Sept. 1 Rabbits Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sept. 1 Rabbits Friday

Postby Irmi » Fri Sep 01, 2023 5:09 am

Good morning!

It's the first day of another month and I remembered to say Rabbits. I put a post it note on my monitor to remind me. It's 78 right now with 98% humidity and we'll top off in the high 80's to low 90's. The freezer in our motorhome quit working yesterday and we have someone from Whirlpool coming today to see what happened. We have two coolers full of meat, wondering what we can salvage.

Have a happy Friday!

Good Morning Irmi, you are up esrly this morning as am I. Dogs have their meds, I’ve had my breakfast and supplements, and will be heading to the shower eventually. Going to take a run up to town to Home Depot. Need some reciprocating saw blades, new parts for my weed whipper and a 4x4 sheet of plywood for the next woodcraft project.

It’s 48° and clear here this morning. Supposed to be around 79 today. Looking at 80 degrees weather for the next week it seems.Good time to monkey with the October kids outfits. Gets too warm to do anything outside for the most part. Got everything kind of under control at the moment. Like my neighborsz, been getting things done before winter. Need to call the mobile tech and get my snowblower serviced, so it’s ready to go. Get ahead of everybody who waits till last minute and goes into panic at first sight of a snowflake. Mowed my vacationing neighbors yard yesterday and finished my vinyl storm window for one window.

Glad everybody in FL are okay and no damage to their houses. I know from FB pictures, that there’s a lot of damage where Liz, Nan and Birdie are. Judy, sounds like you are accomplishing quite a bit, searching for past generations. Karen, hope the smoke dissipates for you. Lots of fires out there. Beth, glad you got the AC fixed. Irmi, sorry about the fridge, hope I’m an easy fix.

So that’s all from here at the moment. Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning, it is early here, was up at 5:15 and still on my first cup of coffee. Of course I forgot to say Rabbits before talking to the dog. I gave her the Bravecto chewy but she was having no part of it, so picked it up and will mix it with some of her food. She eats her heartworm chewy no problem I used to give her Nexgard every month but now I only have to give her one of these chewys every 3 months. My vet recommended it but said they were both pretty much the same, these are just easier she said. So I went with Bravecto.

60° out with a high today of 77. Great weather as far as I am concerned. We might even get a bit more rain, now that would be great. Rained most of yesterday morning into the mid afternoon. Smelled so good out there. My neighbors went camping and asked me if I would feed the cats. Of course I will They were the couple that cleaned my gutters and weeded my yard when I was so sick so I am happy to be able to do something for them. They will be home Sunday. I am also going to check on my neighbor next door on Sunday as his wife is in Minnesota, and his daughter is staying there but works on Sunday so I will just check on him make sure he is okay.

Today is a housekeeping day, garbage day, laundry. I have enough food cooked I need to eat up in the fridge so only need to add a veggie for a side. Henry will do his job and I will then dust ....again. Not sure how I get so dusty but it is what it is. I live on a cul-sac so not alot of traffic. Probably has something to do with the smoke right now. Irmi sorry to hear about your freezer but hopefully it is a quick fix. Guess Steve will be busy cooking today to salvage what you can. Good thing is you can cook it and freeze it when all is fixed.

Will get busy after work, just catching up on all the news on the internet this morning.

As an update, the Whirlpool mechanic was here. The compressor won't start and needs a new relay which is in stock in their warehouse. He'll be back Tuesday to install it. But this morning, I opened the refrigerator door to get something and it had quit, too. But it could have been worse, as in having to buy a new refrigerator/freezer that fits in the cubby it lives in. Lots of trim had to come off to get the fridge out and it will be replaced once the relay has been installed. Our mobile RV guy who lives in our resort is doing the trim work. Life is good! I'm glad I remembered to say Rabbits!

I'm pretty sure I talked to Sugar before I remembered Rabbits. It was nice this morning. It was in the 70's but headed to 99 again. I was hoping it was going to start cooling off but no such luck.

Irmi, hope you don't lose your food. I'm still working on getting the freezer down in case the next hurricane in the gulf heads my way. I still have about 10 containers of gumbo and soup to eat. I just don' feel like eating soup when the temperatures are over 100.

I wrap Sugar's pills in soft dog food and they usually go down. If that doesn't work I use thin sliced turkey lunch meat. I just have to watch my fingers if I use turkey. lol

I have been wanting to get a reciprocating saw but keep forgetting when I go to Lowe's.

Irmi good news that your fridge can be fixed instead of a new one. Martha your dog probably eats right away. Mine has to smell it for a while, lick it, then decide if she should eat it. I will just cut it up and put it in a scrambled egg. That usually works. Henry finished vacuuming, had breakfast, showered, cleaned out some of the freezer as it is garbage day so thought this would be a good time to do that. Going to cook a pound of bacon in the oven this morning as I need to be eating my tomatoes often and a BLT works for me. Then later will turn on the self clean option while it is still cool in the house. Shirl, so good to hear your weather and humidity have improved. We have an inversion here form the low hovering over us so the smoke wont be going anywhere soon it is trapped in the valley....sigh Just saw we have Hotshots fire crew from Wyoming arrived...YAY

Happy September!

Good to see so many posts already!

I said 'rabbits' at midnight and then paid my rent. :) They changed the number to pay it without warning, but I figured it out. Goodness! Just saw man spraying for insects so impressed they got on that! One of the first things I heard this morning was footsteps upstairs! With vinyl flooring except in bedrooms, I wondered how bad it would be. I'll get used to it I'm sure. No idea when they moved things in, but I saw a woman leave. Just had a text from sister-in-law that brother is eating more. I sent a text a couple nights ago and got a bit of a cantankerous reply. :) If I was no longer nauseous, I'd feel better but he wasn't and was starving.

Shirl, glad your weather is more tolerable. We are cooler for the most part but 90s tomorrow. Irmi, glad the freezer can be fixed! Karen, I find I can ignore dust much too easily. :) Probably be even easier now that I dug out some needlework projects that need finishing. :) Sheila and Sue, I'll never finish projects as quickly as you do! :)

Good news bad news kinda day. Lyn I am so sorry on the loss of your son. Cancer can be so cruel. He is out of pain now tho and for that we can be grateful. Anita glad to hear your brother has a bit more of an appetite, that is good news. Hope he continues to do well. Our weather suits me cloudy and 70 with maybe more rain. We shall see. There were no rabbits in my world today. :(

Aww, Lyn, I'm so sorry for your loss. Anita, I'm glad your brother's appetite is back. And Karen read your post a couple back. I laughed out loud that Henry is having breakfast, showering, cleaning out the freezer, etc. I read it a few times, laughing each time. Irmi, I hope you're able to save a lot.

Work was busy today and I'm sure will be tomorrow and Sunday also. I'll be on 2nd shift Monday so everyone will have left before I come in and probably not many new ones will come. Tuesday will most likely be more of the same. Then a couple days off. Same schedule for my next week, but it won't be the busy holiday weekend and probably much easier. We shall see. Today sure went fast and that's good.

I did say rabbits when I got up, but there's a good chance I said something to Ty when I got up to potty during the night.
