Rabbits Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rabbits Wednesday

Postby JudyJB » Wed Jun 01, 2022 2:40 am

Obviously, I forgot to say “rabbits” this morning because I fell flat on my face walking from hotel to train station. Bruised knee but nothing broken. On train to York and hard to write so more later.

First class on train includes breakfast or dinner and drinks. Riding through some pretty countryside. Will take cab to Entertain in York and get my rental car.

Judy, so sorry for the mishap. Your heading threw me, it’s Wednesday here. Will keep a check on you so say hello even if you don’t blog. Another hot humid day here. Juliet plant is loving it, me not so much. Have grocery pickup so will make it a quick trip. Yes, I ordered stuffed tater tots which I will ration, maybe. Have coffee to drink and articles to read. Be safe

Ouch Judy, glad it was just a bruise. Enjoy your trip to York. I gotta catch up on your

After breaking a record high of 89° Along with sticky dewpoints, it is a beautiful cool morning thanks to a cold front that finally came through. Highs will be in the 60’s for the foreseeable future and possible patchy frost at night. Bit below normal, but nobody’s complaint except maybe the beach bums. Great working outside and dog walking weather. Shirlmaybe this weather will eventually make it to you.

Have an appt. With dentist todsy to have him check and see if I lost my crown or it’s something else caused by that hard piece of what ever it was I bit down in. I did read that there are ligaments in your gums and they can be bruised or sprained by something like that too. I have those symptoms too. So we shall see what he says. I probably will not be getting into much today because my appointment is at 12:30 and that sort of messes up the day. We are being sprayed for spongy moths today, formally called Gypsy Moths. They are caterpillars that hatch from egg masses in the spring and go up the trees and defoliate the trees. They can cause mass defoliation of the forest canopy. Later they turn into Moths which mate and lay egg masses and start the cycle all over again. They go in cycles and then they are gone for a few years and they come back. Last year we had the peak here. The caterpillar droppings get all over everything and it is a very slimy mess. You can actually slip on that stuff if you are walking. So between the two Lake Property owners associations here and the county, an aerial spraying will be done. And my mosquito control guy is also going to be here next week spraying for mosquitoes. Makes life much easier with all these insects taken care of. Neither are beneficial to the natural or human world. The moths are an invasive species and the mosquitoes carry Lyme Disease among other things.

Beth, remember the pictures you saw that RV place where all the trailers were piled on top of each other. That is all cleaned up already. They only had about a quarter of them left when I passed by there yesterday so they really did a clean out job because they were still there on Sunday. That dealership lost over $3 million in inventory.

Mornin' ladies~~~

I forgot Rabbits again. Nothing unusual there. I'm lucky if i remember once a year. Made it near Plattskill NY yesterday. A quick drive from the Poconos, but i still hung out at a rest stop for a bit because this KOA charges $20 an hour of you arrive more than 2 hours early. Check out time from the last CG to this CG left me with a gap in time and I'm not about to pay to arrive an hour or so early. :x

Laundry was on my mind which was probably another reason to forget Rabbits. At least that's the excuse I'm using. Not a while lot currently planned for around here except for staying as far away from NYC as possible.

That's my Itty bitty for today. Hope all are well and enjoying whatever makes you happy.

Thanks to Barbie, I remembered rabbits last night. Hope it helps this month. Still haven't heard anything about my motorhome. My next reservation is in two weeks. It's East of Baton Rouge and I think I'm going to try going up to Hwy 190 and not take I-10. That will take longer but not if I get stuck on I-10 like my last two trips.

Cheryl, we are starting to see an early check-in charge at some campgrounds here. They are trying everything to make more money. I refuse to pay extra to have a certain site. The clubs I belong to won't use those campground for rallies if we have to pay extra to be together. One campground has a 3:00 check-in and they will not let you in before that.

Sue, the parish sprays for mosquitoes here, thank goodness. I think the members of the cutting horse club we belonged to years ago helped to get it started. We went to a cutting in Cameron Parish and they already had spraying. It was amazing to be able to ride after dark with no mosquitoes. Cameron Parish has more marsh than we do.

I have a meetup meal tonight. I'm trying to decide what time I can leave. I hate to go to Lafayette and only be able to do one thing and have to hurry home because of Sugar. If it's cool I can leave her in the back yard but today it will probably be too hot.

Good Morning All, I am excited to see Barbie and Catherine today. I have several places within walking distance to take them for lunch. I will let them choose.
I have been ordering chairs etc for the patio. A very large package came today. I am going to let Barbie and Catherine help me open it!
My grandson now has the oldest and youngest of all the greats.
I did remember “rabbits “.
Maybe I will finally learn how to get a picture to Beth!!!

Knee is ok but really getting stiff and more sore as day goes on. Had a good train ride and picked up car ok, but crazy time driving through York as gps in car was nutty. It kept insisting I take narrow roads full of pedestrians and ones that were blocked off. For example it would tell me to turn left but that road had big cement things to keep cars out. And they had obviously been that way for years. I’d go last them and gps would insist I turn around and go back to original blocked roads. Kept driving in circles. Many of the roads in busy center of towns are two-way but only one lane wide. Will update blog with photos later.

Judy, sorry about your fall! I'd check the settings for avoidances on the GPS.

Things I forgot to mention - Sandi, the painting of your granddaughter is priceless! All the flowers and plants are beautiful! Karen, I've been meaning to let you know season 15 of Heartland is now available.

