TUESDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TUESDAY MORNING

Postby Colliemom » Tue Nov 16, 2010 7:52 am

Good morning sleepheads,

Looks like I'm the first one up again. Breakfast is already in tummy, well, except for the bowl of blackberries with whipped cream.

Supposed to be a partly sunny day here today and most of week is looking good. Winter is nowhere in sight for now. Longer it holds off, the less we have to mess with it, I hope. Sometimes when it comes late, it lingers forever at the other end. Long as it hold off, dogs and I can keep walking through the woods and other places we go. Walking around the road will get boring soon enough.

My kitchen project is coming along nicely. 3/4 of walls are cleaned and just need to have a couple of spots covered with a bit of mud. Mostly just little holes and one area that is cracking where two walls come together. Usual stuff in drywall from house settling. I put on light coat of mud on last night and will do another today later on. Then I all I'll have to do is pull out frig, remove old wallpaper from behind it and just wash down the area and a small area from there to end of wall. Cover a couple of nail holes and the whole works will be ready to prime. I'm just taking my time with it all. When I start getting tired or feel like it's getting boring, then I stop for the day. Need to do the dog walk thing anyway.

But first thing this morning, I am going grocery shopping and need to pick up a small container of mud. And some painters tape.

Otherwise nothing going on exciting around here. No RV to pack to head south, no travel adventures to share, no getting a house all cleaned and fixed up like Soos is etc. Oh well, guess some of us just have to do with the day to day stuff. :)

Good Morning All - thought I'd quickly check in. We are at the Dancing Eagle Indian Casino RV lot $10 with hook ups. Using the Casino's WiFi as the wind has been blowing so bad and hard I didn't want to chance putting the satellite up - so this kind of comes and goes. We are just east of Grants, NM. The wind yesterday and all night was horrible. Right now it seems quiet - hope it stays that way.
Safe travels to all.

Good morning Sue, and all!

This is the last night Sue will be here, as she flies out of Orlando Airport tomorrow evening. I will be on my own nqvigating the highways and all after that!

Sunday we all went to Disney's Animal World and Epcot Center, thanks to my son's free admission tickets for us all as an employee. Animal World was fantastic, with a safari ride that is realistic as heck! It was neat to see the animals unfettered and unfenced. Epcot left a lot to be desired for me.....it was the last day of their food and wine festival where you can go from country to country, sampling a taste of their foods and wines. The place was packed! I do not like wine at all, and the price of their 'samples' was disgustingly exhorbitant. I got a New England Lobster roll for 7.95----the size of a silver dollar! ACK! But it was fun to see the various countries' architecture, I guess. I can go back any time to visit other sites there any time I wish, but it won't be Epcot, unless I choose to go up in the famous dome, which I haven't been in since Goog was about 4 years old.

Yesterday Sue and I went back to my Orlando house, had the pest controlers there in the morning, and the apliance insurers there to fix a leaking washing machine. The washer needs a gasket, but they don't supply gaskets, even though I have paid over 500.00 per year to these guys for years upon years now. So, when the contract runs out at the end of December, I shall kiss their butts goodbye, pocket the savings, and buy a new appliance per year!

I installed new locks on the front door yesterday, and new hoses for the washer.

We went swimming and jacouzziing in the afternoon, and came back here to Goog's for a shishkebob dinner.

Today Sue and I plan to go to the local East Lake Beach and bask and walk and swim.

So that's that for now. I will try to be better with communicating when I can have my own internet hookup back in my own house. Cahtting is probably out until I can do that as I don't want to use up the kids' air card.

Kath, I hope you have a good trip south, and I can't wait to meet you! Let us kinow where you are when you can. Are you traveling alone? You are brave to do it!

Liz, I will try to get in touch when I can----after tomorrow, I will be freer to do more things as Sue will be back home.

Happy trails to all---no time to read posts, so that will have to wait. Later------

Happy travels!

