Good morning Barbzeee!! Your cookies sound good. How about pitching me a few? I am sure you could hurl them from Florida to Arizona!! HA. The pictures have been pretty on the forum---all of them. I woke up and couldn't sleep so I am headed back to bed or a bit.

Okay, I'm going to out Bluepinecones...her name is Sarah. She and I will be meeting up again a couple of times before I leave and yes, there will be a photo! I've been so busy since I got to Huntsville I've put over 250 miles on the truck alone. My son (back from Iraq this week) wanted some English China I had and a couple of other antiques, so I've been down at the Storage unit. I take boxes home and rummage through them. So in my little rig I have boxes for David, they will go on the back seat of the truck. Boxes for me, stuff I'm going to sell on e-bay once I get to my job. And boxes to go back into storage. I've had to sleep on my couch for the last 3 nights as there is no room. But it is fun looking at all the stuff that once meant so much to me, and now - just stuff.

Good morning Zeee!

Oooh,... cookies with my coffee this a.m. yummy! Here at school the elementary grades arehaving their parties after lunch, usually cookies, etc. and then a movie in the classroom. We're heading out on winter break for a week ...whew! I'm sure some kids will stop by my room here in high school and bring me a few cookies later today. That's one of the great things.... "community" ... about a K-12 bldg.

You're right Zeee,... as soon as I can get that camper out from behnd that snowbank I'll be ready to give up basketball and head down the road on weekends. Then as soon as school is out the end of June I'll be doing as many bluegrass festivals and camping trips as i can squeeze in before September and work again.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning sistahs!

Carol (Carolinagal) is here, and her dog, Maggie. Carol's leaving to attend a wedding tomorrow, but Maggie's going to stay and play with Roe until Sunday. Barbz, if'n you'll be there and not busy with your other friend coming, we could come for a short visit Sunday afternoon. Carol would love to meet you. I'll call you.

What? We're just playing...

Back to regular Feb temperatures but we do at leasst have some wonderful sunshine. I spend time yesterday using my new little camera. Took some fine pics and also transfered the NC lake pics to the camera...then came the fun part. When I tried to load then into Photobucket. The message I got was that I needed to load Adobe Flash....when I tried to load the Flash the message I got was that mac sysytem was too old...at least I think that was what the message implied. This lap top is maybe 5 years old but, hey...? Then when I tried to send some Valentine pics to friends ...the pups had their pics taken with some Valentines, looking real cute...I couldn't get the pics to resize so that I could send out. I used to have to find them in IPhoto, send them to Photoshop, resize them, save them and then find them again when trying to e-mail with Yahoo. When I try to resize them with the built in e-mail program in IPhoto it sends them directly to the built in e-mail system that is in the mas and not the yahoo site that I use. My brain got tired of trying to figure out a loop hole that would work. I couldn't even remember what I had used last time I e-mail a picture...it had been over a year or two....I do remember having to resize it.....Old brains, must respect them and be kind....but will try to power up and rethink it all later today. Does tell me to start saving up money for when this lap top bites the dust.....The DH did notice that some of the letters have part of their print worn off..... At least the pups and I can pic up some sugar free candy and deliver in person/dog the Valentine's they printed off yesterday for their friends at the Health Care Facility....... Have a fun Friday the 13th and a good Valentine's day. And incase I don't figure out how to load it.... Your Valentine is a handsome dark red Golden Retriever looking up at the camera holding the edge of a large red paper heart in his mouth.

Goooood Moring Sistahs!!!!

Uh oh! Mr Rat is in big trouble now, that sneaky Cupid has done snucked up on him!!! Gotta love that one Barbz.

Oh blech!! I feel like excessive crap this morning. A ton of people are coughing, barfing and hacking up their lungs at work. And now I'm doing it. I feel like someone has beat my chest and back with a baseball bat and my throat feels raw from all the coughing. But not a regular sore throat. And I sure don't want or need a regular sore throat. whimper Didn't sleep for beans last nite and woke up almost 2hrs before my alarm was set to go off. With 6hrs of sleep I'm gonna be in good shape for staying awake at work. :x

Weather is beautiful here. Sun is shining it's little heart out and only a few wispy clouds in the sky. All kinds of birdies in my yard and around in the trees this morning. They are all singing like crazy this morning.

We will be working tomorrow morning I think. And tho we actually have Monday off because it's a bank holiday? We don't get paid for it as ACT does not recognize it as a official 'ACT' holiday. So at this time we are planning on going in to work Monday in our old departments of collections. YUCK

Just a shorty this morn as Kelly and I are going in a little early today again. Trying to get a few extra hours in. We both have our fingers crossed that we will be put back on day shift next week.

No goodies for me this morning as I also have a very queasy belly. But I will pour me a cup of coffee to take with me.

Hope everyone has a great day and please do stay safe.

Love to all

Oh yeah, Echo, you got it from me over the ether! Its horrible! I've got four different cold sores, cracked and bleeding on my lips and the inside of one nostril is one big scab...don't I sound attractive? I'm still coughing, and how long has that been? Its a viscous lung thing...that was why I was convinced I was getting pneumonia. It is getting better, there is hope, Echo.

Oh, Friday the 13th and Sparkle is too busy to go get into trouble with me today. Hurry up and finish those chores and get to feeling better.

Liz..........Love the doggy photos. Lucky yours will share his space willingly. Nicky is not that generous.

