First Monday of the New Year

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

First Monday of the New Year

Postby Irmi » Mon Jan 07, 2013 7:11 am

Good morning everyone!

Coffee is on, there is also orange juice and chocolate milk here, so help yourself to your favorite morning beverage.

Today is Barbie's first day at the new job. I can't wait to hear how things went for her. And lot of others here are preparing for the FL GTG, which will be coming up in just a couple weeks. The weather should be beautiful then. I'm thinking of different things to prepare for the meals, especially things that can be easily put together in the crockpot. We never lack for lots of good food at these GTG's.

We're starting off in the 50's this morning in Ocala and will get into the high 60's later with a chance of morning showers. Tomorrow we'll get into 70's and on Wednesday, we'll reach 80! I hope everyone has a good day!

The weather for traveling looks like it's jst going to be too good to pass-p, so I'm cancelling my mammo appt that's on the 15th. Lori, I'm so sad that yew & crew won't be there?? :( Are yew somewhere that's on my way to the Ocala area???? A mini-GTG possible??? Send PM if so :D

Kathleen, safe travels to MO. Barbie, good wishes on new job today, & BTW, I'm glad yew fownd a good home for Shama. Happy "zapping" to Soos. Red, best wishes for yore first big trip. Sarah, I hope there is good news abot BIL. Martha, hope DH is feeling better, too.

Speaking of Sarah, I too get little knots in my stomach every once in a while when I think of my trip, so maybe others can chime in, see if this is "normal." I agree that others make it seem so effortless. And I will LOL anytime I want

Thanks for wishes for a good dinner with bro--it WAS! & so was the wine!

62,000 miles on Hope plus 2000 on my previous rv for the maiden voyage and I still get a lump in my belly everytime I pull out of the driveway. It goes away a couple of miles down the road, I get this huge smile on my face and all is right with my world again.

And yes, I put all but 1200 of those miles on Miss Hope. All but a few towing a jeep.

SPEW!

That danged coffee fairy made me spew my coffee all over here! I have wanted too print that out for a long time now, so I bit the bullet and did it after I saw it. It took me a long time to get it to where I could print it in decent resolution and size, and then a longer time to figure out how to manage my new printer/fax/copier machine-----but I GOT it! Will have it for the GTG.

Now that the morning is nearly over, I need to take a long hot bath and then head out for my Monday zapping. It's not hot here today, but very nice temperature, actualy. Overcast, but I don't believe we got a drop of rain last night, and I was so hoping for some for this lawn and my shrubs and roses, etc. Oh well....I guess I still can't run the climate and weather, can I?

As for feeling nervous about packing, preparing and hauling to the GTG, those who know me and read all my anguished posts back then realize I nearly never left my property with my trailer after I bought it back home! Now, I still feel anxiety, of course, but I busy myself preparing. I need to fill my propane tank, check battery water levels, check tire pressures, put new sticker on license plate, make sure I have all the insurance stuff I need, pack clothes and food, unhook my electricity and water and sewer, and be sure I have a good map for finding my way, as well as programming Bessie, my truck GPS thing (no screen, just voice directions) and my TomTom GPS. The hardest thing to do is find a route with no tolls as I hate those....gas costs enough let alone road fees. But I have scouted it out a bit, and I don't think it should be hard to find the place. Unfortunately, I will still have some zapping appointments to finish, so I won't be able to go anywhere after that week I will take off. Actually, I will only one more zapping when I get home....will ask if I can squeeze that in before I leave maybe. I have a total of 13, and I opted for the three times a week program to get them over with.

Off to the tub I go----hope everyone has a fun day wherever you are.

Happy travels!

I used to get those knots as well with the 5er...that's one reason I got the camper to begin with. Decided for sightseeing I didn't need to be hauling all that. I know the camper size makes some shake their heads, but I love it.

Love the Coffee Fairy!!

Please think of me when you share the coffee fairy. Since I can't be there in person, you know I'll be there in spirit

I'm a full-timer, and I'll get knots every time after I've been sitting (such as workamping, seasons, etc). That first time again after a few months, knots form. Like Sharon, my knots disappear in minutes and instead I'm happy as can be. I love being on the road. Doesn't stop the knots though. I'm actually going through that a bit now with the trip for the Q gtg. My rig is a mess, set up for sitting still, so much to do to travel. (I know the inside will take no more than an hour or two, but feels like it'll be so much more. And I'm not tearing down the outside for this ... table and chairs, etc will stay here .... but the feelings are still with me.) However, as soon as I pull out the entrance of this park to head down the road, it all melts away and I'm in my proper place.

And, no, I don't get these nerves when on the road and stopping only a day or two or three, etc... only when stopping for long periods.

Good morning all! Sun in Alabama! Don't know how long its supposed to last. Going out to do some banking and think I am going to best Buy and get a kindle. Wasn.t going to but have about decided I will. Am glad the "old timers" still get the knots in the stomach. Im not new to rving but for the last few years to the driving. Don't think i will ever say I actually enjoy the driving but do so enjoy the getting away. It is not as bad once I get moving. It is for strictly economic reasons I am holding on this mh instead of getting something smaller. Anita, I would love a truck camper! We had one years ago, even with kids! There is a stray dog hanging around and it seems to have picked my yard. And the neighbors are feeding it! It looks friendly but jumper Pepper when i was taking him out to the car yesterday. Guess Ill ride around and see if anyone is out on the next couple blocks over and ask if it belongs over there. Ya'll have a FUN and a SAFE day. Wendy
