Morning gang! Zeee, sorry that you lost your words! Hope your tests go well for you today and no significant problems are found.

Working on my second cuppa tea here this morning and tying to get motivated to get everything done that needs done so that I can head down to NC on Sunday or Monday for the annual Brandon Family Reunion. I've invited my daughter to come with me, but no word back from her yet if she will be able to or not.

I had planned on driving the trace this summer when I left Houston, but after looking at all the possible places to stop and things to see, decided that I'm really not any good at solo sight seeing. It just isn't fun for me without someone to share it with. So, I did some soul searching and decided to turn the rig towards home. I've been home for two weeks now, and will take the rig to NC for a week and then I plan on selling it. I still love to camp, but this rig was meant to travel the roads and to,live in. And since I still have a child to finish raising up and turning into a productive member of society, I've decided to hang up the keys for a while and concentrate on her. I know I've talked about downsizing, and I may still do that. I am really hoping that the dream has not gone, but that it will reform itself and I'll still be able to get out there and travel around. But we never know what tomorrow will bring, do we?

So, when I get back from NC I will take the rig to the mechanic and have her oil changed and a few other little odds and ends taken care of and ask him if he knows of anyone who might be looking to buy. I'm willing to sell the whole set up, jeep included, if anyone is interested. If not, I'll keep the jeep as she is already set up to be towed.

Don't know if anyone on here might be interested...I guess if you are you can contact me thru here for the details. I'd even be willing to deliver her. I am pretty sure that all of the gremlins have worked themselves out, as she did really well this summer. I did have to replace the motor on the steps, but that just one of those things.

I'm not planning on leaving the forum. Although I don't post much, I am here daily to check in on all of you. Gives me a connection, if ya know what I mean.

Well, everyone have a good day wherever you are and whatever you are doing. Be safe...have fun.

Good morning Barbzeee, Kathleen & everyone!

Barbzeee, so sorry you lost your post. I know you're not the first person this has happened to. After reading how others had lost theirs, I now copy all my posts before I hit Submit. I hope your tests go well today.

Kathleen, it sounds like you're having a great time, watching the deer and rabbits and enjoying time with your friends.

This coming Monday & Tuesday, Asplundh will be here to take down about ten of our trees and top off another ten that the power company says are too close to their right of way. It's going to be sad to see trees that are so old be taken down. I'm going to go work out and work off my frustrations.

Paulette, you posted the same time I did. I'm sorry to hear about your decisions to sell your rig, but maybe once your grand daughter has graduated, you may decide to get back on the road.

Good morning all. I have tried to post to this thread twice, but each time I hit submit I get logged out and returned to the login page. This time I won't try to write so much. Just wish everyone a good day from LeClaire, Iowa. Ok SUBMIT !!

Ok, it posted. Now I'll try to add more. Paulette, I understand the wanting to share the great sights with someone. That is one of my worries about soloing. But you will probably change your mind once your grand daughter graduates.

I sure like the open road for traveling better than air travel. This trip has had so many little problems tha makes me want to just stay home. We got on a small regional prop jet. It was over sold and they were offerinf $400 and overnight accomodations to give up your seat. My DH had boarding pass for 1a and mine said 1b. Got on the plane and there was no B. the plane had no Bs, just A, C, D. B was the aisle. Row one just had one seat. 1A then the aisle, then the bathroom. I sat in 2D and let the flight attendants decide who was going to be kicked off the plane. It wasn't gonna be me. In hind sight I probably should have stayed behind. I am managing to have a good time in spite of DH and his "moods". Another story!

Just More reasons I am looking forward to the open road. Everyone try to stay cool and have a safe day. Aloha.

Good morning all!

Barb, hope your tests go well today and you aren't glowing too much.

Paulette, I am sorry you are having to give up your rig right now. Hopefully you will be back on the road before you know it. You would be more than welcome to join our family caravan. Don't know all we will be going other than the GTJG's already planned. Will be a group decision.

