WARMER FRIDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WARMER FRIDAY

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I see by my desktop thermometer that it's -10F. back at my northern home! I just took Molly out for her morning walkabout, and it feels pretty warm in this yard in Orlando. When I got back to my trailer the day before yesterday, I was shocked at how fast the green grass in Goog's yard and in those huge cow pastures had turned brown-----just a nip of frost, and POOF!----instant winter!

Perhaps I will be able to get my house Christmas lights put up today, as it should be much warmer than yesterday. I still need to get me a long outdoor extension cord, as the only place I can plug house lights in is in the garage. I might even be able to go to the Jacuzzi today and sit out in the sun for a bit!

I was wondering if any of you are coin collectors? They are now minting a new collection of state coins featuring landmarks and famous places from each state, in a limited edition. I took down a phone number where I can order 12 uncirculated Wyoming quarters (the first to be minted) along with one extra to display and touch and so on, and a free display box in which to store them all. They are charging 20 bucks for the lot, plus shipping and handling, of course, and a chance to reserve the next group. The U.S. plans to mint 5 states a year. Anybody have any feelings about this? I have no investments whatsoever, and I am a collector of everything, so was wondering if this would be a justifiably vital investment for my kids and grandkids down the line. It gives me a chance to collect something with value, perhaps? :) My father did this for my brother and me, and I have a bunch of uncirculated coins in my house at home.

I hope things are somewhat warming up for the rest of you campers with heat problems and frozen water and whatever-----frozen bones, perhaps? By tomorrow, it's forecast to be in the 70s again down here, before plummeting to frosty conditions as the next cold front advances upon us. I sure do hope this is not a predictor of what this winter is to be like for our country this year, but I will be only too happy to suffer through it down here rather than deal with sub-zero temps and heavy snows at home. For me, these readings in the 30s and 20s are feeling not bad at all!

The kids are coming up here after work this afternoon, for supper and then we will go out to their favorite local bar to play some pool and listen to some music. The owners of the place are good friends of theirs, and they are looking forward to seeing them again. Yes, we will take a cab! It's just a couple of blocks from here, so not too expensive. I bought some Stouffer's vegetable lasagna to heat in my oven (a treat for me, as I do not have a stove or oven at home!)and I also have my chicken soup I made. I will pick up some garlic bread to add to the dinner.

Have a happy Friday, everyone.

Morning Soos and everyone else,

Looks like Soos and I are doing our morning routines. She's pposts here and I post on ORS and then we cross over and keep going.

Sound pretty cold at your northern home Soos, but then I suppose it would be up in the mountains. We will get that below zero stuff down the line here too. January is good for that and even late December. Yes, I too am wondering if it's going to be a cold winter for the country. But take heart. In two weeks we have the winter solstice and the days will be growing longer and the temps will slowly be inching up. Actually, yesterday when I went to WalMart, the sun was out and it does have warmth for this time of year, so make me wonder if we will have a mild type winter per say, with these cold snaps coming and going. We are down below our average snowfall already for this month.

Hopefully you will get your house lights up today. I quit doing that a few years ago. Used to put a couple thousand out on the house and in the trees out front. But I was younger then and the trees were just newly transplanted. Now I don't want to climb extension ladders and the trees are beyond reach. And the spruces get buried in snow. As do my shrubs. So, the heck with it.

It's a windy, snowy morning around here. No big deal though as the main burst of snow has come and gone and now it's snow showers that will be around most of the day. The temps are in the upper 20's, so this is more of a wet type snow, very fine. But it's tomorrow and Sunday that all eyes are watching. Looks like a biggie this time. We are under a Winter Storm Watch for tomorrow through Sunday. Heavy snow (6-10 inches plus), sustained winds around 25 with gusts as high as 40 etc. So it bears watching. So I guess I will head into town first thing tomorrow morning and pick up a few things that I would otherwise do on Sunday after church plus put some gas in the gas can. Don't think I will be heading out anyplace on Sunday.

Been up and at em already this morning. Got my jello salad made and it's in the fridge setting now. Will put the topping on late this afternoon. Got my "present" out and will wrap up the stuff in a bit here. Had breakfast (Adkins bar and glass of milk) and it's onlly 7:45 a.m.. Then in a litle bit I am going out and clear the snow so that will be out of the way before the storm hits. I don't think I need to run the blower on the drives, cause it doesn't look like more than an inch, but my deck and the backyard area still have snow from the other day and that's what I want to clear out. And I might bring the snow down off the top of "the camper". Do you get the drift, my batteries are fully charged today Got lots to do before I leave for party. Take bath and wash hair too.

