Snowy Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snowy Saturday

Good Morning everyone,

Finally rolled out of bed around here. Geez, feels like noon. Well, it's 8:56 a.m. What am I doing in bed this late :o I gotta get a schedule going around here  Course part of it was due to doggie wake up calls in the middle of the night. Got to go potty. And Tessa has been having issues with choking and coughing, can't really tell which, so that woke me up a couple of times, as she's been sleeping with me these last couple of nights. Vet appt. coming up for next week. She's debarked and sometimes that can lead to problems, who knows. Usually she's sleeping in her own bed, but these past couple of nights, she has wanted up with me. Guess she needs her "snuggle fix". :)

Nothing much on the agenda around here. Just the weekly house cleaning. Won't take long. If I ever get to it. Got a busy week coming up, so will take care of that today. The work on scrapbook this afternoon and maybe take the dogs for a walk in the snow. Supposed to have around 2-4 inches. This has been a very crazy winter. Never know what the weather is going to be from one day to the next. We have had all 4 seasons so far this month.

I've been out pricing trucks as I would like to replace my big engine one with the next size down. It's still capable of towing my TT. When I got this one, gas prices were down below $3. But now, well we won't go there. Plus MI legislature is supposed to take up a bill that will change the way the state funds road repairs etc., Will involve making some changes to the gas tax. No matter which way we look at it, it looks like an increase in the amount we will pay at the pumps over and above the price of the gas. We have a 19 cent a gallon gas tax right now, but that might be scraped for a tax on the wholesale price, which might mean we pay an additional 9 cents a gallon. And then they also are talking of adding a fee to our license plate renvewals every year. Maybe as much a $67. Needless to say, people aren't happy. Going to cost too much to drive in this state pretty soon. And the State Parks Recreation Passport is also tied to license plate renewals, an extra $10 per vehicle if people want to buy it. Could put that in jeopardy. A lot of people up here work for minumum wage and are drivng older vehicles cause that's all they can afford, and they are going to wind up paying more out of pocket costs. And then there's food and.... Some are barely making ends me as is. Time to get off my soap box.

Sounds like Soos, Molly and Dinah are going to be a great threesome. Will be hard for Soos to keep Dinah down for a week expecially with Melissa's parents visiting with their guide dog who will be out playing with Molly in the yard. Have fun Soos.

All seems to be well in Camper Land. New rigs are being purchased, ideas for personalizing them are beginning to pop up. Plans being laid for the summer and all eyes are on AK. And I know there are a bunch of us wishing we were going. Well, maybe down the line we willl make our own AK GTG. The TX GTG isn't that far off anymore either. Kath, Irmi and Steve are enjoying FL. etc.

Well, I've got to get this body in gear around here. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Morning Sue and all to follow.

Is a beautiful sunny but windy day here in South Central Texas. Not a good day to be driving a high profile rig. Wind should go down later today. Temps are not going to be that good at about 58. Tormorrow is to be sunny and in the high 60's. We hope to be on the road so we can hopefully get our kayaks in the water. Travel to Choke Canyon SP. It is about 100 miles down the highway. We should get down there in time to checkout the best place to launch if the lake is friendly. May even get in!!!
Monday, Tuesday, and Wed the temps down there just keep rising to 80. Rain forecast Thursday then sunny the rest of the week. We will have to see what we can workout for the most water time.

Today will be an at home day. Have Pinto beans cooking in the crock pot. Will make some cornbread. Then it is more of finding where 'stuff' is and going through and putting it where I will not remember what I did with it. Still looking for the house antenna for the XM radio. I put it somewhere that I could find it easily....but not this month.

If you are on the road, please be careful. If you are stopped have fun.

Good morning Sue, Birdie & everyone!

Sue, as usual, you always have something to occupy your time. Don't forget to take some time to relax.

Birdie, have fun putting things in their place in your new motorhome and have fun on your trip.

It was a chilly 39 degrees in Ocala this morning but will warm up in to mid 70's. It's already much warmer than it was when we got up. Yesterday, Kathleen, Steve & I had dinner together. Image

Dinner was raspberry chicken that Kathleen made, baked potatoes & green bean casserole.

This afternoon, the campground is putting on a steak dinner with potato and salad which the three of us will be attending.

Morning all, Kathleen looks like you're feeling well. That is good. If that is the same chicken cranberry dish liz made at my house last spring, it is delicious! And real plates too, Im impressed! Got the house picked up and am deciding what to do with this day. Cool but not cold and sunny, a ride somewhere is in store. Everyone enjoy t your day. Wendy

Good Morning... it will be a beautiful day here topping out in the 60s not bad after the cool start... I woke up at 5:30 and heard the furnace roaring so I knew (and anyone else that knows me) it was time for me to go back to sleep... when I got up I turned on the fire place and watched the glow and felt the heat... it is now warm enough to have the door open...
I like Irmies plastic on her door... will ask how it is done one of these days...
Oh dinner was so good last night: raspberry chicken, garlic potatoes, green bean casserole and apple crisp ( Steve did not get any at the GTG so now he has a taste!)... the best part of the dinner was being with friends... so nice... Wendy it was sort of like the chicken Nan made at the GTG...
I did do some cleaning this morning and tried to get the spots out of the carpet... used a tiny bit of dawn and water with a brush to scrub them with... I hope this works...
Steve and Irmi put up my fire fly solar string of lights the other day... they are so so so pretty... when the sun goes down they glow and change colors for maybe 6 hours then the next day the sun charges them up... I may stop at camping world on the way home and get another string of them that would fill out the rest of the awning...
Well not much to do now but wait for the steak, baked potato and salad dinner... that will be nice...
Take care and Birdie let us know how you like the New Motor home...
Drive carefully everyone...