Today is another day of packing for me. Not exciting at all. Started yesterday scanning old photos into computer and uploading onto FB. Along with my Cloud I pay for, gives me redundancy. Have lost too many photos in the past from computer crashes. When I get through with that, going to finish uploading all my CD's into iTunes. Will then load all onto Chuck's and my iPods. Again redundancy. This eliminates a lot of weight for the MH too. Not much in the mood for anything today. Been up since just after 4, so may take a nap after breakfast. Pretty down in the dumps today. Will work on my attitude today. I am normally a laughing happy person. Going to get back there again!

Everyone have a wonderful day. If you are traveling, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I will be thinking of you this morning, Zee, as you glow once again! So sory you spent some time on a neat post only to have it zip into never neverland. I always highlight and copy mine now before I ever hit the submit button, just in case. The frusration of losing it all can feel like a needle in a balloon.

Paulette, I was so hoping to be able to meet up with you soon, but perhaps after your daughter becomes the educated adult you know she can become, you will be able to take to the roads again. I sure do hope you don't leave our group, RV, or not, as many on here are still looking, resting, contemplating, or whatever, and we love to hear from anyone who loves to camp and travel.

It's already up to 75 here this morning, and we may get sporadic showers as the day progresses. The weather says another very humid hot front is passing through the country, and that by Sunday we should be getting more possibly violent thunderstorms ahead of a cold front. Our temps are not to exceed the mid-80s, so our heat will be significantly less than in many other places.

Richard arrived yesterday with JJ (Jocko Junior, his little dog) and we went over the mountain to the free concert at Wilmington Beach last night. I got in touch with so many old friends over there who are now looking so elderly! Everybody but moi, but of course! I was told there is to be 40th reunion celebration of the Fantasy Farm this month! Fantasy Farm was the experimental hippy commune where the main building was a modified school bus, and the individual dwellings were various tents and shelters. At the time, I had my own tent in another neck of the woods, but I shared the many get togethers and revelry with the commune! Sigh---those were the days of hope, peace, and lordy knows what drugs!

This morning I am waiting for the washing-machine repair man as my brand new washer ( a GE) does not spin the clothes dry enough for my dryer unless I put them through another spin cycle....very annoying and if he can't remedy it, I want a different washer. My old machine spun the clothes quite dry, but this one leaves them dripping wet.

Guess I need to go inside and gather up a load of towels and other things to show him what I mean....just no dainties to have to haul out of the machine sopping wet!

Hope everyone has a fun day wherever you may be, and that you can stay cool enough to breathe easily. Kath, have fun on the golf cart!

Paulette, post some pics of the rv/jeep in the for sale room when ya get a chance, and I wouldn't be surprised if you got a new to you smaller rig in the near future.
Dawn, sorry about the issues on the will, hope things work out for you.
Gonna make this short as I have a few other things to do real quick before I go.
Ya'll have a great day

Good morning everyone! Barb Zee, I missed that post to spew my coffee everywhere?! Pleae NO SONGS TODAY!!! Give me my head back! I'll be seeing you ...... Barbie should get home today. So glad you made your decision and hope you get to Fla this winter. But now we have no story to follow! I swear we should be a reality show. Paulette, I'm like you. I've been thinking more and more about how I don't like traveling and sightseeing alone. I don't really know how I want to use the rv but will keep it for strictly financial reasons, until the balance goes down on it. I really wish I could enjoy it like most of you do. Everyone have a safe and a FUN day. love you all. Wendy

Good morning all!

Barbzee, it's been so nice having you open the morning coffee this week....like old times and I've enjoyed. Sorry this one disappeared. Hope your test results are all good.

Soos, good luck on the washer fix. I'm looking forward to hearing about the Ruckus this year...will miss being there in your beautiful neck of the woods.

Dawn, I hope you find your way out of the dumps today. Sometimes revisiting old photos and memories makes me sad. Hopefully once you are all moved and planning your adventures in your rv, the blues will blow away.

