Tina, I laughed out loud thinking Lark isn't high maintenance. Judy, I'll do that when I'm next back before trying anything else.

Anyone out west with clear skies there's a total eclipse overnight tonight. I'd probably stay up all night but clouds have come in and it sounds like they'll be here all night.

I have never had much luck with recliners. I find them very uncomfortable for my back and neck. I guess maybe I haven't spent the money on a really good one.

Had a good day. Not productive but fun. I went to the pool with Cindy at noon and we swam, chatted, and laid in the sun some. Were there for about 2 hours. It was hot out (100*) but had some light cloud cover and a good breeze and the water was perfect. I need to get to the pool more often! I have several pool toys but couldn't find them today. Maybe they are in my storage locker. Will have to check tomorrow. I used a pool noodle I found there, to get around so I wouldn't strain my shoulder trying to swim.

After the pool, I got cleaned up and picked up Cindy to go to the casino and have lunch. There is an ice cream shop there that also serves food. I wasn't expecting much but it was really good! I had a grilled chicken sandwich and she had a burger. We were too full for ice cream but vowed to come back just for that one day.

Came home and took a short nap. After swimming, sun, lunch, and a drink, I was ready for that! :D

I am meeting with the owner of the shop tomorrow at 11am. Will see what he has to say. I will give him a copy of my incident report (I had to make my own since they don't seem to have a form for that, or anything other complaint forms for that matter). I am not sure he has the full story of what happened. I told my manager what happened and she told them what I said, but the GM didn't know anything about what was said to me by Jaz, so I think it is like that game "telephone" where you whisper something to the person next to you and they tell it to the next person and so on, until the last person has a completely different story.

I have gotten good advice from this lady I found on FB on my Decluttering group last week. She and her hubby are a retired employment lawyer and judge. She told me what to say and what not to say and what to do if this doesn't get resolved appropriately.

The GM had told me they moved me to the other shop because Jaz is full-time and I am just part-time and they need a full-time person at my shop. Well, things have slowed down significantly for the summer now and I checked the schedule for the past 3 weeks and even without me there, he has only been scheduled for 24 hours per week. I am allowed to work 24 hours per week, so that is not a valid excuse. They can find another stylist by fall (October) to do full-time (32+ hours) as needed when we get busy again.

I plan to bring up some of these things if necessary, but I do not want to get into an argument or get defensive at all. Just have a calm discussion about this.

Anyways, I needed a calm, relaxing and fun day today (after some retail therapy yesterday :D ). I should sleep well tonight.

I'm going to have to remember and check if it has the adjustments (I never knew they had adjustments, either) underneath next time I'm back to the casita. It seemed a little easier this past winter, but maybe my legs were just getting stronger fighting it lol. While I was typing this you posted that furniture repair will be coming, Shirl... Good news.

A couple days ago Ty started limping. Usually when his patella (kneecap) goes out I've seen it happen. This time, I'm thinking he must have landed bad jumping down from the bed that morning, because he was fine at night, and not when I got up. It hasn't happened for probably over a year which is a good thing, as if it happens too much it will lead to surgery. Last night I started looking for vets and decided I'd be calling to take him to whoever could see him tomorrow while I'm off. I know it doesn't hurt him supposedly at this stage, but it's never lasted long before he or I manage to get it back in. So I was thrilled when I got up this morning and he's using that leg like nothing ever happened. Now I'm hoping we go another year or more before it does it again.

While I was typing this one of the workampers in the rv park came by and gave me a container of fresh strawberry ice cream she just made. Yum. No one's going to believe me but I've been so good and haven't had any ice cream since I got here. That just changed!

Toby had surgery for the patella in one of his knees and now the other its giving him problems. I give him 1-2 drops of NuLeaf Naturals CBD every day. They have one for pets but i called the company and their regular one is ok for dogs. They also told me how many drops to give him for his weight which is 30#.. Not all CBD products are safe for dogs due to some ingredients. DH has knee pain so it is convenient that they take the same one :) I can always find a 20 % or 30% off coupon. I put the drops on a small treat I cover with almond butter. I hope Ty doesn't need surgery!

you all have a good night

Sheila, thank you for the good wishes.

I'm sure that all of us out here in the west are all hoping for rain. Unfortunately, the chances of receiving any more measurable rain here in California much before October or November are slim to none, emphasis on none. In California, most all of our rain comes between October/November and March/April.

From early April to late October (6 or 7 months), when the temperatures are the highest - it is not at all unusual to have many days (weeks, sometimes) in my area with daily temps with highs of 105 - 115. And I don't live in the desert, I live in the prime agricultural area of California's central valley, north of the state capitol of Sacramento.

I think it is a very great worry here that last year's terrible fire season will repeat itself. We are in the beginnings of the fire season now, it will only get worse as the drought persists and temperatures increase - highs of 100 degrees +/- are predicted for my area for
Sunday, 106 +/- for next Tuesday.

Conditions are worse now than they were at this time last year. One can only hope that the fires don't come again - last year there were more than 4 million acres burned in California (4,397,809) at a cost of over 12 billion dollars ($12.079 billion) with over 10 thousand buildings destroyed (10,488) and 31 deaths, due to fires.

And these are only the statistics for California. . . as our Oregon forum members well know, Oregon had a very terrible fire season also.

California has around 33 million acres of forested land, which works out to about one-third of the state's total land area, much of it owned/managed by the federal government (not state government). So the thought that we as Californians need to "rake our forests" to prevent wildfire is pure fantasy.

Check the map below - California's forests comprise a land area larger than the entirety of a couple of east-coast states.

We are all kind of sitting on pins and needles here, waiting to see what happens.
