I actually was on the Keto diet for about a year. I was pretty strict. But I found it a bit restrictive so I transitioned to low carb. I now do low carb. I like some of the veggies not allowed on strict Keto. So what I do now is just eat them in moderation. I also make a sandwich but I only make half a sandwich with low carb bread. I am not a big fan of red meat with hamburger being the exception as I like casseroles. Cauliflower rice is super good so I like to use that in my casseroles. Chicken is fine and fish is good. I try to have salmon a couple times a week but dont always make that. I like watching Dr Berry's videos and I learned alot from him. He is strict Keto tho. I like salads in the summer so I need to get back to them as soon as the weather changes. There are many diets out there but decreasing carbs, sugar, and I also count calories is a good start. I use MyFitnessPal.com to log my food when I feel like logging. I learned alot from just entering my meals.

Anne, I love the name but am glad you decided to not make the design not match jewelry.

Thanks, Beth! I took a design class once, so many years ago that don't exactly remember where or when. One thing that I remembered (it was true then, not sure if it is still true now) is how color is used in businesses. For example, one doesn't see a calm, blue color scheme in places like restaurants, one generally sees reds and burgandy colors. Why? Because blue makes people feel calm (and thus encourages them to stay longer) while reds encourage people to "get moving" (and thus encourages them not to linger after a meal!).

I finally realized that "fire and brimstone" would not encourage visitors to linger in my shop, so went with the blue design, with the hope they might stay a while!

Anne it sounds as though you are enjoying getting your Esty site going. Not much going on here still trying to keep Pippa reasonable quiet and trying to keep her hair combed out. About a week ago the texture of her hair seemed to change overnight and I have to brush her every day. I'm in search of a groomer, they are as hard to find as a good doctor!!

Oh my. I do hope you are able to find a good groomer. Good M.D.'s around here are about as rare as hen's teeth. At my doctor's direction, I had some medical tests done about a month ago now. The results were posted on my medical portal, so I could read them, which I did. Never heard back from the doctor! I'm not sure what I am supposed to do with reading these tests - treat myself?

I like the name of your store Anne you could put a big full moon over the lake casting light on it
or maybe make it twilight so it's not totally dark but close to it...

Thanks, Sheila. I like your suggestion of a full moon - I'll need to look around and see if I can find an image with a moon over a lake. It would actually be pretty difficult with my skill set level (using PhotoShop) to add in a moon to the photo that is there, because the light source (a moon) would subtly change every thing else about the photo - light level, shadows on the mountains, shadows on the lake, etc.

I did accent the "milky way" star field in the existing photo (both in the sky and it's reflection in the lake) so it is more easily seen, but adding a moon to this existing photo would be beyond my abilities if I wanted to get it right, and not look fake.

But thanks again! I'm now on the hunt for a moon-over-lake photo!

Thanks, Liz! Interesting that you should mention that you don't wear jewelry - as a young woman, if I wore jewelry I mostly wore pendants (maybe that's why most of my jewelry necklaces are pendants!). As I got older, I didn't often wear jewelry - until I started making it.

Years ago, I took a trip to the desert southwest, visiting mostly dinosaur sites (of which there are more than one might think!). I remember one place had a nice gift shop, featuring many jewelry pieces made by the local Navajo people. It was a silver-and-blue butterfly pendant on a silver chain, and very reasonably priced (if I remember correctly, it was only about $15.00 - this would have been at least thirty years ago).

I wore that necklace almost every day for several years. Some part of it would break, I would repair it, and continue wearing it. Finally it just gave up the ghost, and I put it away (I doubt that I tossed it). I wish I knew where it was, I would really like to see it again - especially now, since I am making my own jewelry.

I think that this necklace, and the Navajo artist who created it (a woman, her name was on the piece when I bought it), must have inspired me in some small way.
