Sunny Tuesday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Tuesday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Tue Aug 09, 2011 7:30 am

Good Morning everyone,

Just toast and a bowl of berries on the breakfast menu this morning. I do have eggs and sausage here though if anybody is interested. No cereal as I am out of milk at the moment. Not a coffee drinker here but have some in the house along with tea and hot cocoa.

A beautiful sunny morning here at the 45th. Supposed to have rain moving in later on today as a cold front is coming through and dropping our temps. Will only be in the upper 60's tomoorw and then into the low to mid 70's from there. No complaint on that. I call it a harbinger of the season that is to come and I'm not ready for fall yet. Like some of us have said, spring came late and wet and we are still trying to get "spring" things done in summer and have had to work around the heat of the summer this year. Fortunately the heat wave broke here about three weeks ago, so that has helped greatly, but the humidity has been up and down. I don't like hot humid weather. I hope that the miserable heat breaks soon for the rest of you and that you can get some relief.

We are classified as abnormally dry here right now but have had some rain on and off this week. Gonna need more to get things back to green again. My yard being in the sun is all burned up, but places where it's in the shade are greener. I will mow this week and get things kind of leveled off before I head out on the road again Sunday.

Went to the dentist again yesterday and got the prep work done for the permanent crown. One more visit in Sept. should take cae of it. Paid them half of what I will owe them in the end, so put a dent in that bill. Will pay them off on the next visit and then will start the long process of building up the checkbook again. Bad time for checkbook this time of year as is without having those dental bills . House insurance, property taxes, truck/trailer insurance all come due in August/early September. Everybody wants my money

Heading out to town this morning for a quick shopping and then going to spend the rest of the day working on my TT :) That's always fun. Installing some new blinds and will of course have to shorten them. Will have enough blind slats to make a set of blinds  Off to recycle with them. Want to try and give the interior a cleaning too. Mostly just dusting and wash the floor. Getting ready to head out again on Sunday. Just a two nighter up to Aloha again. The following weekend I will be heading to a new park I haven't been to before. Interlochen State Park which is about 75 miles souothwest of me. The campground host I made friends with will be camping over there with her mom and sister and mom's gentleman friend for the week. So thought I would take the TT over and camp myself. Was able to get the site next to hers. So we can sit and yak and catch up, not that we haven't been emailing back and forth everyday anyway. Interlochen is home to the Interlochen Academy for the Arts, an internationally known school for studying music and the arts. Students come from all over the world to study there. During the summer it is also the National Music camp and hosts a lot of big name entertainment in concert. Diamond Rio, John Denver, Credence Clearwater Review among a lot of others have performed there. And there are always a lot of faculty and student concerts too. If you are a music buff, it's a great place to go. The state park is nearby and extremely busy during the summer as you can imagine. I will post more about it when I get back from that trip, which won't be for a couple of weeks yet.

Well, sitting here at this puter isn't getting my day going. Want to get with it. Also have an appt. this afternoon, so want to get on those blinds etc. Have a wonderful day all.

Morning everyone, no coffee here. Gonna try getting outside early this a.m. have a few things to take care of and can't do them after the day warms up. Poco and I finished mowing the grass yesterday. That dog is a hoot. He loves to ride the mower with me. I will have someone take a picture an post it.

I feel your pain with the dental fees, insurance, etc. Everyone wants something from me.

I don't know when I'll be camping again, too hot for me.

Gonna go for now. Everyone have a food day.

Good morning from a cool 70's in NH. My brother's surgery went well, and so far his pain is not too bad. He's home and in good spirits. The hard part will be keeping him from trying to do too much too soon. He's supposed to be a slug for several weeks. I'll be staying here a couple of weeks to help keep him still.

Nan left this morning to head to OH and MI to visit relatives before heading back to FL in Sept. So she will miss the upcoming gtgs. It sure has been fun traveling with her. I look forward to our trip to AK next summer.

Rain is predicted here tonight and tomorrow, so my SIL and I will catch up on laundry today....has to be hung outside to dry.

Happy day to all!

GOOD MORNING SUE, GLORIA, AND ALL!

I'd love t see a picture of Poco riding your lawnmower with you, Gloria!! And Sue, those dental bills are absolutely back-breaking. I sure do hope the work is worth it and that the tooth will last forever now!

It got into the upper 50s last night, and was 65 when I finally dragged myself out of my nice, warm bed this morning. It's now a comfy 72 out there, with the sun trying to burn off the early-morning fog stuff. I need to get myself dressed, change the filter on my pool and turn on the pump, then head to the pond to grease and launch the paddleboat. Molly and I will try it out. I will then harvest some Jewelweed to brew some ice cube sting/itch doo dads. I have been very negelctful of my leanto this summer, and, in fact, ever since I have had my luxurious camp-on-wheels up here at the house. I used to spend nearly all summer down there at the pond when the kids were small. I miss those days. Although the whitethroated song sparrows are winding down their summer, as are the robins and the meadow larks and other melodious song birds, the crickets are now becoming vocal, announcing the upcoming fall season. Summer months are much too short up here n the north country. There seems to be just the blink of an eye between the spring peepers and the fall crickets.

Richard didn't find any good sites at Buck Pond yesterday, and determined that this campsite is a much better place for a much better price! I stopped by there on my way home from town to see if my favorite spaces might be available, and, as I suspected, they are booked for the rest of the summer.

I hope you all are having a fun time wherever you may be, and that you will try some of this hazlenut coffee to launch your day's activities, along with Sue's berries and toast. Happy Tuesday in August 2011.

OH NO! I just read Liz's post about Nan leaving the area already! Dang! I was really looking forward to seeing her again soon. Sigh. Glad to hear you bro had his surgery, Liz, and that you can stay around there for a while and keep him quiet. I am looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks, however? I sure hope you and Roe and Bandit can make it.

