Glad you will be going to a chiropractor. I too probably have to go at least once a month for the rest of my life due to a head on car crash (stupid teenager crossed a double yellow line to pass a tanker).
The first chiro I went to for probably 6 years, only did the hard adjustments where you could really feel the spine move and it hurt. Figured I was always going to be in permanent pain until the end of my days.
I found a new chiropractor and just from her initial exam I felt immediate relief. The one I go to also does what Sue mentioned. When you call to make appointments or go in to see the chiropractor, ask if they use the Thompson drop method also. That is what mine does (table drops with little or no pressure instead of the chiro forcibly moving your spine ).
