I also was in a depressive funk for most of this winter, but I mostly cured myself when I decided to stop teaching!! I am feeling much better, but just can't wait for the next two weeks and two remaining assignments to be over. Mostly, I have lost my enthusiasm over the class because of the changes that have taken place in last few years that resulted in me having to teach things that were not adequately explained in the course, but not being able to write stuff to explain it. And the course has gone from a report writing to a letter writing course because of a change of department chairs and philosophy. Also getting tired of students who don't bother reading assignments and instructions. Can't say any more, however. Anyway, we had a dept meeting via Zoom yesterday, so I said goodbye to everyone. Dept chair says she will put me on the schedule if I decide to teach a class here and there, so that is a nice gesture.
Going shopping and buying some new shirts and a couple pairs of shorts also helped. Have not bought new clothes for more than a year! Will be glad to get back to Michigan and visit with old friends, also, so have that to look forward to!!
It got up to 95 today, but then rained a little, which cooled everything down to 84 at about 3 pm. Also, I learned that I have camped in a really good place in this state park because they are huge cliffs to the west of me, right across from the Colorado River. What that means is that the sun sets at 4:00 pm because of the impressively high cliff. The farther away you are camped here, the later the sun sets!! Tomorrow it is supposed to be 91, but i leave on Monday for the really high elevations of Frisco, CO, which is about 25 miles north of Breckenridge. It is also on a lake and has a great paved bike trail I can ride on. Supposed to be chilly there, also.