I should have complained sooner - we have warmer temperatures! By this time last year we had been complaining of heat! I'm taking the car to get all the road trip dirt off today. Rabbits was mentioned on FB yesterday morning so I immediately set my 11:59 alarm for last night. :)

Think I'll go get this over with. Nearest car wash is 17 miles away. Ordered some photo prints so will stop at Walmart for a couple things.

Been outside and the planting continues. I didnt get out until 10 and it was already hot so I was working at slow speed. I have 2 more tubs to change out the dirt, dang they are heavy even after shoveling out most of it. I have 4 tomato plants and one acorn squash planted. Will rototill the garden area and plant the other 3 tomato plants and the zucchini squash then I am done with that project. Still have to redesign and hook up my water drip system. I did find my timers so will change the batteries and hook them up. I have one for the front and one for the back. I think I have to buy more drip line, so might order that today or tomorrow.

Anita ha hs hs I am now on season 6 sheesh. I am waiting for Virgin River season 3 I really like that series. It returns on July 20th on Netflix. I dont have Netflix any more but will sign up for a month just so I can watch it.

Lyn have fun today with Catherine and Barbie. Hope your knee heals quickly Judy. Hope your dentist appointment goes well Sue.

I remembered RABBITS today. Cannot hardly believe it. I was a bit confused and had to look at my phone to see if it really was Monday LOL I do get lost in the week unless I have appts scheduled.

Sorry for the Monday error, ladies. I posted on the train and obviously was not thinking straight. Knee is stiff and sore, so I am going to bed now. Did update my blog about the adventures with my rental car today.

Another hot day here but supposed to storm tonight and be in the 70's tomorrow. I of course forgot Rabbits but then I usually do.
Anita I hate to tell you but season 3 of Virgin River was not very good. After the first two season were so great I was disappointed. It's been on Netflix for quite awhile. I doubt if there will be another season.
Judy sorry about your fall and I hope you get your GPS working better.
Lyn I hope you Barbie and Catherine have a fun GTG.

Good evening ladies. Happy June 1st. I did remember Rabbits today.
I am now back in Alberta for the Summer. I left Florida on April 12th and arrived in Calgery on May 18th
It was a long trip this time as I wiggled my way across the continent in order to acquire the last states to complete camping in all except Hawaii.
My son took very good care of the house while I was away. It is a joy to be back with family and longtime friends. The granddaughters are growing like weeds. Hard to believe they are 9 and soon to be 8. My how time flies.
Planning on being in AZ this winter with a quick flight to Florida in February for a special occasion.
I am also getting back into gardening here. Mostly flowerpots but some landscaping too.
Not much else going on here. I am going to make a concerted effort to post more often this Summer.
Take care all and keep healthy.

When I got back from Lafayette tonight my air conditioner wasn't working. I have 2 fans, one blowing on me and one on Sugar. It would sure be nice if tonight was one of the nights it was going to get down to 60 but it's 77 outside. I have two fans in the motorhome that didn't get unloaded. There might be one in the old house but I don't feel like going digging in there to see. It would sure be nice to have the motorhome here with a working a/c. At least today is Thursday so hopefully I can get someone to come tomorrow.

I had never heard of stuffed tater tots. I'll have to look for some.

OK, we went from Monday to Wednesday and now to Thursday, according to Martha! Now I am really confused! :?

this KOA charges $20 an hour of you arrive more than 2 hours early.

Seriously?? That is crazy! What is the point of that? Never heard of getting penalized for being early. Yet they don't do anything about those who reserve spots and never show up.

I had a very comfortable bed last night, no bugs and slept very well! I checked my Visa account this morning and the other motel refunded me 50% from the original charge for the room with bed bugs. That was decent. I changed my mind this morning and decided to go home today after all. Just didn't want to spend the extra money for another night.

Catherine picked me up at 11am and we met up with Lyn at her place. We hung out there for awhile talking and helped her put her new patio furniture together. Then we walked to a local Mexican restaurant for lunch. Was another beautiful day in paradise! We left a little after 3 so we could each head home before hitting too much traffic. Well, I hit traffic anyways on the freeway up to Carlsbad, stop and go. Then more heavy traffic heading over the the inland I-15 freeway. I figured I could just sail right up to my turn to head over the mountains, but no. There was a roll-over accident just before my turn-off and traffic was at a standstill or creeping for almost an hour! :o Finally got to my exit and then it was a good drive the rest of the way home. Just made one stop for gas and potty. :D

"June Gloom" is what they refer to the clouds that roll in off the ocean along the coast and hang around all day every day thru June. Well, that showed up right on time on June 1st! It was actually sunny this morning but just as I was leaving San Diego, the clouds rolled in and it was really "gloomy" all along the coast until I headed inland where the sun came out again. Was glad I was able to enjoy the sun the past couple days.

I got Lyn a little surprise gift but will let her tell you about it. ^..^

Now I am in my own bed and will sleep in tomorrow. The trips are fun but it is always nice to be back home. Lola is glad I am home too!

Judy, am sorry to hear about your fall! Ice the knee and get a wrap or soft brace for it if you can, and take an Ibuprofin or equivalent for pain and inflammation. Hopefully, that won't slow you down much!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Yea, I have 2 days to get my air conditioner worked on. I don't know why I though it was Thursday. That's what no air conditioning does to you.
