Its gonna be a nice Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Its gonna be a nice Saturday

Postby avalen » Sat Dec 11, 2010 8:28 am

Good morning ladies, its cold right now but its suppose to warm up into the 80's
this weekend. It will feel so good. Have lots planned today, some routine stuff
of course but will need to drive out to the rv storage yard and pay January's space
and grab my blow dryer while I'm out there. Don't know why I thought I wouldn't
need it and left it in the closet. All the bills are paid now and I have money to
spare for a few extra's. Have to go find a pair of black dress slacks to wear for
the second job and of course a pair of black socks too.
Want to thank all you ladies for your concern for my safety, I am fine and yes
my bedroom door has a lock on it. Mr Happy Pants is not a violent man, just
verbally abusive which is where my fear comes from. His verbal abuse is not
directed AT me as much as it is directed to the WORLD. Regardless, any mans
verbal cussing/shouting does scare me. If I really thought I could get hurt, I
wouldn't be here. He's gone most of the time anyway and soon enough I'll be
gone most of the time as well. :D
Coffee is ready and a good hearty bowl of steel cut oats for breakfast hits
the spot. Ya'll have a great day.

It is going to be a foggy morning here in Central Texas Hill Country. Also going to be above normal in temps. Sorry, ladies, for those of you in the cold areas. Will be in the 60's or 70's for the next week with no precip. Monday will be gusty winds, but other than that it should be great. Well national weather service says that Saturday, today, it will be a 'colderly morning' and so far that is 46 degrees.

Got the Bailey's coffee brewing, eating cherrios and peach yogurt. Today I am scheduled to help Santa's cookie maker, my SIL, she does bunches and bunches of different cookies for her office every year. I'll go help her and will slip a couple of loads of laundry in while there. Passed all my tests at the doctors, so I'll splurge and eat a couple of home made ginger cookies today. You guys stay warm, be safe on the road and have fun.

Ava, it's so nice to see you post first this morning. And sounds like you are doing okay. Also sounds like you are going to have a busy day. And you even have a little leftover money. Yea, things are coming around and before long, you will be able to haul out your rig and start living the way you want.

Winter Storm Watch is in effect for us right now. This one is going to be a doozy. It will start coming in later this afternoon and all through the night and into tomorrow as well. When all is said and done, we are supposed to get 12-18 inches of snow here in the northern lower part of the state, the U.P as much as 13-19 and the central part below me, 7-10. And winds are supposed to ramp up to 25 with higher gusts. This is the same storm that is heading to the east coast, as Cedar mentioned they are supposed to have snow on Sunday night. Then when the storm itself leaves, the wrap around is going to cause lake effect snows for Monday with more accumulations and into Tuesday as well. So I have the snow shovel all sharpened up

So in the light of this forecast, as soon as I finish posting, I am heading to town. Need milk (hven't we heard that before) and a few other things, ink for my computer printer so I can get my Christmas letter done and fill up the blowers gas can as it's getting low from all the blowing this past week. Usually I stop at the store and pick up some groceries etc. on my way home after church, but tomorrow I doubt I will be venturing out period.

Otherwise I am ready. Yesterday was balmy here by winter's standards. Around 32, but a mild 32. In fact we had freezing drizzlle most of the morning. I hauled out the blower and cleared up my dogs "potty grounds" and decided to do the drive and around the TT as well. Pulled snow down off my TT's toof and also along entire back edge of my house, blew snow off my deck and just generally cleaned up around here. So now it's ready for the next dump.

Went to our park staff party last night. About the smallest crowd we have had over the years. In fact, there were about 16 of us and only 6 of us are current staff, the remainder were either former staff or spouses. We have around 14 staff alone during summer give or take. But we had a great time. One of the gals who came was a former staff member who moved to AZ and is now livilng in Marquette in the U.P. and it was so nice to see her again. She's married now and so it was catch up time with her life etc. We had more than enough food and then came gift time. We put numbers in a bowl, everybody picks a number and then when the nmber is called, pick out a gift from the pile. Nw reemember, this is stuff you no longer want around your house or whatever, so it can get pretty hilarious. I got this really goofy farm scene with a bunch of cows in it. Cute, but.... My boss got my packaage with the little S'Mores thing I had thrown in there as a bonus and after we were all done with gift opening and exchanging etc. he threw a marshmellow at one of the gals who threw it back and then he took out the rest of the marshamallows and started throwing them. That resuted in a major snowball "maarshmellow" fight, the which of we haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Evrybody got into it and marshmellows were flying all over the basement. So as you can see a agreat time was had by all. When I left they were playing some games.

