The Big Chill

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good evening everyone,
Glad to hear Anita & Carolb are waiting a couple of days... This cold is no fun - not sure what the 20's would feel like in an RV, but I'd vote to stay where its warm for a few more days.
JudyB, glad you double-checked the Michelin recalls. And double-glad I didn't put them on my big van last year - local tire dealer that I trust told me to save some money & go with Hankooks before I brought it back from FL. I know they might be considered not as good as Michelins but they rarely loose air pressure & hold the road securely - unlike whatever I have on my minivan. (Can't wait until they need to be replaced)

DD, SIL & grands just left to go back home to Dallas yesterday. Love having them but also love my quiet. Lots of comings/goings/meals/dogs (they bring theirs & grand daughter brings hers)/fun... but I think they were ready to get back to their own place & routine as was I. Hate the kids living so far away - casual get-togethers don't happen anymore. :(

Well, I'm supposed to be working on annual reviews - better get with it.
Hope everyone stays warm (no matter where you are) & safe.

I was watching for your post Barbie and wondered if you got to work ok. Glad you made good tips but sorry you had to go out. Yes, we are staying in, haven't seen many cars go by.
I made a Italian Beef sandwiches for dinner, I could feed the neighborhood with leftovers!

The temps didn't get quite as cold today as they had predicted. "Only" about -13 below  with very little wind. However, the temps are dropping quickly now and the winds are starting to pick up. -30 tonight with -60 windchills by morning. I doubt my Jeep will start. It groaned a lot this morning. I am hoping they just close the shop for the whole day. Lots of other businesses are already closing for tomorrow. Considering how busy all our shops were today, they probably won't tho. Money, money, you know!

We're at about -13 right now with a -28 wind chill by tomorrow morning it's going to be -40 wind chills. I've already called in and told my boss I won't be going in tomorrow. Not going to have any effect on the shop production because I don't have any workers on the 1st and 3rd Monday every month anyway. I just sit in my office and try to look busy. I can log in a couple hours from working at home. Haven't worked a full week since the first week in December...it's going to be tough when I have to!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

We're just a little ahead of you with -20*/-45* windchill right now and dropping fast as the winds pick up. The MN Zoo will be closed tomorrow, as well as the sledding and ski areas. Even Chicago now is closing schools for tomorrow. There are windchill warnings in 11 states. Luckily, just 2 more days of this and then a January thaw by the weekend! Yay! What a crazy winter.

Enjoy your day off! Wish I could call in and not go in tomorrow, but I am the only one scheduled for the morning. Only my car knows if I will be to work on time!