Oh, what a delightful idea this forum is! I love it!

Sunny Tuesday morning here in San Francisco bay as well!
Got up early. I'm afraid breakfast was a minimal affair of oatmeal, but it's a glorious morning, I'm being more of a morning person than usual.
I don't have the fridge running, so I usually use UHT milk put up in those kid's 8 oz tetra packs, but I'm even out of that,
so no milk this morning.
Coffee's bad for my stomache, so I swore off it years ago, but I'm now coffeeless enough to occasionally be able to enjoy it as something different without it being something I'll crave. Realized this morning that it'd be a great thing to have. I've got some of that fake hazelnut cappucino stuff I keep around for guests who need their morning coffee, so I made some of that.

Found the powers that be at this BBS had activated my account (now they're regretting it, I bet) and posted my hello.
Hoping it doesn't rain this weekend here in the bay. I've got a conference in Oakland, getting around during it will be a nuisance. fortunately the forecast says sunny.
I'm mostly just enjoying my RV being mobile again. I've been stuck in one spot for two weeks while my transmission got repaired.

I work at my computer, I'm goofing off from that writing this post.

Finally talked my stick in the mud boyfriend into going somewhere with me, so as soon as schedules allow we're going to head up to the high sierra somewhere and do a bit of camping. Want to find a remote spot, we're taking a telescope with us and need to be away from lights.

Colliemom, I sure understand about everybody wanting my money! Just had my transmission replaced! Yikes!
Fortunately I found a young man to do the job of getting it in and out, and an honest transmission shop that rebuilt it, so it wasn't as terrible an experience as it could have been.

Well, it's a sunny day, I've got the RV all opened up, I'm sitting here in the fresh air compu-tating. Life could be worse! But I better get back to computating for work.

I put more about myself in the intro section & didn't want to repeat that here.

Nice ta meet'cha all!

Twas drizzling when Peaches and I went to go on a long walk this morning. Really enjoyed the drizzle. But we cut the walk short as it started getting heavier. A couple people tried to get us to take rides back to the site, but I said I am not going to melt. Well, told one that if I did it would be like the wicked witch and they'd be glad to be rid of me :) I didn't. Within a couple minutes of getting home, though, the sky let loose and it's been raining ever since. We do need the rain.

So, I've been goofing off instead of working on my websites (bad me). I'm about to do a blog post about the saga of my internet glasses. You might want to read it if you intend to order glasses online :) Will go do that shortly.

I've been finalizing when I'm leaving here and when arriving in KY for Amazon, funny to think that summer is going so quickly. I've also been planning another outing I'll meet up with Dee for. You'll be able to read all about that one after we do it.

Lenora, I'm so sorry you aren't able to make that gtg. You've been looking forward to it for sooooooooo long. I do find it very strange that the stitches have to be removed on a certain day. Me thinks that nurse is simply using her powers. Now, it may be that they want to talk to you about any results. But I can't imagine what difference a day would make. I might demand to speak with the doctor - just a thought. Hate that it hurts to sit! That is a definite pain in the a*& LOl - couldn't resist that.

OK, hope all have a good day where ever you are and whatever you are doing.

We're enjoying another cooler day here in Marquette, MI. Yesterday, played tennis and then went for a walk around town. It's quite a lovely town on the lake, with a beautiful harbor, restaurants and small stores. Today we played again (the court was a little wet from the rain) and then went for a bicycle ride, on one of the many bike trails here, to Presque Isle. It rained last night, the temps went down and today is overcast, which makes for a great ride. Hopefully, some of the weather will head to all the HOT areas in the US. I would say the only negative since we've been in northern MI are the big black flys  We head out tomorrow, not sure where. carold

I'm a little late with my breakfast offering. I made cupcakes with a Cinnamon Swirl cake mix I bought at Big Lots. I looked up a recipe for Cinnabon Icing on All Recipes but don't think it tastes much like Cinnabon Icing. The recipe says to mix for 12 minutes and I don't have a stand mixer. Don't think I'll make that icing again but the cake is good. I had bought some Paula Dean Beer Bread Mix too and it's good too. My smart aleck DH said I don't guess you are going back to Weight Watchers anytime soon.

We had some rain a little while ago and it cooled it off from 100 to 96. The neighbors are trying to bale hay. I can't tell if they got finished before the rain or not. My sister and I are thinking about going to the lake this weekend. It's not a lot of fun there with the water so low. Will have to see how hot it is going to be.

Still trying to get out of here....and if I'd get my azz off the computer and get stuff done I might have made it, so now I'm trying for Thursday. Finish loading today, last minute errands tomorrow, hook up the toad and leave around 5 or 6 AM to try and miss some of the heat. Will try for Tucson, but if not, Tonopah, Az. I could make it to Gila Bend for sure, but the only cg there doesn't have a pool and as hot as it is there, that's on my "have to have" list! I had a time line going, but since Karen's daughter's wedding was canceled and the BMR is already booked, I got kind of ambivalent about getting out of here. sigh. I'll get there when I get there, I guess. Just want to be in Kerrville on a w/e so Karen can take me partying in Bandera! :D

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Sharon, you wanting a pool reminded me of something my son said on our trip out West. I think we only stayed at one campground with a swimming pool after we got out of Texas. He said he would be glad when we were out of cowboy country so we could have a swimming pool. That was 20 years ago so maybe they have more pools in cowboy country now.

Well, maybe she will if I drive...since I don't drink. I can be the DD! Else wise I'll have to call on her daughter and SIL to take me out. Maybe they know some old single biker that will take a gal out dancing.
