What!!!! It's 1:19 p.m. here in Northern Michigan. Kath, are you and I the only ones who bothered to get out of bed today?

Well, it may be afternoon, but I am going to post anyway. Actually it's still morning on the left coast yet anyway

Didn't have time to offer breakfast this morning, so I'm glad Kathleen did. I ate my scrambled eggs (Just the way you like them Nan) with bacon and some OJ, brushed my teeth, cleaned up a P accident from Tessa (actually 2) caused by the meds shes one right now, threw her harness on and got ready to head for the vet and my chiropractor appts. They were back to back and I had plenty of time between too, considering they were scheduled a half hour apart. My chiropractor takes me in early a lot of times anyway and doesn't take long to do her thing. 10 minutes maybe. Both of us got a clean bill of health today. Tessa just needs to finish her meds and she should be okay. Got some extra just in case she starts coughing again later. Scheduled her for a dental cleaning for early March. Took Sassy along too as she was bugging to go and I think it makes Tessa a bit calmer. He checked Sassy's ear for me as she has been having an ear wax issue. Just a little bit in there, so I will take care of that later on here.

Made my appt. for my income taxes on Friday, so will get them done and out of the way. Am going to sit down in just a bit here and make sure I have everything together and do some adding up of medical bills etc.

I was talking with a lady in my gym class yesterday who was wearing at Whitehorse, Yukon shirt and found out that she is a member of RVing Women. Has a pickup camper and goes all over. More discussion to follow with this lady, I can tell you that. Told her about this group too. That is one idea I have been tossing around for after I retire. Getting a pickup camper to travel in. By the way, I have an interested party for my TT, but am waiting to see if it's serious. I gave her a price yesterday via email and she asked where I waas located. Haven't heard back as yet today. there was a lady who inquired last fall who wasn't able to get up here to look at it and I"m not too sure she isn't the same one. Name kind of rings a bell.

So, guess I shall go work on taxes. See you all later.

Good afternoon everyone!

It's mid afternoon here on the east coast, but thought I would chime in as well.

Kathleen, I hope you & Mollie have a good time out this afternoon. I know there were several stops you wanted to make.

Sue, there is a couple here in Wandering Oaks that stay in a truck camper and use their pickup as their toad. They are probably in their mid 70's or so and seem to be having as great a time with that as the other people are having in their 40 foot fifth wheels. It's all in what you need to be happy.

It's a dreary day here in Ocala and a little on the coolish side. We had a storm last night and as Kathleen said, we lost our power. But with our batteries, we had lights and other than not being able to watch TV, never really noticed much of a difference. Since I use my aircard to get online, I was still able to use my computer. Life is good.

I might also be a puddle jumper today, as rain is in the forecast for later on here.

I slept over 12 hours last night!!! Not sure why I was so tired. Had lots of strange dreams as well. Slept til noon today. Now I have to get ready for work soon.

My roommates 18 year old daughter has had a "boyfriend" up near San Francisco for several years now and she has been "waiting" for him until they can get back together and get married. They haven't seen each other in over a year and only occasionally e-mail or talk on the phone. She found out several months ago that he has a girlfriend up there and said she would let him sow his wild oats and then he would come back to her...she finally figured out last night that it's not gonna happen. She is usually a very bright and insightful young woman, but she was a bit naive on this situation, to say the least. (young love is so very blind!). I felt bad for her last night as she was crying with her mom. Hopefully, now she can get thru this and move on to someone who is actually in her life. She is too young to not be dating other guys her own age (that guy was in his mid 20's). She is so sweet and deserves someone better.

I found out last night that the GM wants me at the new shop they are opening in a couple weeks near where I live. I like the little shop I am at now but it really isn't busy enough for me and I am not making much money there. So the new shop may be a better fit for me. I just want to be at one shop full time instead of moving back and forth all the time. Just gets too confusing for everyone!

I always wondered about truck campers and how difficult it was to remove the camper from the truck. Can you actually be inside the camper when not on the truck? How stable is that?

Hope you all have a good day!

Barbie, I don't know about the difficulty of getting the truck camper off and on the truck, but I know people do it all the time. It's much the same as getting a fifth wheel lined up on the hitch. As far as stability goes, truck campers have legs that stabilize them and they are just as sturdy as any other camper you will see in a campground. Unfortunately, not all campgrounds allow truck campers. Don't ask me why, but you have to check with each campground you go to. But the nice thing about truck campers is that they can go places that a lot of travel trailers, fifth wheels and motorhomes can't get. They can go in the woods, off on a beaten path somewhere and set up and have all the comforts of home. Maybe Anita will chime in, as she has a beautilful truck camper with a slide.

Uh, some of the more unlucky of us have been up and at work for hours!!

Wish I could sleep in--looking forward to that last day of work.

JMO on truck campers. There are lots out there and a certain few love them. When I have been driving behind one, they always seemed top heavy. I saw how the wind and even turning some corners seem to get the truck rocking. That would scare me.

GOOD LATE AFTERNOON TO ALL!

I got involved with the free version of turbo Tax, which did my federal return and my NY State return for free! My taxes are all filed, e-submitted, and all I have to do is wait for my refund deposti to show up in my checking account. It turned out I don't owe NY State anything this year. WONDERFUL!

Then I trimmed the hedges/roses/hybiscus in the little garden at the front of my house--got stuck dozens of times by rose thorns galore! I hope everything will grow back, as I was rather ruthless!

Next the dogs and I went for a walk to Shingle Creek----they are doing so well on the double leash with their harnesses.

Lastly, I just got finished vacuuming the entire house and screen porch. I do wish I had a nice cold beer, but I'll have to settle for a lime seltzer on ice.

Irmi and Kathleen----I may have to drive up to visit you all and take a look at that truck camper if it will be there for a while? If there are any spots for camping, I may even haul my trailer and spend a few days at your campground. At the same time, I could get my Senior Pass for Federal Parks at Ocala, if they have any. Something to think about, probably after my last doc appointment on the 21st.

Time to rest my body and my brain now, and maybe think about some supper. Oh no----forgot----have to go to Publix and pick up a new prescription for Advair inhaler to try instead of the disc I use now. He told me I should still be on generic bone-builder, too, (like Fosamax) as the ads about people breaking hip bones is due to the fact that the bone-building stuff tends to make any injuries you might get less painful, and therefore people take risks and break their bones. Anyway, Advair breaks down bones, so I need something to build them back up! (Let's see-----do I want to be able to breathe, or not break bones? Hmmmmm.....it's always a dilemma when it comes to drugs!) Sigh!

Hope you all had a good day!
