Brrrrrr it's cold here this morning. Weather station saying 29 in the town I am staying near. Right here on the lake, may be a little colder. Haven't checked my outdoor temp gauge yet. Had no water through the water hose. Thank goodness for fresh water tank. Gotta have my coffee. It's supposed to warm up fast when the sun comes up. Mom wants to go to Walmart today to get heavy coat. She gave all hers away. She said she did not think we would ever be where she would need a coat again. Told her even in Florida, can get cold occasionally.

Don't think Buddy had ever been covered up at night. You could hear him flying against the sides of the birdcage for a while until he finally settled down. It kept startling Rascal. As usual, I am only creature in our MH that is awake. I am looking at the fog over the lake through my dining area window. It feels kind of strange where we are parked. There is no one down here but Mom and me. Paul is the only rig up on the hill and we cannot see him from here. Should be more RV's in here this weekend. The Ranger patrols pretty regularly. Mom says being down here by ourselves makes her uneasy. So far, I have not felt uneasy.

Sure hoping Tessa and Abby get to feeling better. With Ms. Reba, it is an ongoing battle for Zeee to figure out what she will like the taste of each day. Might even be Shuga's bird feed.

Going to go get my coffee. Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning all. Got down in the 30s last night. Starting to warm up as the sun comes out. Picked daughter up from airport last night. Took her to Joe's Crab Shack and we stuffed ourselfs with lobster, shrimp, clams and crab :D Now getting ready to take her back to the airport for her interview with United Airlines and then they will put her on a plane back to Seattle  Hope she gets the job, cuz she would be here for a month of training. :P

Sorry to hear about all the critters not feeling good. I have to take Tyler to the vet as well. His arthritis is getting to the point where we need to start meds. So far the Cosequin has helped enough, but now we need something for the pain. Its like me getting up after sitting for a while, sore, painful and stiff.

Not much else on my plate today. Everyone have a great day. Stay warm and safe. Aloha y'all

Good Morning Carolb, Zee, Dawn and everyone else who comes in for Coffee,

Bit of light snow flitting around here this morning. But big warm up coming this weekend, so I am thinking we will have bare ground again. Have a hard time remembering that this is still November. Feels more like December, but then it's only 3 days away.

Carolb, have fun with teaching the next two days. Nice to have some "extra" green coming in. Hope the new mattress works for you. I have Serta's on my bed and love em.

Zee, sounds like you do indeed have your "pill" thing down to an art. Same here. Sassy gets But put htea Proin pill twice a day and she knows when it's time. Unfortunately for me, her schedule is still on Daylight Saving Time as far as she's cncerned, so I get work up at 5 a.m. But put that pill in a piece of cheese and down it goes.

Dawn, sounds like you are getting quite a mengerie (sp?) in your home on wheels. Make it feel more like home. Your new feathered friend will settle down after it gets used to being covered. Probably felt trapped under there. Bird instinct.

As for Ms. Tessa. The vet called yesterday morning and we talked over the phone for a bit. Told him what going on and he said to stop the antibiotics and also wants me to bring her in today. I didn't give her any pills yesterday and I noticed that she is a bit more perky to a point. She did eat up some of her dinner last night, mostly the wet food and a bit of dry kibble and then shared some scrambled egg with me this morning. Plus she has some interest in her favorite dog treats again. So we shall see what the vet has to say today. I"m sure he is going to run the usual "p" sample, some blood work etc. to see what the status of the kidney function is and for all I know, maybe put her on the special diet he's been talkinb about. I wish I could have left her on the dry kibble she was on earlier last month as she seemed to really like it, but unfortunately it's protein content is too high for a dog with kidney disease. I'm thinking it's getting to a point where it's going to be a toss up between whether letting her eat what she wants and let nature take it's course, or trying the diet and hoping it helps her feel better and enjoy life a bit. This appt. will also help me decide whether to keep my plans to head north for the holidays or stay home here, close by the vet is needed. He might want to check her further this next month. What will be will be. We do what's best for our "fur kids".

So that's what's on my agenda for this morning. Once that's done, then off to the Pet Food Store to replenish Ms. Sassy's food supply. If the trip is still on, have a few things to do while i am up town. If not, will come home and get into doing some things around here, namely putting away stuff I have ready to go north.

So, with all that in mind, I am going to head off and start my day. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Those with health issues, will keep you in my prayers, those on the road, travel safe and enjoy your travels.