Paulette, I am equally content traveling alone or with someone. I found that out by doing it. We are not all the same, however (Thank Goodness!), and at least you have tried it both ways and come to your own conclusion. I'm with the others, please don't give up the forum and the friends you have made here. The day may yet come when you will want to seek the open road again or attend some gigs.hope you will join us at gigs whenever you are near anyway. You are doing an awesome thing, taking on the responsibility of raising your gd....I know I would not be up to the task. God bless you for that.

Kathleen, hope the pain keeps at bay so you can really enjoy your visit there.

To all that follow this morning, wishing you a happy day! It rained here in Eagle River last night, but the sun is peeking through this morning. Going to be a good day here.

Paulette, sorry you feel you have to give up your RV but I understand. As kids get older they usually have so many activities and they would rather hang out with their friends than you. I feel the same way about sight seeing, it's not much fun alone. I would have sure followed you up the trace if I didn't have my own soap opera going on and grandson to entertain. That's why our GTG's are so much fun. There are like minded people that you can do thing with or just hang out and visit. And, of course, eat.

Red, I'm usually about ready to throw up my hands and stay home when I have to fly somewhere. It has only been in the last few years that I actually made my self get my own tickets. I use to make my friend do it for me. When my son had to fly his son back to New Jersey he had nothing but problems. He had booked a round trip ticket and a one way for his son. Who ever he talked to was suppose to attach the one way to his because his son is 10 and can't fly alone. It wasn't done and when we got to the air port his son's ticket had been cancelled. We get to the air port way early because they are famous for over booking flights here. The agent couldn't straighten the mess out, my son had to stay on his phone an hour trying to get it fixed. It turned out we had plenty of time because the plane broke down and they were an hour late leaving. That made them miss the connection in Atlanta. I would probably still be in Atlanta.

I hate to see what the power company does to some of the old oak trees around here. Our line comes across the field so they leave our trees alone. There are a bunch of trees on our road that need to come down but the land owners don't live on this road so they don't care that they might fall on the road. We live on a dead end road and it's not unusual for a storm to blow a tree down across our road. One of the reasons we evacuate for the hurricanes. If we don't get out we might not be able to.

I feel like there was something I was suppose to do today but can't remember what it is. Hate when that happens. They named the tropical storm and it looks like it will become a hurricane. Guess I better get back to cleaning the carport.

Barb, I have had mine fly off into cyberspace but sometimes I can get them back clicking back arrow. Maybe after today's test it will all come back to you.
Paulette, you are doing what so many are these days, putting your life on hold for your granddaughter. These years will pass rapidly, you will be ever so proud of this young lady, and she will adore you all of your days. You will stay young with her and then we will help you find another 'just right for you RV' and join up with us at GTG's plus there will always be plenty of us to caravan with.
Red, I hate to fly..it's not that I'm afraid..it's the feeling of being a sardine..My daughter in Seattle flys to see me 4 times per year and up until the last couple of years I have flown to see her every other year. I do hope to make it to Seattle very soon RV style but she is going to meet me in various places throughout the country. She goes to exotic places on dive trips and hasn't explored her country that much so now she says she is ready to do this.
Soos, the poor spin cycle doesn't sound right. I'm confident when he tries to tell you this is normal you won't accept his assessment..
Ava, I'm so glad you got completely over your health issue and now fit as a fiddle to deal with the little rug rats.
I am now in the spare bedroom after finishing my sorting in LR and office (the hard one). The rest should go rather quickly. Both garages are still to be sorted but I still feel like I'm half way there and it feels good. I finally admitted to myself I can't keep up with my yard and do all this in the house. I have a young man ( highly recommended) coming to do my yard work and maybe a few other things. He details vehicles too so after I am through hauling in my truck I will put him on it.
Enjoy your day wherever you are...

Thanks everyone. It's just what needs to be done for now.

Linda, it's a 2007 Tiffin Allegro Bay front engine diesel class a. 35' long, two slides. Tow vehicle is 2008 jeep wrangler soft top, 4wd, 6 speed manual transmission.

I'm thinking I'd like to get $85k for just the rig and $97 for both. Both have low miles on them and have been maintained. Pm me if you would like more details.
