Speaking of hard cider, Jack Daniels this year has put out a apple cider liquor called Winter Jack which is pretty yummy. We've been drinking it cold around the camp fire but they suggest you drink it warm.

Woodchuck is a commercial brand of hard cider that is actually pretty good, though not as good as most of the English local varieties. Years back, my son brought some home from college, to introduce me to a new drink. I do love it when his present collides with bits of my past that he didn't know about. Anyway, I think it's widely distributed -- at any rate, the winery is in Vermont and I can find it many places in Michigan.
