SUMMER IS BACK ON THIS FIRST FRIDAY OF FALL!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SUMMER IS BACK ON THIS FIRST FRIDAY OF FALL!

Lily and Hope taking a break from digging a winter den. Lily's back is covered with dirt, making her look brownish. MY how this little cub has grown and flourished in her 8 months of age! It will be interesting to see what will happen if Lily is pregnant again and Hope is in the den with her when the baby(ies) are born.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

When I stepped out of the trailer this morning, warm, humid air hit me! It's like summer out there today, with an early morning temperature of 65 degreees! Today is the day the alarm system guy comes to give me an official quote on how much it will cost me to install one for this house.

Yesterday I released a mouse, ate some breakfast/lunch, then tackled the cellar floor with the Shop Vac. ACK! I found a heavy-duty container with teeny, tiny little holes in the handles into which, over the years, many mice had found their way in and were unable to get back out. It was a very smelly mouse graveyard! As I was dumping the poor little bodies out in the back yard, I was startled to hear a noise behind me....looked around into the eyes of a whitetail fawn, close enough for me to touch, who was hoping that my red container might have something for him/her to eat, I guess! I jumped a bit when I realized just how close we had become, which scared the fawn off about 25 yards. I then came in here and got some of the wild apples I had picked to make more apple crumb pudding, but the fawn was NOT about to eat any of those. I am so afraid someone has been feeding this little creature and it is no longer afraid of humans. This is not a good thing, particularly as hunting season will soon be upon us. But it made for an interesting interlude in my cellar chores!

I then installed those little drip-rain-protector thingies that go over the tops of your windows in your vehicle so you can keep your windows cracked for ventilation in the rain. It was so easy to do, I couldn't believe I hadn't done this sooner. They come with gorilla-glue-like stuff on the tops of them, making it a piece of cake to install them yourself to the paint on your truck over the windows, after wiping down the area with an included alcohol wipe. I will get pics of them another time.

Then I tackled the curtain-making for my truck camper-top windows. I am fashioning some dollar store bright red baby blankets into curtains, using velcro to fasten them to the places along the windows. This quickly petered out (thankfully!) as my friend, Laura, and her soon-to-be-wed son showed up for some evening trout fishing at my pond. I closed everything up, and followed them down there for some chat time. No fish were caught, but 5 very large beavers were busy hauling trees and branches across the road along the pond into the brook on the other side, where thye have a dam and a lodge somewhere deep in the swamp area down there.

Now I will wait for the alarm guy to show, and who-knows-what after that. I forgot to call Mema yesterday to see how she is doing in the hospital, so I need to remember to call her today. I suppose I could bail out the paddleboat later, as it is probably as warm as it will be again until next summer. It is full of rain water at this point. I need to look up a good tarp to cover it with for the winter, too.

Happy Friday to you all-----OH DANG!-----I forgot this is Fosamax day, and have already had one cup of coffee! Oh well, tomorrow will have to be the day this week! Oh yes----I need to go pick up a prescription renewal at Kinneys Drugs, too.

Off I go to get dressed and await the alarm guy.

Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning Soos,... Hey, those released Meezes.. I found them.. had my back slider open so my critters could go in and out as I was too busy to get up each time and open the door ....well, along came a visitor.. eeek ! Zeke was running through trying to catch this little tiny bugger... So now it's gonna be.. find it a new home.. So Soos, make sure you tell them meezes.. not to come South East.. ( You in New York me in Pa)..

Posted a couple of recipes.. that will make your house smell wonderful and are really tasty.. and I'm off to the store to get the feed in for the family visit this weekend... before I leave for Florida...

Yes, this weather is warm again.. so I haven't made up my mind how I'm gonna dress going out the doors any more.. LOL.. confusion is quite common lately ..

Surfing the net also to find a Oval Crochet pattern for a table cloth I want to make.. seems the South Maid books are no longer available and boy it's difficult to find anything that looks simple.. LOL..

All have a great weekend..and above all .. be safe ...

God Bless
Zeee

Morning,
I've been following the ladies posts as they return home after the AR GTG. Kinda sad after such great fun.
Cool, rainy yesterday and today but suppose to hit 80 this weekend. Weird weather continues!
Have had a busy week. Tues I got blood drawn as a precursor to my cardiac Dr appt next week. Afterward I bowled my league games and then pre-bowled 3 more as I will not be there next week because of the aforementioned appt. Amazing how bowling can wear one out!
Wednesday was bible study and shopping. Yesterday I had a mini GTG with Kerry again. She is in the area to visit her daughter before heading to Quartzsite for the winter. We had lunch and then came back here to my house for hours of yakking! She is so interesting.
Today is grandparents day at the elementary school and my little neighbor boy asked me if I'd come in his grandmothers stead. So I have that at 2.
Tomorrow, Saturday, is soccer for both my GDs but the 8 yr old is also in a play (playing a flying monkey in the Wizard of Oz), so I'll just go watch her as I can't make the 10 yr olds game and the play at the same time.
Ok, need more coffee! Everyone have a wonderful, safe day!

Good Morning... well Soos you will not have to wait long for fall temps we are in the low 60 and will top out in the low 70s so no more complaining from me that it is to hot.. :D the next few days will be my perfect weather... I turned off the air and will have fresh air for a while...
I would say from a distance the ladies at the GTG had a great time one they will never forget...
Today I will vacuum... that is as you all know a never ending job... house work is my least favorite... I need another cup of coffee to make sure I am awake and ready to do the day's chores...
take care all you brave souls on the road... and Liz I bet you are getting excited to go to TX and get that new to you rig... glad for you...
Smile often...

Not morning anymore. We just got back from bringing my DH's truck to the shop. It has an appointment on Monday so we brought it today so I wouldn't have to get up at 5:00 on Monday. i would have liked to go shopping but not with DH so we ate at the Golden Corral, went to Sam's and came home. It was cool this morning but is now back up to 94. We are suppose to get a cold front next week with temps in the 80's. That will be nice.

Lenora, it nice of you to be a substitute grandmother.

My, Hope has really grown! Thanks for keeping us up to date on her, Soos. You sure stay busy....hope you can get everything set to come to FL for the winter.

I've got all my ducks lined up and will be leaving in the morning, heading for TX. Hope all the storms brewing out there steer clear of my travel route to and from.

What a nice thing for you to do for your neighbor boy, Lenora!

I see Barbzee's got a new crochet project in the works...hope you post pictures of your progress. I'll check out the recipes, but I just know they're not on my low-fat & cholesterol regimen.

Safe travels to all.

Liz, remember you are welcome to stop going or coming on your trip to Texas. Wish I could go to Kerrville and visit with everyone. Can't wait to see where all you go on this trip.

Thank you Martha. I'm afraid there won't be much "touring" on this trip, I have to get back to FL for my 6 mos. round of dr. visits. :| I'll let you know if I'll be coming your way. I appreciate the offer. So many good people on here. Hey, you could come with me if you want!

I wish I could go with you but I have too much going on. I finally got around to seeing about the heat shield that fell off on my last trip and don't know how long that is going to take. Have a good trip.