Good Morning all, It's cold here too with lots of frost, thankfully though no snow yet! I hear people saying we will have a cold winter because of various signs, like the persimmons have all spoon shapes if you cut one open instead of the usual pattern and the look of the wooly worms! It is supposed to warm up to around 60 by this weekend. The guy that was supposed to wax Elsie yesterday called and rescheduled as it was too bad out yesterday.
A friend from Kansas City was in town yesterday and called to say she would stop by to bring us one of her annual rum cakes which I love. I had told her we had been really sick and I would understand if she didn't want to come in and risk getting germed. She had a friend with her who couldn't risk it as her DH is not well so we chatted a moment through the door. Not only did she bring the cake, she had made me a beautiful felt cloche style felt hat!
My heart goes out to you Sue, I know what you are going through with Tessa and trying to decide how to proceed.
Time to get the dogs and me fed, DH decided he felt up to the gym this morning. He really likes going and doesn't like to miss. I'm feeling better too but will get my exercise catching up on laundry!

I just realized today is Toby's birthday he is a year old! I'll have to give him a special treat. I used to have parties for Nickel my first poodle. One year I had two of my friends little girls over, they were both eating a Tootsie Roll Pop and I saw one take a lick and then give Nickel a lick. I said oh no honey too many germs. She gave me a serious look, took another lick and said I'm sorry, I didn't mean to give her germs.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Was thinking this morning of this November just slipping away, as it were.

My most vivid memory of one of my high school days was my English teacher reminding us that there would "never be another October 23rd 1953." For some reason, this was the first time I faced the fact that time passes one way only, and it was as if a lightning bolt struck me. I have often wondered if that teacher realized what an effect on my life those simple words he uttered way back then made. As a kid, I guess we think time is an idea that can go both forward and backward, and not that each second we live will never come around again. Time is a dimension that has always fascinated me from that time forward.

Now then, I didn't mean to be so inspired and philosophical when I opened my computer this morning. The moral of all this is to live each second to your utmost, I suspect, as there are no re-runs in real life. It was a hard lesson I learned way back when.

Today I need to make my turkey soup whilst I find a place to set up my Christmas tree. I suppose I can deal with those two things simultaneously! Then tonight I am planning to go to a homeowner's meeting at the clubhouse. I have never been to one, and it should be an experience!

I will be anxious to hear what the vet says about dear little Tessa today, Sue. You and she have been through a long, tough period. Just hug her closely while you can.

Carol, I, too, am awaiting a new mattress set from Macey's, a queen-sized plush something or other, which is bound to be better than the queen air mattress I am currently sleeping on. It should come in about a week, they told me. On sale for Black Friday online for 389 bucks, down from 900 something. We shall see!

Dawn and Zee are having such a fun time with their new feathery-furry-finny creatures! Birds are amazing little bundles of entertainment. I once had a crow named Joe who flew free where I was living in my old log cabin over the mountain. He helped me pull the old shingle fasteners out of the roof I was re-doing, and would drop them into the coffee can I had just to hear them DING, I believe!

Red it would be fun if your daughter gets that job and can come back and spend the holiday with you! Fingers crossed here!

Remember, there will never be another November 28th, 2012, so grab all you can today wherever you may be or whatever you may be doing!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning Everyone - We stopped at the bakery yesterday in the big Mega SuperMercado here in Mazatlan and have lots of good stuff.
For everyone who wondered - yes the ribs were as good as they looked, even better. I had my leftovers for dinner last night. Yesterday we just messed around town. Took a couple friends to the TelCel place so they could get their Internet stick. Went to the Central Market so they could look around. After a minute or two in the raw meat and chicken area they were ready to leave......Had lunch in a very nice restaurant in the Central Historic district then home.
I wish I could share some of the heat here with you guys. In the high 80s - Thank goodness this campground has good power so we can run the AC.
I think today we'll do some much needed cleaning and go to the ATM to pay the campground US$15 a day. There are about 8 rigs here. One RV park downtown that is always full is completely empty. Hope it's just because it is early in the season.
Travel safe and stay healthy.

Good Morning... so many interesting posts already... so sorry the four footers are feeling under the weather... hopefully they will all be better soon...
Dawn that sounds like a nice view...
My view is a lot of sunshine and quite cold here but as Sue we will have a warm up by the end of the week into the 50s... sure is strange weather...
I got my cable yesterday and wireless internet from Comcast... I got fed up with the limited space Verizon allows you.... I play games and read the forum and nothing huge but it kept going up... so now lets hope things will be fine...
I hope you all have a great day and drive safe if you are on the roads...

Good Morning,

A beautiful day in Salome AZ. LeRoy is out on the RZR so I have some hours without interruption!

My sister turns 55 today and she put a wonderful post on her FB page. I hadn't remembered she is 55 today and that is the birthday our mother didn't reach. So yes, each day needs to be lived! I think that is one reason this 'relationship' with LeRoy is getting to me - while he makes every effort to be accommodating, I find I am living his schedule more often than not lately. Yesterday he was critical of how I manage my time and because I don't always want to ride with him in the RZR (like the other 2 gals we ride with who go everyday - sorry they have no other life!) I think we will both be glad to see March come when we go our separate ways for about 11 months.

