where has the time gone.

Not much going on here either. Really glad I'm not where Barbie is. It's back up in the 70's again here. It rained sometime this morning and there is another line of rain to the West of us. We need some rain. It's been at least a couple of weeks since it rained. We are in the red area for possible severe weather but don't see any now.

Trying to think of something I could cook for lunch. The freezer is jam packed and nothing looks good. I was going to make a gumbo but froze the turkey broth too. Don't really feel like gumbo unless it's cold. We have been eating too much anyway.

Happy Anniversay Lori and Ernie. You are lucky to have each other.

Regular gas in Deming, just off I-10 is $3.15 today. Fill up in NM before driving into Arizona. See everybody in Quartsite.

Good late morning everyone. I was surprised to read how much gas prices vary. We have high taxes here in Illinois, today the range in the area is $3.32 to $3.39. Last week they were down at least a dime.

I'm still fighting this horrible cold DH shared with me so I decided it's five o'clock some where and made me a toddy of lemon juice, hot water and wine YUM  I'm watching some sappy movie where a woman a two kids on an African safari are being attacked by lions. My friend just called and is bring me chicken soup, :D I told her just set it on the porch & I'd wave at her through the door! I don't want to give these germs to anyone!

Happy Anniversary Lori and Ernie may you have many many more!!

I just thought, has there been any news about Joane since her heart surgery?

I located her cell number in my address book and just left a message on her voice mail. Hopefully she will get the message and respond.

Good afternoon
Happy Anniversary, Lori and Ernie!

So true about those blues kicking in around holidays. Think the shorter days add to the problem.

Good thing the early part of last week was productive for me because the end of the week sure was not. And to top it off, I broke a tooth yesterday. Have been on phone much of the morning trying to get in to see dentist. Finally found one who will work me in around 2:00 today but only for x-rays and evaluation - a requirement before doing anything, and that requires a second appointment, ie more money. Not happy about that but am just praying there is enough tooth left to rebuilt it. Of course no dental insurance.

We had our first hard freeze Saturday night. Am hoping my hasty dry winterizing (minus one step) of Magic was sufficient. Cannot believe there is no means of verifying whether or not water heater is empty. That is the main thing I'm concerned about but that might be because I don't yet know enough of what other problems might be lurking somewhere. Am so looking forward to heading out to FL. Can't fuss too much about our weather as it was near perfect thru last Thursday. I didn't even grumble about blowing leaves - it was just good to be outside. Then it suddenly turned cold.
Have a safe, fun day.

Happy Anniversary, Lori and Ernie! Happy day, happy years to you.

It's our "second morning" here now. The William had to get up urgently about 5:00, and after we'd been in and out a few times, I went back to bed. Now it's morning again! Reminds me of that funny bit out of the Lord of the Rings movie, when Strider and the hobbits are first traveling together.

Strider: Why are you stopping?
Pippin: It's time for breakfast.
Strider: You've had breakfast.
Pippin: Not second breakfast!
Merry: I don't think he knows about second breakfast, Pip.
Pippin: But what about elevenses? Lunch? Tea? Dinner? Supper? Does he know about those?

So now I am having second breakfast!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO LORI AND ERNIE!

36 years sounds like an impossible record to me, for a marriage! It seems as if the "glory" of it all wears very thin after about 10 years, in my case, and with most of my friends. So you both deserve a medal or two, and a super-duper supper out somewhere! Pics would be fun to share, yes?

The blues always hang around during the holidays, for the reasons most of you spoke of, but Carol seemed to get right on-----sulking if you are alone and remembering all the bustle and hubub of family days gone by for which we all yearn at this holiday time of the year. I found it very easy to feel sorry for myself if I had to spend the holidays alone, but that getting out and about always seemed to help for the reasons Carol said----other people and conversations and sharing can detract from those "woe is me" feelings! I have done so much better since I got out of my isolated house in the mountains during the long cold winters, and moved into places where people can get outside, enjoy the decorations, go camping, go swimming, go hiking,, go biking, etc. I do really miss that rush of feeling that the first snowfall always brought, and I miss cross-country skiing. BUT----all else considered, I am much happier doing what I do these days.

It seems that Melissa, my daughter-in-law, has gotten me an appointment with a dermatologist this Friday to have those two things that are growing on my legs cut off, or at least looked at. It's way past time I did that. Cross your fingers that it isn't melanoma, or all my newly found happiness might just evaporate!

Gotta go now----hope you all had a wonderful day, and that your night will be fun, too!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Will you be only in the Phoenix area? Gas is about 20-25 cents cheaper in Tucson. I get gas every time I drive to Tucson - whether I need it or not lol

Make sure you let me and Ava know in advance - so we can do a gtg with you while you're here, if possible. I'm only an hour from Phoenix or Tucson - so I can get either place.

Good very late morning everyone! I usually read in the morning but not coherent enough to type anything until after coffee! Wished Lori and Ernie a Happy Anniversary on FB. Soos, we made it to not quite 39 years. One day I tried to figure how many houses, cars, and pets we had. Don't ask me why. 2 houses, not sure on the others! Especially the pets!!!I'm pretty much settled into my own holiday routines now, just a little nostalgia for the old days, but that goes also back to my childhood. It's been a beautiful sunny day today, but supposed to rain tonight. My neighbors raked leaves. I didn't!You all have a great nite!!!! Wendy
