DEPRESSING THURSDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

DEPRESSING THURSDAY

Postby Nasoosie » Thu Aug 18, 2011 6:50 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL.

I am seriously depressed this morning to learn that a person who was due to show up on Sunday for my GTG, is having generator trouble, and that he needs it to keep his batteries charged while he's here for the Ruckus. I haven't heard anything from several others I was looking forward to seeing. I am wondering if I should bother to even go shopping today. As far as I know, Anita is still on her way, I sincerely hope, and Richard is still here. I can't remember if I've heard from anyone else, or not. At one point, Carolyn was coming. The sun is supposed to come out later on, and I sure hope it does. I guess I will stay right here instead of going home with Mandy as it sounds as if I won't need WalMart stuff. I'll go to Price Chopper tomorrow instead, right in Lake Placid.

No matter what the weather does, I have a huge shelter set up so we can stay dry, and the party barn is wired and ready to party. I have ladder ball, croquet, horse shoes, and tons of board games. I will have a batch of recipe made and a pot roast meal for Sunday which will keep in the refrigerator until another day, if no one shows up on that day. I have tons of good music for dancing around campfires, and some good firewod.

Is there anyone around this area who is close enough to come, from either group? Anyone???
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

I wish I was close enough, I would sure attend your GTG. Some of your cooler weather would feel good. It was 105 here yesterday.

I have been up since 5, don't know what's up with that. I wasn't feeling good yesterday and this morning my nose is running. Hope I'm not coming down with something. No plans for today other than staying in the air conditioning.

Soos, I will be crossing fingers that generators can be fixed in time and others find the roads to your place clear and smooth. Several of us sitting around the campfires have had conversations about planning gtg's (similar to your planning your Ruckus :) ) and what if no one came :?, or liked the dates you chose, or liked your location. Regardless of the real reasons, we all knew that we would somehow personalize it. :? Such pressure. The great fear of being a Hostess or a leader and realizing that there is no one behind you  Hope that whoever shows up that you have a quality time. You managed the weather part and that is usually the hardest.

Good morning ladies!

Soos, I'm sorry things aren't looking brighter for you this morning but have a feeling you're still going to have a wonderful GTG. I wish I could come but since I'm still working, it's just not possible this year.

The skies were overcast this morning with temperatures in the low 70's and we had a mild shower. Now the sun is starting to come out and other than a possible shower this afternoon, it looks like it'll be a nice day.

Have a good day everyone!

..

If it was possible, I'd be there in a heartbeat, for two main reasons - to meet Soos and get to know her, and to taste RECIPE!
You're going to have a fine Ruckus 2011! All of us will be there in spirit!

Vickie and I were concerned when we planned our AR GTG at Petit Jean last year...we weren't sure if anyone would show up because we both knew that no one really likes Vickie. But it turned out just fine - everyone came to see if such a nasty, mean person could really exist in the flesh. She does.

I'll be there in spirit too Soos, I too would love to come and meet you but think I'll pass on sampling the Recipe in favor of the blueberries! Hoping you'll soon be surprised with a big crowd of friends.

Batteries will charge from shore power - there's no reason why they shouldn't charge from a friend's generator. 8cD

Just have them run an extension cord over to your rig, and fire up the Onan. Might want to not both run AC and/or microwave at same time.

8cD Friend of mine, looking for a job in her field for over a year, just got a nice job! Yay!

Yes, they will - but he's got a big Class A with much more to charge. Might be able to do that, might not, depending on what all he's running. And depending on the size of Soos' generator.
