BRRRRRR MONDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

BRRRRRR MONDAY MORNING

Postby Colliemom » Mon Jan 31, 2011 7:24 am

Good Morning to Everyone,

A cold start to Monday here at the 45th. About - 6 and a clear sky. Supposed to be a fairly decent day, highs in upper teens. Pretty normal for this time of year. Yesterday was a bit chily but a bright blue sky and plenty of sunshine.

Not a hundred percent sure just what I am going to get into today. Know I will be heading to Gaylord to do some shopping and a stop at the bank. Otherwise nothing really on the agenda. Am working on a sign for my campsite when I am out camping and will do some of that today. That is a fun project and will take awile to totally complete. I"m not a freehand artist like some folks are andI am looking for things on the computer that I can lift off and transfer into my pictures to use as templates. Pretty well have everything I want. Will just add more as I go along. And of course I will be taking pictures as I progress. Can't do a project without pictures can we...

In some ways I am in the mood for taking a drive someplace too as this is the time of the year when the 'winter blues" start to setle in up here. I've got a bad case of "hitch itis" right now too, but that will just have to wait for better weather. Will see how it goes down the line here. If weather moderates early this year (you never know), I might haul off someplace a bit south for a little trip, although I am planning on a bigger trip next year and kind of hate to dig into the travel fund for a trip for this year. First though I want to get my taxes out of the way and then that will free me up to wander if I want. And the girls are getting bored as well. Hmmm, might be time to head north into the U.P. to our favorite haunt. Never been up there in winter before. But they have twice the amount of snow we do too, so I really need to see some more snow Actually i tcan be beautiful up there though.

Anyway, coffess hot and I'm just finishing up my Adkins bar. Will have a bowl of strawberries shortly here and then will start getting myself ready to hit the road in awhile. It's only 7:30, so no big rush. But it's surprising how fast time goes when you are on here, posting and reading and......

Talk to you all later. Have a wonderful day all.

Good Morning Sue and others not quite awake yet... I woke to the sound of rain drops on the roof... they didn't last long... now have my coffee and am thinking about the day ahead... it will be 72 today from a start of 42... by afternoon it will be sunny...

Last night I went to the ice cream social here at the park they also had a birthday so there was cake also... everyone is so friendly... that makes it nice as we are all away from home... some of the people here have been coming to this RV park for years... that is a good sign when they are willing to return each year... I learned that a lot of the people ride their bikes to the grocery store across the 4 lane highway... so when I venture out that way I will go with a lot of caution... the CVC pharmacy can be accessed through the park so that is great for quick things... at least I hope it is as I will need bread and milk soon... there is a long list of activities here... most geared to us old people... bean bag baseball, bocce ball, shuffle board, bingo, crafts, pot lucks, ladies go out twice a month to eat, stretching exercises and other things... going from nothing nada to a full calendar... I will pick and choose...

A warning was given to me to LOCK my trike as the homeless in the woods near here will steal it... yikes that would be a costly loss and would make me less mobile... when I came home I did just that locked it to the awning...

There are a lot of dogs in the park but you do not hear barking at all... oh oh Shadow you better be quiet or the doggie police will get you...

I need to find my cable so I will have TV... for now with the rain I will have to clean and be contented with that...
May you walk in the sunshine and smile all day...

Good morning all, so happy that you have found a park that has activities Kathleen I know you will enjoy your stay so much more now.
I know how you feel Sue this is the time of year my feet want to wander too, especially now as they are saying we could be in for a bad patch of weather with the dreaded ice. I'm hoping it doesn't start anything until later I want to go to yoga and then to visit a friend from Washington who is visiting in the area. She is supposed to leave tomorrow from St Louis but that could be iffy at this point.
It was a beautiful sunny weekend with tons of people in town for a Polar Bear plunge and huge party all the restaurants and my favorite coffee house were really busy.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Sue you sure aren't kidding when you talk about losing track of time when wandering around in here getting caught up!

Kathleen you sure sound happier to have found a livelier flock to settle into! You might be run ragged with all the activities! ;)

Boy I think I jinxed myself talking and bragging about how great the weather was yesterday morning! Brrrrrr, by time I got done cleaning the bathrooms and taking my shower it had cooled off considerably. Sky got all cloudy and the wind kicked in and it raised the goose bumps on me! But I at least got the bathrooms cleaned and it took only about 1/2 hour to do. Got my payment done on the storage room too. Didn't get into the store room as it was to dang chilly and there's a pickup truck that's for sale sitting cross ways about 4' from the unit door. Had to call the manager as they had moved the payment box and I couldn't find the blasted thing! While on the phone I asked if they knew whose truck it was sitting in front of my door? Yep! Come to find out it's the owner of the storage lot. Jerk! Nothing much else going on here! Didn't really get much cleaning done either so that will be attended to today. Blech!!

Hope everyone has a super fantastic day and keeps themselves safe and sound!!!

Love to all

Hello Ladies

It's way past morning, but I decided to post anyway! We are having some backwards weather...we are between the rain storms to the south and that massive storm out west. And it caused our temps to go from 45 this morning down to the current 32. We aren't gonna get much from the west storm (other than the headache I have as a result of being a human barometer!!). We may get a little ice...just enough to mess up the roads--and VA drivers can't seem to figure out that you drive slower on icy roads! But we won't get enough weather for a snow day...darn it!! :o

SAY YIPPEE! The heating folks are here to fix the heat pump so that I won't continue to get $350 monthly electro bills. I am hoping this will reduce the bill by at least half...I am pretty frugal with heat, but when the heat strips are the ONLY heat source, it's really, really expensive.

I watched a DVR'd episode of Oprah...subject was being happy. She had Goldie Hawn on--that perpetually happy girl (if you can still call a 60 year old a girl!!). Are you happy? Well, if you are doing what you want, where you want, and when you want, the answer is YES. And for some of you on this forum, you must be ecstatically happy! While watching, I realized I've not been really happy since i moved here, but while I knew that before, I didn't know why. The reason: All my friends are in locations other than here in Central VA. My best, truest friends are scattered around the country...and then there are those of you here on the forum. One of the best signs of happiness is having people (friends, family, spouses, children) you care about you near/around you! I don't have any of those here. And now that I know that, I feel better...didn't get closer to my friends/family but I recognize that I will be living near family in less than a year. I can do that...cuz there's a light at the end of the tunnel...and it's NOT a train! Whoohooo! I am happier just understanding why I've been feeling blue...isn't that silly? Silly but true! :D :D Obviously, stress decreases happiness too, and they suggested taking a few minutes each day to sit in silence. Some call it meditation. My problem is that quiet is not possible--I have serious tinnitus. And the more quiet the room, the louder the tinnitus. I have to figure out how to work on this problem...I think the deep breathing that goes with the silent sitting is a really good idea...just gotta figure out how to turn off the screaming between my ears!! :twisted

So here's to finding your happy place...and five minutes of silent deep breathing...have a great rest of the day!

Funny, I'm happier now that I am 2000 miles away from my family! (they are all very negative, cynical, critical people so I needed to get away from that!)
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