Good-morning from rainy North Carolina, no complaints , we need it. Just a steady rain, not hard showers, but this afternoon, they said we may get some thunder and lightening, Maggie says no on thunder, I say no on lightening, for all the good it does us :o ;) Yes, Martha, think you did send this Thank You ! :D

Sue , you said something that struck me, so wanted to comment. You said no plans for travel, packing r.v etc at your house, just routine stuff. Thats why this forum is SO GOOD, because we can share in the excitement and things that pop up that each traveler has to do before heading out. LIke Kathleen, with her dentist visits and tags etc. she must do before going. We're all rooting her on and praying she has a lovely trip in Bright Hope, she has looked forward to this trip for ages, and I am so happy to share in all her ups and downs and plans and excitement. So we may be doing only routine junk at home, (know I am :) ) but we still count on here, as someone has to be shouting from the sidelines to cheer the lucky ones on. Our time is coming and they may be setting and doing same for us. So know you count, what ever you're doing, and to me, redoing walls in a house, is something :) So whether you're traveling or even able to, we all count on here, we're all important, we all have a place. So you post your daily stuff, it is important, your walks in the woods are lovely, you have posted some great pix of your autumn up there, so you have something we all need in our days. You're important, even though you aren't heading south. If you want to someday, I'm rooting for you !!!!!!! :)

Kathleen, when are you leaving? Hope the dentist visit goes well, and the tag line isn't to long.

Have a Really Great day everyone,
CArol :)

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

It's chilly here but the sun is shining big time and it's suppose to get into the mid 50's today. One of the women we work with on the rock has a daughter who is a meteorologist. She gave her an addy for a wedsite to check weather where ever. It's pretty neat. www.wunderground.com you can list favorite cities or check a city where you might be going.

Seeing as we don't have much really to do? We are taking our sweet azzed time doing this TT. I did post a link for a few pics of the truck and trailer in show off your rig. Nobody is getting a look at the inside until we are all shipshape in here!  Did get the the sewer hose and water hooked up, hot water is working fine. So now the dishes can be done. YAY! So now other than more cleaning, sorting, shifting, placing and tossing we should be in good shape! But I'm saying that very quietly as I don't want to be jinxed and make them 'famous last words'. Kelly just came out of the bathroom and mentioned something that I noticed. The dang blasted mirrors in there are not set up for short people. The one mirror I can only see my eyes in it and the other one is at least a little bit better. I can see my head but my chin is missing, I have to stand tip toe to see that. Wouldn't that make a lawsuit!!! Discrimination against short people.

OK, Shade is bugging me, bouncing off my leg so she must feel she needs to go outside again. ~sigh~ Hope everyone has a great day doing whatever and be sure to do it safely.

Love to all

I went and picked up my cat. Bet she is glad to be back to her barn and cat buddies. They didn't like that my trap still smelled like skunk so put her in one of their cages. I washed that thing several times but can still smell the skunk. Now I have to go bring their cage back. I just love to run the roads.

My DH is off seeing about trading his 4-wheeler because we can't keep the darn thing running. I searched all over for the title last night. I have the titles that went through the flood but that one came in while we were evacuated so like to never found it. I put all the paper work in a folder for him and he digs in the folder and takes the wrong papers instead of taking the whole folder with him. I swear, it's a good thing we aren't both 80 or we would need a keeper.

Echo, good looking truck and trailer. Glad you won't have to spend the winter in tents again. My microwave is over the refrigerator and I have to have a stool to see in it. The people that design these things don't think about short people.

HA! Me, too - a little folding plastic stool is a mainstay in my little trailer.
And I can't even get in either bunk WITH a 2-step stool!!!
My girlfriend can get up there from the ground - no stool...she has legs like a giraffe.

Good afternoon
Morning is long gone here and so is our beautiful indian summer weather. Chilly, wet and windy now.
Been dealing with some seemingly never ending family problems plus a few challenges of my own. Compressor went out on central unit just in time for our first freeze. Was without heat for a week but luck was with me as it warmed up nicely that week. Van left me and Nicky stranded one day last week; dead battery. So I now have new compressor and car battery and much smaller shopping funds; makes Christmas easier, maybe. But it could be worse; at least I was able to get them fixed.
Am struggling with what to do about hip. As most of you know, I've had both of them replaced. One has now been recalled. Didn't even know they were different brands until recently. Recovery has been such a long hard road for me. Am finally getting around reasonably well. Just cannot see putting myself thru such invasive surgery again and all the rehab.
Nicky had his own miss adventure over the weekend. See pets section later and he will tell you all about it.
Soos: So glad to see you didn't turn around and that you are getting settled in FL for the winter.
Barb and Linda; sending positive vibes for quick resolution to job hunts.
Echo: Also good to note new "Bug House" and truck. So much better than tent for winter even if it does have a few problems to work out.
Way to go Izzy. Now we can say we knew her before all the fame.
Now to try to catch up on a few more posts.
Stay safe out there.

