Good Saturday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Saturday Morning

Postby Liz » Sat May 16, 2009 6:30 am

Hey where is everybody? It's 6:30 already...Central time. Bandit, Maggie, and Roe haven't heard about Central time yet. They were all playing at 5:15. We've got the coffee made and cranberry juice is out. No breakfast yet.

We'll be in this area of IA all day today and probably spend the night at friend's house near Des Moines. Hope everyone has a great day once you're up.

I'm up, I'm up! heading for the coffee ... thanks Liz for getting it started.

Lots to do here today,... gotta make a dump run, do housework, laundry, finish getting the camper ready to roll thursday afternoon. And hopefully get time to watch a movie. I've got three netflix crying out to me from the entertainment center.

So I'll grab a mug of coffee,... and head to the kitchen to run the dishwasher and then tackle getting the bags of garbage into my Escape to take to dump.

Have a great weekend everyone!

GOOD MORNING ALL!!!

Snoozing I was, along with Molly out in the trailer. Spent a good night out there, and it's not too cold, even this morning---45 degrees again. Anything above freezing feels warm to me these days! I am so hoping my little lilacs are still growing, however----they seem to have arrested in the sub-freezing mornings. There have been years when they have all been literally nipped in the bud, and I am praying this is not one of those years. Same thing with the blueberry buds...sure hope they survive for many days of great picking and eating later on!

I'm back in the house now to check on Twitch, get a bit of heat in here, and then go pick up my truck I had to leave at the shop last night. This time that emergency brake had better release if I need to use it!

I, too, will need to get my trailer ready to haul out of here on Thursday afternoon after school, to spend 5 nights at the local KOA----sorry, Beth! I LOVE the KOA in Wilmington near Whiteface! It's always neat, clean, lots of good local people go there for Memorial Day Weekend and have great campfire sing-alongs. They have great hiking trails branching off all over from there, and it's great biking as it's relatively flat for a good many miles of roads. Free WiFi, and all the other amenities you pay for make it really nice, rain, or shine. They put on a pig roast dinner with DJ dancing afterwards, so it gets me out of the house for the first time since last summer! (Except for the long and tedious drive to FL, that is.) I am SO looking forward to this!

I got the grass mowed here yesterday, saving the areas with wild srawberry blossoms, and wild violets. I actually like to eat wild strawberries raw, whereas I will only eat blueberries cooked in scrumptitious, fattening desserts!

Thanks for the coffee, Liz!!

Happy Saturday/weekend to you all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Liz, my son lives sw of des moines. I'll be going out that way in July. We'll be staying at Lake Anita State Park. Sounds like ya'll are having a good trip so far. The animals probably won't adjust their internal clocks...time means nothing to them like it does to us! The just know "eat, sleep, potty"!

ZZZZ, I slept in this am-because I can :D. Soos, went to camp in the summers on Lake Saranac and use to hike up Mt. Whiteface - are we talking the same place? We use to go into Lake Placid to a place that sold enormous bannana splits and you'd get a tag if you could finish-Hmmm, have to ask my sister with the great memory if she knows the name. Really hot and humid here in LA and DH isn't sure he wants to stay here or head where it's cooler, even if there is rain. Hey, we're Floridians. I think he's turning into a woosy  carold

good morning ladies
I'm not quite awake yet, eyes are still blurry and I seem to be a little trembly this
morning, don't know what thats about but I've got the coffee pot goin. Saturday
will start out as routine, I'll get my bills paid and then do the grocery shopping.
Will put in a couple job applications, one at Lowes and one at the grocery store.
Both those places do them online so I can just sit here and do them. I really don't have
much job experience, being a wife and mother for 20 years and a bus driver for 20
years, really haven't been out there doing a whole lot more. But I think I could stock
shelves with no problem. Driving is really my thing so I have a few ideas in that
dept too. I did the Casino bus one summer so I'm going to go check into that too.
Learning something new has me terrified.
Course I could solve this whole problem just by winning the powerball
Now, back to serious stuff, I have to pick up some CLR today and clean the toilet
really good. Hard water deposits seem to be causing me a little problem on the
toilet seal. If its shot, its needs replaced, thats about $100, checked into it but
having nothing to loose by buying a bottle of CLR and trying a good cleaning first.
The toilet is not holding water over the stretch of a whole day while I'm at work.
Will let ya all know how that turns out.
Coffee is ready and I'll have some toast then its off to the grocery store.
Have a great day and everyone be safe.