But it's time to get outta here. So I will wish all of you a pleasant day.

Good Morning everyone... well it is a balmy 52 this morning will be in the 60 later... I see the sun is coming out... we will have another nice day tomorrow then a blast of cold air Sunday night and the coldest day yet on Monday...
I will need to pack everything up and go get LP today... that is such a bother as the LP is just a half block away but none the less it is as if I am going 100 miles... ha ha ha...
My friend Marge came yesterday and asked me if I wanted to go to the dollar store... oh yes I did... what a treat... that dollar store was not here when I left last year I think it is maybe a mile or two from the rv park... and they have everything from soup to nuts and much more... I needed milk and bread... the bread was way to high so I got a loaf of white bread that was a better idea...
The regular office has not been open all week... not sure exactly what is going on... but I still do not have my letter so I can get my mail box key... they are suppose to be there tomorrow so will go after church and see...
Shadow and I did take a nice ride yesterday but not a long one and Marge took him for a short walk while I got ready to go to the store...
I am hoping it is warm enough today to sit and comb shadow out he is soooo full of hair and it is all over no matter what I do I carry it with me...
Ava verbal abuse is not right and is not good... do not minimize that fact... with what I know now from years of emotional abuse and as a child physical abuse you need to talk to him and tell him exactly how you feel... let him know it hurts you when he talks that way... he may not even know how much it (scares) hurts you... home should be a place we can come to and rest not be in fear or walk on egg shells... sorry if this seems harsh but please listen... enough said... glad you have a little spare change today... and another job to look forward to...
I hope everyone has a good day...

Well it's not very nice here! Snowing, 9*, -17* wind chill and 46 mph wind gusts. I need to go to the grocery store but will probably have to put some rocks in my pockets to keep me from blowing away. Radar was not happy about going out this morning. She did what we call her quick curtsy to the queen and is now back in bed hiding under the comforter hoping that I will forget that she didn't finish all her business. Today is going to be a good day to put up the tree and get some other decorations out. I need to cruise the net and find a couple more gifts too.

Have a great day everyone....and if you can find it in your heart please send some sunshine and warm weather north!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good Morning All - managed to get up to watch the sunrise this a.m. - That is Jennie (the RV) in all her glory watching the sun come up
and also this - they are always up early
Image
Hum since I started writing this it has gotten foggy out - can barely see the sun anymore.
The Driver is still sleeping - I got up cause I was having weird dreams....Nothing planned for today maybe I'll print some postcards to send for Christmas - They might get there by Valentines Day.
I managed to watch a TV show on the laptop last night and didn't use up all my "bandwidth?" Hughes.net is very fussy about that. So maybe I'll watch something else tonight too.
Everyone take care and stay warm....Our house sitter says it is -1 there - brrrrrrr.
Before I forget - i'm reading a book on my Nook - sitting outside in the sun it is very easy to see. I'm reading "Queen of the Road" the one about the couple of docs that buy a Prevost and travel for a year. It's kind of fun but..........glad I didn't pay too much for it. They paid $350 per square foot for the granite kitchen counter tops then spend the nights in Wal*Mart......But they are really getting around - mentioning places I now want to go.

Carol sounds like you are in the best spot right now. Here it is raining and cold supposed to get down to 10 with strong winds although that probably sounds good to dpf brrrr you need to climb under the comforter with Radar. I couldn't get to sleep last night and around three AM I watched Peter and the Wolf on PBS, it was fascinating. I'm thinking there is a nap for me sometime today.
I was going to by an electric mattress pad yesterday and thought I'd wait to see if they go on sale more, now I'm wishing I had bought it!
We went out to dinner with a group of friends I went to high school with and then I went to a Vespers service, good evening. Although eating out around the holidays always means a long wait there was a table of 30 whose order went in just before ours! I always try to tip extra especially during busy holiday seasons as I know how hard restaurant work is. I'm always surprised at one man in our group who seems quite nice but he always speaks in a rude tone of voice to the servers. If I were his wife he would get a kick in his shin and a 'chat' later.
Looks like the rain has stopped will push all the dogs out the door before it starts again.
Keep warm all.