Greetings from the windy north. Wow, what a storm we had last night, it's still blowing. It came on in an instant, I thought it was a navy jet turning a loop over our house, but it was an instant of screaming thunder, lightening, howling wind and hail...all in an instant and then didn't stop blowing ands howling until 4:00am with gusts of 65mph and sustained at 40. It howled around the skylights and vents all night long, just screamed....it was soooo coooool!!! I love that kind of stuff. it's still blowing a bit now. I went out and surveyed the damage and only found the house with his blanket up over his head, so went out and gingerly took it off of him and hoped he wouldn't trample me since he was a bit skitterish. All is well, the windows are still shaking with the wind but it has died down. Our roads were closed with downed power-lines...I figured the roof would be half gone, but it seems to be there. Nothing like a good wind-storm as long as no one gets hurt.

Windblown in Seattle.

Kdmac, I saw a quick blurb about that storm on our Portland news this morning. Yikes! We had some wind last night, but not like that, and no storms.

Today it's fairly nice so I got a walk with my furbaby in. He sure was happy to be out and about.
Earlier I bowled, and if I might brag, I had 3 good games!! Well, good for me, anyway. My highest score was a 181. Afterward I went to the grocery store, mainly to pick up a prescription. Wouldn't you know. I got home and realized I'd completely forgotten it. Good thing I'm not completely out.

Just finished a big o bowl of my squash soup. I'm loving it so much I bought the ingredients to make more!

Sarah, sorry Nicky ripped another toenail. I'm sure it really hurts! I didn't know about your hip replacements, and now a recall!? Lots to contemplate on getting it fixed.

Zeee, good to see you posting again!

Sarah, sorry to hear about the decision you have to make about the surgery. What a bummer - a recall? Does that mean if you decide to go with the surgery, it's free? At least anything that would otherwise be a cost to you? But just having to go through all that again - ouch. Thank goodness it's not both though!

Right now we've got the wind here in KY. Was going to run to the store this afternoon, but the wind came up and decided there's nothing I absolutely have to have. It'll wait.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Great to see you again Blue... but know when things go upside down it is hard to post... but that is what the 'Sistas' are for...
My day has not gone as I would have liked but have to deal with it and may not be gone out of here until Sat now... my litany of trials is as follows: dentist this am he gave me 6 shots so you know what is coming... he pulled the wisdom tooth, cut the bridge off, filled a tooth and put the CROWN in... have to say that real loud as the crown is over 2K... oh my I hope I am finished to the tune of over 3K now... he said there will be pain go home take the anti biotic and vicodin then take another vicodin and do nothing for 24 hours... boy that put a monkey wrench in the works... will see how I am in the morning and if I am ok will shorten the 24 hours some...
Only liquid or very soft stuff until tomorrow afternoon... yummm yummmmy I got a pumpkin pie and had a piece with a glass of milk... will have mashed potatoes (Beth the same kind we had) and some gravy off the Jennie o turkey dinner... will have some turkey tomorrow...
Thanks ladies for listening...

Ouch, Kath - thought you had decided to hold off on removing the wisdom tooth? Can't believe all those shots and the cost - so sorry! Hope that tomorrow the pain is minimal - rest and rest more tonight - hopefully by then it'll have worn off enough to cut the edge and you get can all those errands accomplished. If not, what's another day? :)

I agree. It's frustrating when you have to sit and wait and want to get going, but better to be safe than sorry. Supposed to be nice weekend anyway.

From the sounds of this Morning Coffee, everybody's having some sort of problems. Sarah's urgery or no surgery, If you aren't having any problems, maybe you should find out from your doctor if it's necessary to replace it right now. If not, leave it alone if it will be covered at no cost to you when and if something happens. Kath's tooth problems, although sitting down to pumpkin pie doesn't sound bad at all. And mashed potatoes and turkey either. kdmac's wind storm, which it that had happened here, we would all have been heading for basements thinking "tornado". And I can't blame the poor horse, I would have been skittish too.

Well, maybe tomorrow will be a better day. :)