Sorry for all the pet health issues - another reason I don't have a pet - because I do know how hard it is. I remember my older daughter having a sick dog one time and her saying she was never having kids because babies, like pets, can't tell you what is wrong! She has 3 children - plus 3 dogs, 2 cats, and goats. :)

And most especially thoughts and prayers for all the sistahs with health issues.

Coffee is nearly gone so I best get a move on.....

Carolb, I know about the back problem and a good mattress is an absolute must. I have tried every kind and have found a pillow top firm is best for me. So much of pain is actually caused my inflammation. You might want to ask your doctor for Naproxen. It helps me. My head is spinning..all these new critters, Dawn now has added a fish and bird, Barbz, a bird and all this cooking going on..girls, please no reptiles :o
By the way, I own a pet store which doesn't make me an expert since I rarely even go in it...but my partner is very knowledgable about any kind of creature...he gets calls and requests for help with fish, critters, reptiles, you name it..he has studied this half his life.
Soos, it was in another thread but you mentioned the places on your legs that itch...it sounds like kerotosis (not considered pre-cancerous but easily frozen). I have them and for some reason the ones on my legs always itched too. I just go get them frozen and medicare hasn't balked so far. There have been enough cases now that prove they can become malignant.
I read all the posts and my final analysis is 'Life goes on'..... I rejoice with good news and feel sorrow for the not so good news...as my grandmother used to say 'none of it will matter in 50 years' sadly, this is true, I think...

Good morning gals!

Spent my first night with a doggie companion by my side! She slept all night long next to me and I ended up waking her up at 8am to go outside!
She is so sweet and very smart and well behaved. She waits for me to invite her up on the couch or bed. She plays with her toys like a cat, tossing them in the air and pouncing on them! So cute! She knows quite a few commands too. She loves to have her belly rubbed!

The weather here sounds like what the rest of you are getting. Mid 30's right now with 50's this weekend. Fine by me!

Hope you all have a great day and those under the weather (and pooches) feel better soon!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Soos, you are too deep for my headache this morning. lol I have been waking up with a headache for a couple of weeks. I still have a jar of Halloween candy and have gotten in the habit of eating 3 or 4 pieces every night. It doesn't take me long to pick up bad habits. Going to try skipping chocolate and see if that's giving me the headaches.

It was gray and foggy earlier. The fog is gone but it's still very gray. I don't think we are suppose to get any rain but it sure looks like it could rain. Last night I found it kind of cool in the house and this morning was thinking about looking for my winter robe. Finally went and looked at the thermostat and someone had put it on cool and it's 72. I know it wasn't warm enough yesterday to have the air conditioner on so don't know why DH put it on cool.

BJ, that's funny about the Tootsie Pop. I don't remember what show I was watching but they said you could give your dog gum disease by letting them kiss you on the mouth. That's not something I would do but my friend lets her dogs kiss her on the mouth all the time. When my son was little the dogs and cats followed him around all the time because there was a good chance of an extra treat.

My son and I were at a pet store that had a medium size, light blue bird. Don't know what kind it was but it was trying to copy the sounds my son was making. It was really a pretty bird. I never would let him get a bird because with all the cats it would have been like Sylvester and Tweetie. Same reason I never put up a birth bath. I like to watch them stalk birds. When the bird flies off they walk off nonchalantly like I wasn't trying to catch that bird anyway.

Good Morning from RAINY, WINDY coastal Eureka. And the weatherman says 2 more big storms to come. Alerting us to flooding as they are predicting 10 inches of rain over the next 4 days.....sheesh and I came here ON PURPOSE. The bright spot is I will get a paycheck for the first time in almost 6 months this Friday.

Work is OK, it isn't a bad job, just the morale at this hospital is pretty poor right now. And they are in contract negotiations and are talking strike. Not the same as when I was here before. But the gals I work with are great so that is a plus. 12 more weeks. YIPPEE I am just kind of limping along for 15 more months when I can get my Social Security......meanwhile have to work at least 2 contracts a year to pay the bills.

I am off until Friday, then work 4 nights....yuk I hate 4 in a row but I think I will survive.

Hey it has temporarily stopped raining. Took the dog out a bit ago and it wasnt raining too hard then but of course now there is NO rain. I usually dash out in between storms cause I see some very dark clouds headed this way.

WOW lots of new pets lately. How fun is that?? Barbie your dog is soooo cute. Birds I dont know much about but I can relate to fish. Had a 55 gal aquarium for many years and got lots of enjoyment out of it. No fish tho here in this Motorhome. But I always look at them in the Pet stores. I also look at the birds too as they are fascinating. Have a friend that had 2 Green Wing Macaws...they were beautiful. She recently lost one to heart failure. She has a cage in her Motorhome behind the passenger seat and it is a BIG cage. Also has a perch that they sat on outside. Very entertaining, and noisy at times.
