Wintery Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wintery Wednesday

Good Morning ladies,

How's everybody this morning? All we all bright eyed and bushy tailed? I've been up since 5:15 a.m. here. Woke up and just decided to get up. Already had my breakfast, dogs are outside, watched some of the news, keeping an eye out to see if the county bus system is still running as it affects gym class. So far they are. A number of schools closed again today.

Area got another dump of snow again and more is coming tomorrow. Winter is making up for lost time. I've got about 5 inches or so in my drive, and will be there when I get back from gym class. No time to bother with it before I leave. Actually these snowfalls are about normal for here and usually don't disrupt things like they have this year so far. But these storms are coming through with wet snow which is making the roads hard packed and rough, and also winds that are causing blowing and drifiting. So they are disrupting the normal flow of things. And becasue they are also issuing very cold air behind them, it's hard for the roads to thaw out cause salt doesn't work below freezing, so all the counties can do for the most part is sand. Actually that's pretty well the norm up here anyway. Sand mixed with just a little salt.

I have an appt. for Tessa to go to the groomers this morning, so we will have to leave a bit early in order for me to get her out there and then myself to the gym. Have been debating about cancelling it, but if I stick to the main roads, we will be okay. By the time I go pick her up later this afternoon, things will have improved more.

So guess my day today is going to be very busy. Tessa to groomer, me to gym, then maybe to bank and on home to blow snow, then back out to pick up Tessa. Poor Sassy will just have to contend with her own company today. Won't be working on my scrapbok today I don't think, no time. It's coming along slow but sure, but I don't want to finish it too quick. Good project to do on these winter days. I had to go to Hobby Lobby and get some more insert pages in order to finish up. Last years trips will be the last ones for this book. Kinda fun to go back through and look at past trips. Makes one want to get going again. Like having a blog, only its in a book instead.

So, what's everybody doing today? Whatever you get into, enjoy the day. Those who are traveling, have fun and be safe.

It is a beautiful sunny morning here in Las Cruces. Not a cloud in the sky...first time since I have been here....not a breath of air...another first. Looks like it will be a "normal winter's day" here in the SW. I have a lazy day planned as my doctor's appt today is late in the afternoon. Then tomorrow I am off for home. Man, I'll be glad to hit the road and get back to my bed. Looks like a lot of weather around the country. Bet them Southern Cal gals are saying, sunny and warm, while the FL gals are saying ah, yes the rain we need and then there is the white stuff Sue is smiling at out her windows.

Doing 'standard' coffee here at my friends house. She doesn't do 'flavors', ACK, some folks you can't teach....but she is one whale of a cook!!! She fixed me home made chicken soup with pasta last night and then made it liquid. It was really great. We are having her special cabbage dish tonight.

Hope that the GTG gals in FL are traveling safely home. Sarah, I hope you start getting the "I want this one" every time you sit in a rig. If you find one online here in Texas, like Liz did, just know we can put you up while you get it and give you some first hand training :P . There are so many of us around here, we'd just have to have an impromptu GTG to celebrate. I am really thrilled that you have decided to start sitting in them to see which one fits your "hiney". (e.g. You are gonna start test driving.) Someone was going to the Tampa RV show....how cool is that. The new models are beautiful. Dealers are making deals on the 2011 and 2010's that never sold. Now is a good time to go looking.

Okay, you gals driving on the road be safe, you that are stopped have fun...sounds like Kath has her day planned, as does Sue. Enjoy the day.

Birdie, I have to laugh about Las Cruces....the first time I every heard of that town (city?) was way back when I was a senior in high school. I met the most tall handsome soldier (said he was a sharpshooter, but probably a sniper) while on vacation in Florida and we wrote constantly and planned to meet again when he got back home. He told me he owned a horse ranch and I dreamed of marrying him, but alas, it turned out to be a cow and a few chickens. What does a girl from New York know? Eventually we lost touch but sometimes, like today, I wonder what he is doing - now that he is an old man and I am an old lady. Right now I would settle for a cow and a few chickens.

GOOD EVENING TO ALL!

Orlando ot a teensy little shower today----not enough to make much of a difference, I don't think, but better than nothing.

Great news I got at about 5:00 when I called the Osceola Animal Control place-----the lost dog does NOT have heartworms, so she avoided the execution chamber today. She made the first cut, they saw how friendly she is and how good with other animals, and so now she is up for adoption. They will keep her until January 25th----one week from today. If she isn't adopted by someone as sweet as she is by then, I will take her on the 24th, actually, so she won't be on death row for even an hour. I am so hoping someone worthy of her will want her, and that they will have the patience to train her properly. If not, she will become mine.

I shopped at WalMart for groceries, paid bills al morning, did loads of laundry, and will head back to St. Cloud tomorrow as I forgot my meds back in the trailer. Luckily I have a two-day emergency supply with me in my purse at all times!

Sorry those of you on the roads are encountering wet driving----that's no fun at all. Wendy hasn't had very good luck with places to stay on her way home----her hot tub park had the hot tub out of order, the KOA was a muck pit, and I hope Tallahassee is better tonight for you!

Kathy seems to be all settled in, and Alice is working on it! I, too, hate packing and unpacking all alone. I invariably pack the wrong stuff, and forget other things.

I miss all the people from the GTG, too----hope we will meet again sooner rather than later.

Your post made me laugh, Carol! So many times I thought I had found my "special" man, and later discovered it was all in my head! Like the man I married in Seattle after I trained out there for my Spring vacation, who was to buy a salmon-fishing boat for us to become salmon fisherpersons. After I got back home to finish up school and resign my job, I discovered within two weeks he was manic/depressive, schizophrenic, and a heavy drug addict! (His sister was my landlady back at home----she said she "thought I knew about Alan!" Oooops! Thank heavens for annulments!

Time for supper----later.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