Birdbybird.... Looking forward to that Valentine. Glad to know someone else on forum has a Mac (love mine). Took more than a couple of attempts, but got my older Mac to work with Photobucket and to post. Give it another try.

Echo & Sparkle.... That nasty lung thing does not go away as easy as you might think. Took me nearly 6 weeks to shake it so take care of yourself.

My coffee pot is empty now so that means I must try to get it in gear if I'm to accomplish anything with what is left of the day.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY to all!

Good Morning all...well didn't have to go to work today and actually am off until Tuesday next week. Being reaaaaaaal lazy this a.m. It's 9:28, 67 degrees inside and 50 degrees outside. Rains a comin according to the weather station, so I belive our desire to head to the desert for a little fun is kaboshed as the storms are going to be hitting all weekend with snow down to the 4500' level over the weekend. Just oooky gloomy and all I feel like doing is sitting here in my flannel pjs wrapped in a blankie and give a howdy do to you all to jump start my day.

Zee that cookie recipe sounds yummy - care to share? I need to get to the grocery store today and get some food in the house. Maybe even cook DH a tasty meal. That way he'll just hafta take me to dinner tomorrow ;) Yup, there is method to my madness...

Fernie, I like your style ... head back to bed....it was sooooooo comfy cozy, and I don't get to sleep in very often...BUT alas I'll keep my butt outta bed. Truly need to get a pot of coffe on though. Like Mervyn's Open Open Open...my eyes...

Cedar have fun with the school fun celebration of Valentines day. I always loved getting the Valentine cards for my children to hand out to their classmates. They'd always come home at the end of the day all excited with their little cards and candy treasures.

Liz, those were such cute pics. Love the caption ---What? classic! Enjoy your visit with Carol.

BirdbyBird, sure hope you manage to get that handsome picture of that handsome retriever with the Valentine heart. I'm not savvy with Macs so sorry can't lend you any pooter advice there.

Echo, glad you have a pretty day evolving with happy sun and wispy clouds. Hope you get over the creepy crud fast. I've managed to escape it so far, but it keeps trying to sneak ahold every now and then with upset stomach pains and just plain ol feeling like crud. Hopy you have a better day today.

Sparkle sorry to hear about your feeling icky - Have you thought of trying Abreva for your cold sores? I get them when I get really sick or stressed out (or eat turnip/mustard greens due to the acidity I guess-bummer as I love em with vinegar and butter - YUM!), Anyway a firend told me about it and lemme tell ya...it may be a tad expensive, but just a lil dab will do ya and the sores and tendersness go away really really fast. Interesting you are in Hunstville as my DH and I are so wanting to get rid of everything, pack up and move to Alabama. Current events/family issues/CA government as a whole and work...well we're probably dreaming that running away from here would be a good solution, but the more and more we research MS/KY/TN/AL area the more we want to head to AL. We've been looking online for lakefront homes, preferably near Huntsville area as I could likely get a DOD GOV job at the Missile Defense Agency in Huntsville (have a friend that works there). Been trying to read all I can about Alabama and try to determine that if we did chose to run away from home (CA), that we would be able to survive in Alabama. Any insight? Looks like property taxes are very reasonable, and I'm assuming it manages to escape the majority of tornados from nearby tornado alley or is that hurricane? Never could get the differences straight. In any event, I certainly hope you get to feeling better soon. Any advice about AL pros/cons would be greatly appreciated. Not something we can do this second, but looking more and more like something we may pursue within the next couple years God willing and the creek don't rise. ;)

You all have a good day today, and cupid filled day tomorrow.

Good late afternoon, everyone! I got up late, did everything late, worked on my website for the GTG I will have here in August, ate breakfast at about 1:00 pm, and now I'm out the door for an icy walk with Molly. I guess the ice palace may have survived our 48+ hours of above-freezing temps, and the parade should go off as planned tomorrow. If my daughter ever calls and will be going, I may join her.....otherwise, I may miss the entire carnival stuff this year. It's just no fun alone for me. My favorite years were as a mother when the kids were living here. Prior to that, I was free and young, and that was fun, too. But now.....free and old....BAH! Leaves a lot to be desired for me.

But I am certainly enjoying my time off from school, anyway!

Hope you all have a good rest of the day and maybe I'll get up in the morning tomorrow!

Trying to catch up on posts - geez, what happens when I don't have time to read everything - but just skim here and there for several days. My gosh we are all chatty people!

Glad to see Bluepinecones outed. I knew your name was Sarah, but I wasn't going to be the one to out you :)

Liz, I love those pictures. How they enjoyed meeting up again. They'll really like traveling together this summer.

Zeee, hope you like that egg boiler as much as me. Just pulled mine out a bit ago - going to use it to make some egg salad today.

OK, I'm working backwards, posted on the 14ths thread, now the 13ths - will read the others, but if post, will probably come back to recent!

Donna,
I also have a good friend in the Huntsville area - and if you have any questions that I can get answered for you - let me know - he'll be happy to help. I wintered there for 3 winters - too cold for me LOL - but I'll probably do it again one winter. Would prefer, if wintering in AL to do it further south, tho.

Sparkle,
I explained that - needed to comment on things said on this thread :) You have a problem with that, eh do you? (said in Clint Eastwood's tone of voice).

Yes, I do have a problem with that! Said in my normal tone of voice!!! Friday is Friday, and Saturday is Saturday and never the twain shall meet. It rips holes in the Ozone and leads to Climate Change.
