I’m having difficulty getting down on the floor, so I decided I’d better do some yoga. There aren’t any classes here, so I have to do it myself. Hopefully the poses will come back to me as I do more. I enjoy my walks on the beach, but those don’t really help with flexibility. Enjoy today. Peggy

Peggy it's good to hear you are in your warm spot for the winter and the weather is better. I know what you mean about getting back into yoga. I realized my flexibility was getting bad and I started doing yoga one day and weights the next. My neighbor volunteered to be my coach so I message her each day when I have finished. If she doesn't hear from me she sends a 'nag' reminder. I've been doing it a month now and can really tell the difference. I've noticed poses that used to be so automatic do take some thought and I find I have to pause and be sure I'm in the correct position.

Anne I have seen both those movies. I loved the dog named Christmas. Every once in a while I have seen a good Hallmark movie, they are not all bad but so many are very similar. I do like some of the actors tho. I usually am doing something else while those movies are on as it isnt hard to follow the plots.

Barbie it was the same with nursing school. We were taught alot of theory and we did have clinicals 2 days a week when we were in the hospital. And I did learn quite a bit. Then we had to pass the NCLEX national test that all registered nurses have to take. Ours was 2 days of testing morning and afternoon. Then we had to wait a couple of months for our results. We took it with all the other Oregon graduates (some were retesting when they didnt pass a few months before) We could work as a GN graduate nurse until we got our results. I was at work when I found out I passed thank goodness. I found out real quickly that I didnt know much about the real world of nursing LOL But I was a fast learner and paid attention to the older experienced nurses. The real world was very different from school clinicals. The nurses that graduate now take a computer test in an afternoon and get their results right away. If they pass a certain percentage of questions the computer shuts off and they get their results right then. Same thing if they miss too many questions. I am glad I was a nurse when I was and not today. In fact I loved being a nurse but I wouldnt encourage anyone to go into nursing nowadays. It is brutal. Retirement suits me just fine.

I pick and choose Hallmark movies. I think they've come a long way. Yes, still feel good, but lots more substance. I haven't been watching them as much but that's because I've been binging lots of the drama TV shows. Because I didn't watch TV much for the first 10 plus years rving, lots of them I never heard of. So having all these choices is wonderful. And discovering some of the made for the cable network shows that I binge also. I'm hoping the next season of some of them comes out soon but I'm sure that writers strike effected them also.

Funny, but if you went back to my childhood I wanted to be an author. I used to write a lot, from poetry to short stories and even had some ideas for novels. I no longer have that desire. Or feel I have the talent for it that I once really did have. But writing on here I can go on and on and on lol. Luckily I'm not the only verbose person on this forum.

And Peggy, I'm looking forward to your posts from Mexico again this winter. Enjoy.

woke up to a worrisome text supposedly from the bank screenshot it and sent it to #3 dd who works for a bank not mine but figured she would know what to do... she said to not reply to it which I didn't do but did decide to call the bank from the number on the back of my debit card didn't see any tries said to e-mail to the fraud dept so had to call youngest to see how to do that hopefully I did it correctly dd suggested that I block the number couldn't figure out how to do that so just deleted it... this seemed to take awhile read my scriptures and just vegged out can't say it was even anything productive... tomorrow I need to give mom a shower and need milk so going to the store for that the fish truck is in tomorrow so thinking of going to get fish and chips not sure how to do it mom will surprise me and eat if I plan on her eating only one she will want two guess I will see when I get there... I don't like where it's scheduled to be it's harder to get into in the winter so this will probably be the last one till spring that I will go to... parking is further away as well
I do watch Hallmark movies and mysteries and yes they are pretty similar what gets me is the repeat we've only had Christmas movies going since I got back and already have seen some of the movies a couple of times I really don't understand the reasoning there!!!if they have to repeat and as many movies as they have that is questionable why can't it be a repeat on a monthly basis....
on another thing I did do was finally pay for my tags on the 5th wheel here it is the year is almost over and I'm finally did it..
my niece brought this huge pomegranate finally cut it open it had to have at least 2 cups o seeds no that isn't the right term but the right one has escaped sure have enjoyed them
still need to run the dish washer... it's been having a funky odor don't know where to locate it and what to do with it I did run a cleaner one time didn't help much been wondering if it's the sink without the disposal might run some stuff down it ...
you all have a great day good to hear from some that we haven't heard from in awhile... hopefully others will as well

My mother had 4 sister's that were nurses, 3 RN's and one LPN. My grandmother had 8 kids and they grew up poor as share croppers. They didn't have the money to go to school so some kind of way they worked at a hospital and learned as they worked. I never did ask if they had classes. This was probably in the early 1940's. When I started college I was going to go into nursing and two of my aunts told me I didn't want to do that. I ended up in accounting which was probably kind of what my dad did. He was in the Air Force and we always said he was in base supply. What he probably was, was a purchasing agent. All we heard about was how much money the government wasted.

Martha, what is a "punching agent"?

Just curious, don't think I have ever heard that term.

Thanks.

That's me not reading what I'm posting. It's purchasing agent.

LOL! Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking that it must be some kind of deep-South, maybe just Louisiana, term that I didn't know about.

****THIS ACTUALLY WAS ON THURSDAY...OOPS!****

Well, my day went south early in the afternoon today.

I gathered all my trash and empty bottles to take to the dumpster and then decided to clean out my car too. As I was standing next to my car removing empty bottles, I felt several stinging sensations on my feet and ankles. I looked down and I was standing on a fire ant mound (in my driveway!) and had several ants crawling on me and biting me! I quickly brushed them off and moved my car back a ways to take a look at where the ants were at and get out of their way. As I looked around, I found a couple more ant mounds with ants crawling around. I have a 5X5 ft piece of fake grass that I have on my front patio and have my table and chairs on that. There were several ants around the edge of that so I lifted it up and to my horror, I saw thousands of fireants all over underneath it!!! I went in the house and all I could find to put on my burning bites was aloe vera but that seemed to work pretty good. Then I called security to find out who to call to get rid of them. They said they would send out someone from the landscape crew shortly. Well, being that I had a showing tomorrow I wanted to get rid of the ants today so the people looking at the house tomorrow wouldn't get attacked walking down the driveway! No one showed up to take care of the ants so I went to Home Depot and bought a large jug of fire ant killer. Came home and put that all over the nests and under the grass mat. I lifted the other side of the mat and found a whole 'nother swarm of ants! :o Got them covered in the powder too. I guess they get disturbed by the scalping of the lawn and they move to other places to set up their new homes.

Then I got a message from my agent that the couple interested in seeing my house tomorrow changed their minds. So that took the wind out of my sails! I just moped on the couch the rest of the evening. I am so discouraged every time that happens. So the only ones interested in my place are fire ants!

Am going to bed early tonight to get this day over with sooner than later. I didn't get anything done today other than the trash. Didn't even eat much. Obviously, I was in no mood to go to the dance tonight.
