Warming up Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Warming up Friday

Postby Colliemom » Fri Feb 19, 2016 8:09 am

Good Morning,

cloudy with rain on the way later here. Bit of freezing drizzle and snow moved through during the night. No big deal, might slick a few roads for awhile. Piper is doing her daily hauling out of junk around here and right now the two are having a little play session. Her incision is healing nicely, pretty much a little pink scar now. Two more days and she's off restrictions :D Molly's meds arrived yesterday, so have started that regime.

JudyJB, love the way you clean your freezer. When no room to get things in, eat bagels  Anita, that SS trip sounds like a dream come true. You are going to have so much fun. Looks like summer plans are starting to fall into place a bit as spring nears and we get antsy to go. I'm thinking on the May IL GTG as well as getting spring cleaning and house spruce up going. If something pops up this spring, might decide to list. CArol, going to be glad when you resurface on FB, miss our chats. Hoping you might be getting your spring/ summer plans sort of into jello mold now.

But for the immediate time, am working on scrapbook today to finish up trip stuff. Want to get pics of last fall's IN GTG made so can finish the book and put the stuff away. So may need a run to town either today or tomorrow.

Looks like Hardee Lakes GTG is going strong yet. Sarah, so glad you bought that hat, it looks so lovely on you. Cheryl, Eileen and DH are off to RV show, how fun. Looks like good times ahead. Velda, how's Mel doing?

Well, am off to see about erasing a CD and reloading the IN pics on it. So you all have a great weekend out there.

Mornin' Sue and all that follow ~~~

Yes! Spring like temps today, but windy. I'll take it. Supposed to be in the 40s for the coming week.

Off to the RV show in a couple hours to meet up with Eileen & her DH. Was going to meet a friend at the show tomorrow also, but her Dad's 90-something and was rushed to the hospital yesterday. May not be good news because here sister & bro-in-law are driving in from AZ.

Anita your SS trip sounds like so much fun. Not much else on the agenda for the weekend except the usual chores & errands. Have a good day ladies & stay safe on the roads.

Good morning! Sue, they said we might have some freezing drizzle this morning but looks like it missed us! We had a cold sunny day yesterday and it melted lots of the ice on my driveway! Today isn't going to be warm or sunny so probably won't melt anymore. But tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and in the 50's so maybe I can get rid of the rest of the ice! It was just to heavy to push around the other day so I took the easy way out and left it! I could still get the car out so figured I was good! Next week looks like some more snow coming in and it sounds like it may be deep enough to pull out the snowblower! Grumble, grumble!!

Anita, your SS trip sounds so exciting! What fun adventures you'll have! Judy, I love how you clean your freezer! And Ava, sounds like big things happening in your life! Cheryl, there's a smallish RV show next week in Altoona so may try to get to it. Not interested in the rv's as much as seeing what campgrounds and gadgets are there. Depends on the weather! And it's an afternoon out! I'm starting to get cabin fever! And HL is still going strong!

I've been laughing at Piper, Sue. My youngest dog loves to empty the toy box! I had to buy another one and he just can't tip it over even though he tries! So he takes toys out one at a time and then naps surronded by the toys!

Well, not much else happening here. Hope everyone has a good day and travel safe.

Good Morning!

That gang of 'misfits' that went riding with us the other day backed out on a great, easier ride the next day. The first ride was too long, beat them up, scratched their machines, etc! Martha, I have yet to be on a ride where someone got themselves in trouble, but it has happened. A few have rolled their machines. We went around a corner once that worried me, but that's been it.

Wore my new FitBit yesterday and it counted all the bouncing in the RZR as steps! Will wear it in a different spot today!

Love those pricey window coverings - saw them in Liz's rig. Sue, the pups will be glad when restrictions are over! Love thinking of Piper pulling all her toys out. At the GTG in Q last year we explored a few new RVs - wow! Sharon, wishing sunshine for you to get that ice gone!

We were home by 2 yesterday so I still got a few things done. I have such a mess in here that I 'promised' I would stay home today - until the text came that the ride today will only be 4 hours and in a different area where we might see wildlife! So, yep, I'm going. By the time the weekend is over, I think the storage unit will be all packed up so that will help.

Make the best of this day that you have been given and safe travels!

Good morning Everybody from Whitewater Draw. I had breakfast with the Sandhill Cranes this morning. They are my favorite bird and it was such a thrill to camp near them and hearing their murmurings throughout the night and to watch them lift off this morning.
Yesterday I met Beth in Benson and we had a nice time catching up at the Horseshoe Cafe.
I'm starting my eastward migration back to CT. Hope to meet up with Martha and Cptjones in LA when I get there. Going to spend a week or so TX at Big Bend and other parks along the way.
Birdie, where are you?
Enjoy today.

WIND ack!! It has been so windy all night and is supposed to last until this evening. We have one very large pine tree down and another ready to fall over. Thankfully it missed the house but the ground shook when it hit. DH was awake and it came closer to where he was sleeping. Between that an two dogs throwing up it has not been a good experience! I think Mitzi and Toby must have found something disgusting in the yard as Andy is fine so far. Mitzi wants to eat but is refusing the rice and chicken offered, she does keep begging for a treat so I'm not so worried about her.
Tomorrow night is the preview reception for DH's art work. I know he is very nervous as he is not one for crowds and attention. The brochure for the show is amazing, the photographer and the printer did a great job. He has been working for two years for this and wanted to have all new pieces for the show but they wanted to include some of his older work. Here are a couple of pieces in the show. He did not build the cabinet, just painted the door panels.