Took the fur kids over to the park yesterday and we walked through the north campground. It was a good walk, but will probably be the last as the snow is getting deeper and this next storm will put the damper on woods walks. Will have to stay to the roads now. Yuck. Had a nice little chat with my boss too.

So, I am off to my day's events. Have a great day everyone. Will let yu know how the party goes tomorrow.

Good Morning Soos and Sue... you two are already up and going... I was a lazy bum this morning and did not get up till 9:45... yesterday I got out and road a long long way on my trike... shadow loved it... will go out again today... warmer temps mean more outside... I need to have a few nice days to scrape sand and paint the steps but cannot do it with the cold temps... and I also bought my sewing machine with me to sew some lace curtains... just straight sewing nothing fancy but need to get it done... and some writing those are my winter goals or chores... but it is not happening yet... I will be able to brush poor poochie he is shedding so bad I am wearing a fur coat...
My coffee is hot and tastes good today...
I have made my mind up if the weather is cold the rest of my stay I will not come back to Florida next year... not sure but will go someplace that is a bit warmer or simply stay home and crank up the heat... more room to move around there... and will save the Bright Hope for the summer spring and fall...
Well those are my thoughts be they good or bad...

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Oh goodness does that hot coffee hit the spot this morning! I always grab a cup on the way out the door with Shade first thing in the morn. Sit at the picnic table sipping and trying to wake up while Shade does her morning thing. Kinda thinking about having some cocoa and toast this morning, hmmmm? LOL

Yep it's chilly here too in southern UT but it's warmer than it is in upstate NY or in TN for that fact! So I will take the temps here any day. :( NY, ME and TN were almost in the single digits last night. Brrrrrrr! Got down to 25f here last night but now the sun is shining hard and it's warming up nicely, suppose to be in the mid 50's today.

Nothing really planned for today. Might go over to the little storage room we have to search for a couple things I want for here? But that's not a sure thing yet. But if I do go I will be taking a few things over there to put into storage. LOL In and out, up and down. The story of my life!

OK, time to check any other posting to see what's been going on. Hope everyone has a good day and do remember to stay safe.

"Li" hope your feeling better!!!

Love to all

Slept in again this morning. Me and the kitty have been snuggling for awhile. I have room for her little fuzzy bed next to me now so she sleeps there all night now. :D

I signed up for a gourd crafting class on-line last night. It is in Fallbrook, just south of here, on Saturday. I have always wanted to learn how to do that and actually collected some gourds back home to work on but never did, so ended up throwing them away when I moved. I am very excited to take this class! And it is free! (Fits right into my budget!).

Another beautiful sunny warm day in southern California! 67 right now with a high of 75 later. Sounds like we have the best weather in the country right now! Kathleen, you should head out here next winter!

Today I will just get things done around here; laundry, sorting books, etc.

Hope you all have a good day and stay warm!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, if that is the Wellburn Gourd Farm you will absolutely love the place. I went there a few years ago and attended their crafts fair. You can get gourds right there and choose the ones you want. What fun that was. What can be done with gourds is unbelievable. Absolutely beautiful. 2011 will be the last year for the crafts fair if you are interested in going. I bought a box full of gourds and have yet to do anything with them. I am thinking candle holders and will probably sign up for one of their tutorials.

Weather here is still warmish one day and coldish the next. Looks like most places will have a cold spell over the weekend though. Stay warm all and those in the west that have the warmer weather, send some east. Linda

Soos, be careful of those "investment" coins. Are they actually minted by the US MINT or by some company just selling them. Some of the coin collections are like the Franklin Mint plates that are supposed to increase in value so much NOT!!!. If they are minted by the US mint you can buy them at a bank for face value as they come out. Ask at a bank about them - they would know for sure. I have a friend who bought into the baseball cards would be a retirement investment - mostly they're not worth the paper they're printed on. Its only a very few particular ones that are worth anything.

Yes, that is the place I am going to! I wonder why they aren't going to have any more craft fairs? Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I can't wait!

I just checked the weather report for Minneapolis and they are bracing for a huge winter storm tonight and tomorrow with a foot of snow expected and highs on Sunday of zero! They are really getting hit early this year. That type of weather usually doesn't hit until just after Christmas and this will be the 3rd significant storm they've had already! I picked a good winter to move out here!