Our weather is teasing us. It is already 73 this morning but a cold front is coming through and will only be 50 tomorrow. They are predicting 20's overnight Monday night. I keep putting off getting pipe insulation but better get some today. We have pipes running all over going to barns and pens so we seldom make it through without a broken pipe somewhere when it gets into the 20's.

I have been limping around for several days because one of the cats ran into me when I was walking in the house. I thought I had sprained 2 toes but the opinion of friends and family is that I have a broken toe and I should tape it to the next toe. I finally taped 2 together last night and I have to say it isn't nearly as painful to walk. How long do you have to keep a broken toe taped up?

The caller ID went out on one of our house phones and I bought one of the piece of crap $10 phones from Wal-Mart. I can hardly read the caller ID and people can't hear me. Since everyone is going to cell phones guess they will quit making a house phone that is any good. I need to go on line and see if I can find something better. I looked at Radio Shack and their phone looked just as cheap and was $20.

Martha, sorry about your toe. Not fun, and not a whole lot you can do for it. Sounds like you got it under control. I also understand about the phones, too. You can't find a wall phone anymore!! They are all desk type models.

Pouring rain here, still. Flooding everywhere. Ran to the grocery store this morning and will stay put the rest of the weekend.

Not much else going on..
Wishing everyone a safe, dry, warm day.
Oh, am looking forward to Li's new FooFoo report!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

  Well when I started this it was still morning! But neighbor came over and asked me to go over to her trailer. So now I'm back and will finish this. And no I'm not gonna do an afternoon greeting!

Was chilly last night but oh my goodness is it beautiful outside right now. The weather site says it's only 54.3f at the moment but the thermometer out on the picnic table says it's well over 60f out there and it's in the shade. I'm loving it.

Nothing going on today of course. Have got supper cooking in the crockpot. Got chicken and cream of mushroom soup, fresh chopped mushrooms and onions in there cooking. Later I will do up some rice and use the soup, mushrooms and onions as a gravy. OMG! YUM!

OK, I have forgotten what else I was gonna write about so I guess I will just tell everyone to have a fantastic day and to be safe in all that they do.

Love to all

Good Afternoon, once again!

The kids just left after an overnight visit---first meal served on this new to me table---and then we took a cab to the little 'Hometowny' Orena Bar and Grill not far from here. We played some great, albeit lengthy, games of pool, listened to juke box music (from the internet now) and had a great time. The owners of the place have known my son since he first came down here when he was 18 years old, and he and Melissa used to frequent the place regularly on the weekends when they lived here. They live so far out now that they don't have the opportunity to go out to places like that any more and socialize, so they had a fun night and so did I.

I got my lights and blue balls hung on the front eaves of my house this morning, with Goog's help in reaching the hanger nails they used last year. I would love to see it lit tonight, but guess I will go back to the trailer to make sure it stays warm enough in there when this next cold front passes through. This place will be fine with its furnace set on 60, or so.

A big aligator has been sitting in this pond all morning, basking, and sliding along the shore, looking for food, I imagine. He is a good sized one. Molly and I need to be watchful for him when we walk around the pond's edges.

At any rate, I hope everyone has a good day and gets ready for the latest weather front. My getting ready down here means putting on a fleece jacket, turning up my furnace in the trailer, and hunkering down! Not the same as shoveling snow off the roofs, decks, wood piles, carrying in tons of logs to feed the stove, making sure candles and water are available for power outages, and whatever!

My friend from school buried her baby yesterday, without ever having the chance to see her move. I thought about her all day, wondering how she will get through this.

Off I go to the cow pastures so Molly can get in her much-loved running and chasing sticks. I miss the sounds of the lowing cows, actually.

Happy Saturday to all.

Happy travels!

Good Afternoon Ladies...sounds like you all had quite a morning and lovely afternoons planned. For you up north, stay warm and toasty. It's cool and rainy here; supposed to rain all day tomorrow too. And then that storm from up north will come in and bring more more super cold. At least I can go into Foo Foo tomorrow (since she's on shore power here at the house) and turn on the heat. May try taking a cat inside to see what they'll do. I've posted pics on the "Show us your rig" forum. Along with the story of brining her home. I feel like I've been on an all-day road trip, I'm so tired. Good thing I started the day with a huge breakfast at Cracker Barrel. But now I'm hungry for dinner. So I'm off to see what calls me from the freezer...