Good morning gals! :D
Been raining heavily all morning here! Good thing it isn't snow! We'd be buried in it! It will be 50 today and clearing up, but high winds come in behind the rain.

Anita, sounds like a fun trip coming up for you!
BJ, your husband's artwork is fabulous!
Ava, does Bill have an interest in camping and traveling around the country?

Off to work shortly. Was a long, very busy day yesterday! Sore feet, arms, neck and shoulders. Really not sure how much longer I can do this work full time. I think I may only have a few more years in me with this job. I need to look into something else.

Have a great day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning (it is still morning at home so that should count)
The winter camp host at this county park is also a mobile RV tech. Had him stop by this morning to check house batteries for me….I was pretty sure at least one of them was near dead. He confirmed it. New house batteries were not in my trip plan but guess will replace both even tho one is still working properly. Want the maintenance free version now anyway.
Nan left yesterday and Sandy joined us so the Hardee Lakes gtg is still going with changing participants. Only one photo from last night added to gtg thread.

Well that was a first ! I lost hold of the iPad momentarily and as my hand slipped I poofed a post, gone in an instant. Phooey.
Anyhow, good morning all. I love reading your posts both everyday stuff at home and GTGs. It all is interesting. And I hope to join a GTG one day.
Mel is ok but his wrist hurts a lot where they took the graft and the MRI to explore that is a week away yet. His speech is worse which is frustrating. We did not realize there might be ongoing radiation changes for years after  His hearing is worse and he has my ears ringing from the tv, which he says is NOT too loud. The VA hearing test some months back showed he was on the borderline but it seems worse. He said no hearing aids as its one more thing to fiddle with. I hope to talk to the social worker about how to deal with this stuff as its new territory. I tried slipping in foam ear plugs to protect me but when he found out I was he got upset. Somehow I will deal with it. He has his first scan to make sure cancer is gone same day as the MRI.
Have a good day all.

We are having another nice day but it's a little windy. It's already 75. Yesterday wasn't quite as warm but I was in short pants anyway. lol

Yesterday for lunch I went and met 2 of the Louisiana Belle ladies, the lady I met at the state park and a friend of hers that is staying at Betty's RV Park. We went to one of the better know pizza places in Lafayette that I had never been to. I had crawfish lasagna which was good but pretty cheesy. I went to happy hour at Betty's when I got back to town and was there for 3 1/2 hours. Good thing I was drinking tea and not wine or I might have had to stay the night.

BJ, I like your husband's art. Wish I was close enough to go to the show. Glad the tree missed your house. The last storm that came through here twisted a big branch out of the big oak tree in front of our old house. It was a live branch and I could see that it was twisted and not just broken off.

Peggy, hope Carolyn and I can meet you when you come through.

I'm surprised that the blinds haven't broken in my motorhome yet and they are 14 years old. One of the large ones won't stay up so I hook it over the window knob. I need to take the front curtain down and replace the broken slide things again. Those little plastic things are pretty flimsy and I need to see if there is anything else that would work.

I should make a toy box for the cats. About the only things they play with are Frosty's mice and the two things we call Annie's babies. Frosty puts his mice under the door where the central unit is or throws them in a toilet. Sometimes I find them in the water bowl or food bowl. I don't know how Annie keeps up with her things. She will carry one around howling and come drop it by my chair. Then she will find the other one and bring it too. I guess I'm suppose to baby sit. Most of the time they are under foot in the living room.

Harold is out mowing the grass. My son put a new battery in for him. That mower was in the shop at least 4 times last year and I can't believe they didn't change the battery. The battery was 5 years old and one of the complaints was the mower was not starting.

Velda, I have the same problem with the TV volume. I watch TV in my office and if we are watching the same program I just mute my TV. He has hearing aids but won't wear them. Says they just make things louder, not clearer. I need to make him an appointment to see if they can be adjusted. I'm the one that has to change the batteries.

Afternoon and a windy one at that. Very, very warm today at 94*. With the wind, it feels cooler. Some clouds, but a typical winter warm day. Last year was freaking miserable with wet cold weather. This year absolutely marvy.

Martha, you are right with your kitties so they need to remind you which one you like best! Hope you get some nice warm days, twisted limbs are scary! Aaahhh the hearing aids...coulda bought a new rig! I need to find a fix for my front curtain that the plastic things have broken. Got to be a way to use regular curtain hangers. If you make it over in April, let's talk about it.

Peggy, I am right now down in the Lower Rio Grand Valley. Expect to head out around the first of March. Plan on going over toward Corpus Christi/Port Aransas/Rockport. That is all on the coast hug side and then straight on the gulf. Will be there until the end of March when I will go up to San Antonio. Big Bend will be great. However drought this winter means late bloom on flowers. You may miss them. Bloom is about 2-3 weeks late here in the Valley. Will you be going through San Antonio?

Have fun on the road and stay safe.