Good morning Sisters,
Dan is on the Wii...he really is strict on himself, as soon as he wakes up he makes a pot of coffee and starts his exercises! Going to have to go shopping for some shorts and jeans for him though he has lost so much weight and has no butt again! His goal is to get back down to his college weight and dang I think he is going to do it!! He's looking good!! Now me.....Bah Humbug! I'm not on the Wii 2 hrs a day so I have not dropped the weight as fast but I have dropped 9 lbs so I am losing at least.

Heading out to breakfast this morning with family and have some fun together
Have a great weekend!

Another wet Good Morning to all.
Yes, it is still raining in north AL. There is hope however as forecasters say we will have a few days to dry out early next week.

The chipmunks have been back and finally finished off my attempt at growing a pot of herbs. I wouldn't care all that much if they needed the sprouts for food; they didn't eat them, just dug up and scattered all over the porch.

There goes the thunder again. Better get off 'puter. Weather Channel scrolling warnings for flash flooding throughout the day. UGH!

Morning all...well I have my cup of Jo. DS 12 is making crepes for breakfast. He learned how to make them in his homeschool cooking class he has on Fridays.
Granted he had to make an adjustment, as we do not own the fancy swiss crepe pan. I am sure they will turn out great. I will have to cheat on my diet and have one.

Well it cloudy out, but they say it is suppose to clear off and becoming a wonderful sunny day. DS 12 has a baseball game at 11:00 and then we have a adaptive bicycle expo that I want to take DD 10 who is special needs. She has a special needs Trike, I would like to see if there is a bike that would work for her, not that we could afford it right now, as her Trike was given to us by a gift foundation and it was over $200.00 Attach special needs to something and the price sky rocket, I do understand why...as they are not as mass produced.

Then after that it dropping DD 15 off at the Ball Room Dance Studio. They have two Pro Shows today at 2pm and 8pm. She is on the youth dance team and they are also in the show.

Then it is home for a bit and then off for football sign ups for the fall and then church this evening.

Morning all. I slept in so late this morning cause I've stayed up late the last 2 nights and really because Peaches let me. Danger here is I don't want to be sleeping in when it's a road trip day - so will have to try to go to bed tonight at a decent time.

Changed my rv insurance over to a new company yesterday - went remarkably well, except the old company is charging me 10% of the remainder on the policy to cancel. That's still cheaper than going with them for the rest of the year at the new rates they wanted for SD. Can't figure that out, as they quoted lower than anyone else in 'bama, and higher than my other quotes in SD. Strange. Still would recommend them - they were very good to me.

Oh, Soos, there are good KOA's - unfortunately I've discovered so many bad ones that it's put a bad taste in my mouth. Having managed motels that were franchises, I expect them to have standards to maintain - not just to take the franchisees money and let the places not meet minimum standards. Those that do - are because they have caring and good owners. Like the one you go to and the one Karen is workamping at in NM - so, I apologize now to them and the other good ones for my badmouthing them all. Not fair, but is what happens when you're part of a franchise that isn't all equal.

Okies, going to relax today with my friends and take care of things I can while just sitting. Have a great day all. And any of you newbies who have been approved but haven't posted. If you're reading this - time to do an introduction and join the fun. The more, the merrier here!

Ava, perhaps your blood sugar was a bit low, or it's a response to your body that's been without nicotine. Glad you are fine now.
