It is what my father would want me to do..... (and he didn't particularly get along with her through the years....) and there is no one else to step up to the plate....particularly her own daughter who has lived in NYC for the last 30 years.... I think working with individuals with disabilities all these years has helped....I think of her lack of interpersonal skills and empathy for others perspectives (it is all about her syndrome and her way is always the proper right way) as a disability...... It helps me respond without taking things personally as much....and I now after years...I will speak up and respond to issues...she doesn't like it...she most often doesn't understand but I don't "hear" as much negative garbage either..... I have learned a lot from her the past 40 years....just NOT what she thinks she is teaching
