Morning All, hot and humid still. Just stopping in to open the kitchen. Want to go to farm store and Bjs but no good days because of humidity. I try to avoid crowds and traffic so Monday through Wednesday are the options. Will take a couple shots of inhaler and venture out tomorrow. Found my first Kindle reader in the back of a drawer so charged it overnight and it still works. Have no idea how old it is or how to navigate this ancient device. It will keep me occupied for a few days. I downloaded a library book but can’t find a way to increase text size. I’m sure YouTube knows how. Be safe

Good morning! At least what’s left of it here in this time zone! Not much happening here other then it’s heating up as is the humidity. I think some possible rain in the forecast for the next few days. I can’t believe how the grass has slowed down growing but pretty normal for this time of the summer. I’ll probably need to mow by the end of the week if we happen to get some of the possible rain showers. Time will tell! I had a quiet weekend but get out yesterday for a quick visit with oldest son and one of the grandkids! Now that they are all teens or older they are usually off doing their own activities so I take what I can get! Only a few more weeks before schools start again! This summer has gone so quickly. Fair is happening this year but I’ve pretty much decided to not attend. Figure with COVID numbers increasing again I don’t want to be around that many people even if it’s outside. People come to tent and camp for the whole time and families come together from all over and no way of knowing what the exposure might be. So maybe it would be a good time to see if I can get into one of the parks for a few days and enjoy a few days of camping. We’ll see what happens! I do have plenty around here that will keep me busy if I don’t go anywhere. Rascal is a big consideration. He has his good days and some not so good with the steps with the lessening strength in his rear legs. Hope you all had a good weekend and will have a good week too. Be safe.

We lost our precious Mitzi along with a huge part of our hearts last night. It is particularly hard as she was at the vet being treated for kidney failure and had been improving. I am especially devastated as she was alone. I think she had more than one issue and I guess the vet thinks the same as he asked to have pathology work done. I agreed as it seems so strange, her bloodwork was good in March but she kept going through stages where she absolutely refused to eat. Her mouth and gums would be inflamed but would go away with medication only to return. The house and my heart feel so empty.

Oh BJ I am so sorry. It is always so devastating to lose our furbabies. My heart hurts for you.

Got outside watering and fertilizing. My tomato plants are producing slowly. I dont think I am a "container tomato gardener". I would have planted them in my small garden area, but I knew I needed my fence put in and the plants would have been in the way. So I went to large containers but so hard to judge watering. Too much, too little, etc. So next year will be in the garden. Will plant other things in the containers. They taste fine they are just smaller than I am used to and not nearly as prolific. Oh well there is always next year. I am going to try a few different varieties too. I planted all Early Girls this year but need to branch out. Am anxious to see how my potatoes turn out in their grow bags. Dont harvest them til fall when the leaves turn yellow and start to die back, so stay tuned LOL

Took a couple of N95 masks over to my previous neighbor a couple streets over. I knew he wouldnt buy any and I want him to be safe. He got his house painted and it looks really nice. Pretty much the same colors maybe a little darker tan with brown trim. He is happy.

Heading in to possible record heats again this week. UGH....feeling sad for the firefighters and any new fires that might pop up. Seems like every day we have new ones. The west is on fire for sure.

BJ, so sorry for your loss. I know there is an empty place in your heart. It so reminded me of my Tessa, who I had to send to Rainbow Bridge when her kidney failure finally became too much for further treatment. May They will meet up there, who knows. I shed a tear when I read your news.

Sad to hear about the loss of a pet. Losing them is one reason I do not have any. Maybe someday when I get a house and can take better care of a cat.

Drove 334 miles today, so am pretty tired. About halfway through, I drove through a really nasty storm--very heavy rain and wind and could hardly see anything. Was driving on the two-lane I-75 and luckily, almost everyone slowed down to about 40 MPH and also had lights on. No trucks nearby either, which was good. I turned on my flashers and kept driving because I was afraid of being hit if I had pulled over to the shoulder. Lasted only about 3-4 minutes, but glad to be out of it. Rest of drive was good, with some traffic, but kept moving. Parked now back at Sterling State Park and relaxing. Going to be here for a few days, but have a lot of errands to run, including trying to find a haircut.

BJ, so sorry you lost Mitzi.

AT&T has been threatening to send me free phones to replace the two 3G phones I have. One came today. The web site the instructions give to activate it doesn't come up. There are at least 15 ATT websites but not that one. Grrrrrr I'm going to box the whole mess up and bring it to them. I ordered a phone to replace mine but they never could tell me when it would ship so cancelled that and ordered another one. It's suppose to be in next week. I just hope I don't lose all my contacts when I change phones.
