You can use them for what ever you want. They can be waterproofed on the inside to be used as a vase but I didn't do that to this one. I am more just practicing right now with different ideas. Am learning as I go!
They are very lightweight so to use them for certain things, they need to be weighted down inside. I put some spare change in this one while I was working on it outside to keep it from blowing over in the wind while the paint and sealer was drying.

Barbie, I loved the pictures of the gourds, also. Your sense of imagination is super! I can't wait to see more.
